@Miguel Messina To be honest this hole situation is stupid because DBD has the licenses to scream and night on elm Street two franchises that have inspired real life murders. I still love these franchises, it's just that some people need mental help.
@Miguel Messina No there was this man who watched the nightmare on elm Street movie then he thought he was Freddy Kruger then killed 4 people and angered 2 people. And search up the murder of Cassie Jo Staddart, the killer admitted he was inspired by the 2 killer from the first scream movie.
@Miguel Messina I know that the movies weren't inspiring by anything, I'm saying that it's not the movie's fault for these violent acts. I know that these two DBD killers are based off of real life killers. When everyone saw clown they thought of Pennywise but I instantly thought of John Wayne Gacey. The doctor's map was supposed to be in China, because he's based off of a Chinese doctor that treats teens video game addiction with electro shock therapy.
I wanna see Slenderman in DBD and with his own survivor, and instead of giving us a map for this chapter they should just re work the Red Forest maps, I mean it is a forest. And they should throw in his Eight Pages to find, just like the game 👍👌
For each page collected, all Gens get a small boost, but Slender sees blinks of where you are/have recently been, with 8 pages straight up opening the gates but revealing your aura for the rest of the game.
Good idea bad idea. Good - it would be a nice little shake up from the typical DBD formula and matches. Bad - it wouldn't really be DBD with slenderman anymore. It'd be slenderman the game starring DBD characters. In which case BHVR might hesitate since it would basically throw the rest of their game content out the window whenever itd be a slenderman match.
Whenever I see blame put on the fictional character creators I can't help but think why isn't anyone blaming the parents/guardians who neglected to ensure their children weren't getting involved in content rated above their age? Seriously, take some responsibility.... it isn't on them to monitor and teach your children. Add Slenderman to DBD, it would be cool.
I can definitely understand if Behavior decides not to license Slender Man because of all of the stuff that happened with him in the past, but I'm still hopefully that he'll make his way into DBD eventually...
@@GrenKler In case you didn’t know, there was an incident in 2014 where two mentally ill teenage girls attempted to stab their friend to death because they thought they would become “minions” of Slenderman. I mean despite the incident they still created a movie, so I don't think that it should be a problem for BHVR. Sure, there would be some people bitching about it, but there always are some, what can you do
A "don't look at him" mechanic would be so dope in this game. Like reverse stealth. It would also make playing against him very scary, trying to figure out where he is while keeping him out of you sight range.
Interesting video! One piece of inaccurate information though, the eight pages was actually not the first slender man game! The original slender man game was created in 2011 in the 64bits game competition, by someone named Zach! It features much of the inspiration for the marble hornets series and to my knowledge was the first to conceptualize slender having “proxies”
The biggest challenge isn't the controversy it's Sony, you know damn well Sony would try to make him a PlayStation exclusive killer cause they're assholes.
Forget horror movies, most movies and entertainment would've gone the way of the dodo if the courts pestered Hollywood over every crime copied from fiction
Usually when something isn’t being talked about, it means it’s being worked on. They stopped talking about resident evil about 3 months before the teaser. And pin head was never mentioned yet was a dream for all devs there. I think they either tried something, but it failed. Or they are working on it for early next year.
I remember that incident, it actually happened only a couple miles from where I lived at the time. The documentary about it is fascinating, and Bella's story of survival is incredible.
Slenderman is an "Entity" level creature. It would be very humiliating for him to be in the game as an ordinary puppet of Entity, like all the other killers.
Height:tall Perks: No escape: When a survivor escapes a chase, the next noise they make reveals their aura for two seconds and gives the killer a 5% speed boost. Hex Sour lullaby:you have your lullaby ring in the survivors ears making them more paranoid and make their skill checks more tough but them faster by 7% No chance:when you damage a generator, the last person to who touched it has their aura revealed for two seconds. Power:wait to strike You gain a small speed decrease for a few seconds then lash out with a tentacle bringing a survivor to the dying state, but there are 8 pages around the map that survivors can collect to only make your tentacles bring them to the injured state Best strategy:keeping an eye on your targets when their at their most vulnerable and striking at the right moment.
Slenderman, the rake, Jeff the killer had been my path into horror. I would love to see Slender in the game, or even the Rake since we don't have many feral killers.
hey, I wonder if you could look into Dying Light's Night Hunter, I feel like it would perfectly fit the killer role since it comes from the asymmetrical gamemode "be the zombie" that's extremely similar to DbD. With the upcoming release of Dying Light 2 in december this year it could totally be a possibility.
I hope that behavior can collaborate with small horror game developers like frictional games or red barrel so It can give their games more public attention than what games like Outlast or Amnesia had back then.
Ultimately you can't blame a fictional character for such gruesome events. Those kids knew what they were doing and they decided to consciously act upon it. Slenderman is nothing but an excuse for what they did, and even more so it's the parents fault. They clearly never paid attention to their children's mental health, or to what they were doing online. I'm a horror artist myself and it saddens me that such a great character became the motive of a gruesome crime. Even though one of the girls thought it was a joke, she still acted upon it didn't they? Slenderman doesn't deserve this kind of controversy, a fictional character should never be blamed for reality.

