Stormland is one of my fav games, it is very well made. I just wish they would keep developing it, it could have become something really big in vr.
How did I not hear about this game before!!? Amazing VR design in this game. Thanks for the breakdown. Loved the video. Esp. like your attention to every design piece, even the locomotion
Great overview once again Ben! Huge fans of Stormland here.
Love this game ! Even though it released in 2019 and hasn't seen any major updates in a few years, I still regularly go back and play it; especially since the gameworld changes every week ! My playtime for HL Alyx ? 17 hrs. My playtime for Stormland ? 40 hrs.
Breakdown of game design and VR methods are always my favorite
Insomniac:
• Resistance 3 (2011)
• Edge of Nowhere (2016)
• Spider-Man (2018)
• Stormland (2019).
Lovely video, hope to see more of this!
One way to do the mag thing imo is to expand the interaction zone and have ammo work by bullets fired rather than discrete mags. So if you drop a mag you just pull out another. Also like most things with guns I think complications are irrelevant because all gun games would have the same mechanic so the skills transfer as much as controller familiarity does. Stormland's was fun but could have used an alyx grab to get all the enemy weapons without running around to pick them all up. Maybe a drone in the later parts that'll do it for you. Grabbing was good, but I did accidentally grab rocks or the ground and that seemed silly.
please part2
Yes but you need an RTX 5090 for this game
Who's talking? Ben or Scott?