@@silasgreaves6134 I agree about slenderman, I would rather have a wendigo, but Fnaf i think is a great idea. Mostly due to the design of the third game’s antagonist, Springtrap. Not to mention but the fan made Springtrap concept trailer, looks great and sold me on it. Man I wish Marble Hornets was more widely known, the modern Slenderman takes so much from the Operator. That and a chapter with Alex as the killer that has his ability tied in to working with the Operator (would solve the problem of movement and carrying people etc.) and Tim and Jay as the survivors would be fucking amazing.
This may come off as harsh but knudsen deserves absolutely no hassle for any crime done in the name of his creation. It's up to parents to teach their kids to differentiate between fiction and reality, yet all they do is hound the guy for simply being a horror artist.
Hi Schmuckles, I might have something that might interest you apart from your video on Slenderman, Mathieu Cote mentioned the Slenderman on twicht with the fog whisperers SawPalin, SawPalin asked him if the Slenderman could be added in the game and Mathieu Cote answered him
There's a detail that you might have overlooked, and that is the fact that Sony owns the rights to Slender Man himself, but not to any other human or Proxy characters created for Marble Hornets or for Slender: The Arrival. If Slender Man were to get into DBD, BHVR would have to either make it a Killer-only Paragraph or would have to contact people from Parsec Productions and the creators of Marble Hornets in order to get the right to their secondary characters
The stabbing happened 10 years ago, nobody was killed, the people who did it were sentenced to prison (I believe they are both released now though, but are always monitored) you can't really say you are not allowed to talk about Slenderman because of a case that wasn't that big of a deal in the first place.
Unlike any other killer. Slender isn’t a icon of horror brought over from a game or movie. He’s a legend created in modern times. And while there’s controversy from real life events, almost any legend has that problem. In that sense, he’s a missed opportunity to bring in.
heres my lil concept for a slenderman chapter: killer:slenderman "the legend" or "the opperator" main attack:tendrills. ability:the shadows. his body camouflages into the background blending in similar to how he blends into woods. survivor:masky/tim sutton map:the dark forest
Some People say that Slenderman is irrelevant and shouldn’t be in DBD but DBD has Silent Hill which hasn’t gotten a new game since 2014 and isn’t really popular now a days
I imagine what his powers would be - Tentacles hitting you from distance, some sneaky and creepy gaze, silently appearing in the front of any survivor that crossed his eyes/view, or basically all of them.
I don’t know which rarity it is but I think it would be neat if they made Slender Man a skin for Pin Head and change the chains out for Slender Man’s tentacles

Just make another faceless killer with a few different things. Lose the suit, do a tall, thin, black body with no discernable features, and tentacles. They can even brand it as a "living shadow" or something. You may not get to go as far as having 8 pages in there, but I bet you could implement some powers to at least make the connection. Even as a huge Slenderman fan, got an operator symbol tattooed, I wouldn't be one of the people dying on a hill to get a perfect implementation of him into the game. Just my two cents.
Speaking of Slender Man not being added, I wonder as to why they haven't considered the Xenomorph for DbD. I mean, just replace hooks with Facehugger nesting sights and you basically have implemented the character in flawlessly. The Xenomorph's ability to walk on any surface could absolutely give the game some vertical gameplay. It's not like the game is against more animalistic killers, I mean the Demigorgon is in the game and it's not like the Predator where there's too much going on with the abilities. I mean if the Xenomorph can be implemented in various other types of games, it would find a perfect home in DbD.
I imagine if Slenderman was in the game his attack would passively distort the survivor's point of view for a few seconds. Basically giving us the classic static effect.
Springtrap, Slenderman, and Jason Voorhees are the killers I am most hyped for as of now and I would add Jeff the killer to that list but I honestly I think he would fit best as a legion skin(wouldn't mind him as a separate killer though).
What would cool about slenderman is that it would expand the types of media / entertainment that behavior has used killers from currently its film, TV and video games, I know slenderman has a video game but his origin is more internet , creepy pasta then all we would need is a killer from a Novel and we would pretty much have everything covered
It wouldn't care either way If he gets in he'd be terrifying and probably be the tallest killer which would be horrifying But if he doesn't it makes sense since there is a real tragedy tied to it
I want his abilty to be a Metered "Don't Look at Him" Meter. When you look at him for a long time your meter will fill up and you will be exposed. Like a reverse michael Myers. Your screen will be static like doctor, making it harder to see and giving you idea that your meter is filling up. For balance slenderman would need to slowly walk or stand to channel that ability. Like myers basically. Then to cure that exposed status, you will need to find pages to weaken his power. So like pig/devour hope. But once the 8 pages are gone he loses that expose status effect for the whole match.
let him teleport around like nurse, but with alot more control. Let him stalk like myers and ghost face. He could be a new type of killer where his m1 isnt as good as his ability. He would be more passive, i think.
If they get Slender: The Arrival Slenderman into the game then I could see him having proxies as his power and of course you could switch between them. So picture this he has himself, Kate and Charlie, Charlie is the more quiet one so he might be your ambusher and Kate would be your chaser. you could send Charlie somewhere on the map to create a choke point while Kate’s ai could search around automatically or until you take control and make her look around, Charlie’s ai would have him remain dormant until a survivor runs into him which would result in them getting attacked by him, Charlie’s speed would be slower than most killers probably survivor or nurse speed while Slenderman’s speed could be huntress’s speed while in sight of a survivor and then faster than normal killers while not in sight, then kate’s is just normal killer speed. Slenderman could have a special passive ability where survivor’s could start taking damage if they stare at him too long maybe they’d see static and only hear static for looking too long which could disorient them. Slenderman would be the “Tower” of the group basically giving survivors bad effects while they remain nearby or stare at him. He could be the first killer where looking back at him to see where he is while he chases you is actually a bad idea. Then I imagine all three of them could have their own moris which would be sick.
Forests play a part in a lot of horror because they were free to film in during the VHS explosion of the 80s and 90s that lead to the absolute glut of horror content that came out of America during the time period.
I sorta wanted jeff the killer to make some kind of appearance. But with legion being the killer that is close enough to jeff the killer it would be cool for legion to have a jeff the killer outfit or at the least just the body and weapon but a matching head would also be neat.
I think the Survivor should be Timothy Wright from the Marble Hornets webseries. He could have an alternate costume based on his "Masky" persona. A lot of people think Masky is Slenderman's proxy, but Tim's actually one of the protagonists fighting _against_ Slenderman.
We need a sherif role for dbd like maybe have characters like ash from the evil dead and rick grimes like someone who can fight off the killler but not kill them
I think a good way to turn around the murder thing is to make an original killer in the place of Slenderman, like Behaviour sort of did with Hillbilly and Trapper. It would give them more creative freedom, and wouldn't put them in the middle of all this controversy
It would be cool seeing Slenderman as a killer in Dbd. He would be slow but a stealth killer that has no terror radius also similar to the spirit he could teleport and jumpscare survivors and when you look at him for too long your screen would start glitching or something like that
The kill was never about slender man. They were sick and wanted to put the blame on a fictional character. Me and MANY many others would love slender in dbd! One of the top 3 I want in.
this whole situation reminds of me of machinehead or metal head (cant remember the name tbh) and angela, the sister of thor which both had sort of huge legal battles for the rights, and since in comics its a little convoluted seeing how theres always technically two creators of a fictional character. the one that originaly thought the character up and the one that brings the newly made character to life by drawing it, which was the exact argument being made for machinehead and angela (i think thats the name) who was originally i think from transformers and spawn respectively, which get kinda wonky because it brings in the idea of the omniverse where individual franchises make up one multiverse per say but all other comics would be in an over-arcing collection of multiverses or an omniverse, which are not connected but also not completely unreachable. and its how you have crossovers like batman and the tmnt. or how angela is from spawn but also crosses over to marvel. or how mr.manhattan was able to see a vision of superman and travel from his universe to theirs (granted manhattan is basically god). anyway point being situations like take time to blow over. maybe itll be solved soon and well see slender in dbd or we wont (which would suck but it is what it is) with any luck in time itll be made public domain and all but until then all we can do is hope the right people will get the rights and do my boi slendy some long awaited justice.
I think a slender the arrival chapter would be perfect, it has a killer, a survivor, a map, and even a legendary skin for legion, also I'm just nostalgic for the slender video games more than anything else
The Slenderman stabbing a will not effect there’s plenty of horror icons inspired by real killers and that have a lot of controversy behind them so it’s be kind of backwards if they said the standings where the reason he’s not in there

I feel for the family of the victim, I really do, but at the same time it's *SUPER* crap of them to actively attempt to stifle Slender Man at every turn. It's not the fault of a fictional character that your child was attacked by a couple of psychopaths. If not Slender Man, those girls would've used some other excuse.
Like summoning a demon, or something.
3:38 You gotta love it when someone does something horrible. Then when they're questioned about why. It takes them a moment to think about it and realize how stupid it sounds.

And the people who made it clearly stated that it wasnt even real.
@Miguel Messina
Of course slender isn't real, he's saying that the girls thought he was real because of thier mental illness.
@Miguel Messina
To be honest this hole situation is stupid because DBD has the licenses to scream and night on elm Street two franchises that have inspired real life murders.
I still love these franchises, it's just that some people need mental help.
@Miguel Messina
No there was this man who watched the nightmare on elm Street movie then he thought he was Freddy Kruger then killed 4 people and angered 2 people. And search up the murder of Cassie Jo Staddart, the killer admitted he was inspired by the 2 killer from the first scream movie.
@Miguel Messina
I know that the movies weren't inspiring by anything, I'm saying that it's not the movie's fault for these violent acts.
Red Forest is linked to Huntress. so it would suck ass if they reworked it for a non-OC
Red forest is also Plague's map, they could just do a third variant for Slenderman...
For each page collected, all Gens get a small boost, but Slender sees blinks of where you are/have recently been, with 8 pages straight up opening the gates but revealing your aura for the rest of the game.
@@Drika65860 Yea that works to
Good idea bad idea.

A "don't look at him" mechanic would be so dope in this game. Like reverse stealth. It would also make playing against him very scary, trying to figure out where he is while keeping him out of you sight range.

I'd be fine with that, we could get the map too but I'd be just fine with getting slenderman
The stabbing happened 10 years ago, nobody was killed, the people who did it were sentenced to prison (I believe they are both released now though, but are always monitored) you can't really say you are not allowed to talk about Slenderman because of a case that wasn't that big of a deal in the first place.
To this day I can watch any slender man related video and it genuinely terrify me he is the only thing that terrifies me that much 😅
Unlike any other killer. Slender isn’t a icon of horror brought over from a game or movie. He’s a legend created in modern times. And while there’s controversy from real life events, almost any legend has that problem. In that sense, he’s a missed opportunity to bring in.
heres my lil concept for a slenderman chapter:
killer:slenderman "the legend" or "the opperator"
main attack:tendrills. ability:the shadows. his body camouflages into the background blending in similar to how he blends into woods.

Answer: you need a license, duh

That kid sounds more traumatized than the kid that got stabbed
Springtrap, Slenderman, and Jason Voorhees are the killers I am most hyped for as of now and I would add Jeff the killer to that list but I honestly I think he would fit best as a legion skin(wouldn't mind him as a separate killer though).
Isn't there a lawsuit for who has the rights for jason?
@@B1g_B0sssss Yeah that's what's keeping him from being in the game for the most part.
What would cool about slenderman is that it would expand the types of media / entertainment that behavior has used killers from currently its film, TV and video games, I know slenderman has a video game but his origin is more internet , creepy pasta then all we would need is a killer from a Novel and we would pretty much have everything covered
It wouldn't care either way
If he gets in he'd be terrifying and probably be the tallest killer which would be horrifying
But if he doesn't it makes sense since there is a real tragedy tied to it
Slender mans terror radius should be his song, starts very faint and gets louder when he gets closer like freddys terror radius in the dream state.
I’d rather have them Implement Kate, and then have buyable skins of Hoodie and Masky. Kinda like legion, except they are the Proxies for Slenderman.
You see...masky (tim) and masky (Brian) aren't proxies they are against the operator not on his side
We need a sherif role for dbd like maybe have characters like ash from the evil dead and rick grimes like someone who can fight off the killler but not kill them
ALSO A MARVEL ZOMBIES CHAPTER WOULD BE 🔥 LIT🔥
I think a good way to turn around the murder thing is to make an original killer in the place of Slenderman, like Behaviour sort of did with Hillbilly and Trapper. It would give them more creative freedom, and wouldn't put them in the middle of all this controversy
It would be cool seeing Slenderman as a killer in Dbd. He would be slow but a stealth killer that has no terror radius also similar to the spirit he could teleport and jumpscare survivors and when you look at him for too long your screen would start glitching or something like that
They should make him super tall. Make him tower over nemesis. They should make it to where you see half of his body in the lobby tall lol
