Jon is correct. It is pronounced, "Tay-ne." I called them one day to confirm. Another top tier video from you guys. My favorite duo to start the weeknd off with. Looking forward to the next one on the DA9. 💯👏🏻😁
Man this makes me miss my old DA. I was one of those crazy ones that was one of the first to do a DC2 ITR headlight conversion to the DA back in the Honda-Tech and ClubSi days.... This makes me so nostalgic and want to do another build.
Wow wow wow that car looks amazing love to see you people still tuning them and keep them this inspired me to do something special with my honda crv 3gen i live in the Nederlands and we don't make many miles so wy not make something special what you don't see here love this channel keep going and thanks for the inspiration.
Interesting stuff. I recently subscribed to your channel after finding content covering cars in original condition. Yet while a build such as this isn't really my thing, I can still appreciate the details here - both the attention to detail that has gone into the build itself and the level of detail you cover in the video. Thanks guys for sharing your time and knowledge.
I had a high compression gsr motor with the gsr tranny and I hated the gearing. I got an S4C B16 tranny, slapped in an LS 5th gear and absolutely loved it. Got 40 mpg on the highway. You’ll love that CTR with the LS 5th!
Man seeing you’ll doing your suspension adjustments and alignment jobs I wish I lived in the area to get my car in cause I can’t find a place that’s good to get my car in and do that good of a job 😭
Thanks AHC for bringing back the old Da, EH and EM. Every week I look forward to another video and every week I leave satisfied. Love it! On another note. Has AHC ever considered getting into Zinc plating for OEM brake calipers to achieve that awesome gold? Any problems getting into this type of a restoration process?
Hey Matthew. Zinc plating/coating is a great way to achieve the OG look on some of the older models. Finding a reputable place for this type of service is tough. Often times, you won't know the quality of the craftmanship until months and years later. We will explore zinc plating/coating in the near future.
Really interesting video you guy defiantly know what you are doing, Jon's Integra looks really nice and with all those upgrades it looks like it goes quite well 😲🤭 John UK.
Great video! BTW, the suspension adjustment is never 1:1 because of the motion ratio that's built into this car. If you adjust the height of the shock, the car's ride height will go up by an additional amount, which is dependent on the motion ratio. I think the DA motion ratio is close to 1.5 : 1 So if you want to raise the ride height by 1.0", you only raise the shock around 0.67". Same goes for lowering.
@@ahcgarage I had 4 different sets of suspension on my DA6 until settled on Eibach Sportlines on DC Koni Yellows with modified perches, and ITR rear sway with home made brace. Fantastic track setup that still drove great on street. Check my channel for some in car track footage (13 years back now!)
With videos n explanation like these ones... That's when we learn... To upgrades n get better performance in our projects... Looking for ideas to my 2011 Chevy Colorado 2.9 AT for callejero street race n drift mini truck. Saludos desde Ensenada México congrats! 🍀🎶🍻🤙
Very nice DA my man!! Question for you or any DA guys out there……. what are we all doing going forward with the whole ICU (integrated control unit) issue that plagues us 2nd gen folks….. Is everyone out there just continuing to find old ones, and just using them until they’re spent? Are you guys repairing the bad capacitors/ burnt boards? I’m just really curious about this and what the solutions are in 2022. Thanks for any input.
Nice ride!!! I’m new to the South Florida Honda seen, wondering if ya can help. I’m building a B20b vtec for a EF 4 door, and I’m trying to find help as to who or where can I call for my wiring being that I’m going full obd2b.
Raxle is king out in Gainesville if you're getting a replacement. They use oem cores and have lifetime warranty. I've only had to replace one in 9 yrs of tracking my da
@@ahcgarage My classic Honda and Acura are: a 2004 S2000 with fewer than 82,000 kms and a 1994 Integra GSR with almost 90,000 kms. My Teggy was purchased new in 94 and I've owned the s2k for just over 2 years. Both cars are stock.
What Upper Control Arm bushings/mounts did you use? Did you use the PCI upper mounts/bearings paired with the UCA? I'm interested in the PCI UCA but not sure if you can use OEM bushing/mounts or if you can use other manufactures mounts for the PCI UCA? Thanks in advance for your help!
You referred to them as additional chamber kits (18:23). What if I do not need any additional chamber as the PCI UCA offers all the adjustment I need. What would you recommend using?
I have a 90 DA9 and just installed K Tuned UAA Skunk2 LAA with K Tuned K1 street. I have 215/40/16 I was not able to get the height that you have. There were no top out marker holes in the front so I called K Tuned and got the measurements so I could go as high as possible in the front, but the tires are still slightly tucked and slams on small pot holes. Back feels okay. Any suggestions ?
I have had 91 DA9 Was my first Acura , then I had a 95 DC2 GSR . I now own 02 DC5 Type S and then we bought the 90 DA9 last week for a build with my son . Upon trying to find a gsr motor ( next to impossible with no money ) we have decided to go Jon’s route . The engine has 188k on the block and cam shaft . So if Jon has a channel can you let us know please ?
@@ahcgarage Did Jon alter the engine geometry with the rods and pistons he placed (longer rod and higher pin)? Hope it's not much to ask, but I'm curious how much power the engine is making. My ballpark guess is it's around 220 to 230 whp with std bore and stroke? Thanks!
God I have a 93 DA9 RS with 240k miles on it (original owner) and I finally have enough cash to rebuild it, but it needs a lot. Good news is I dropped a B20Z with 35k into it a couple years ago so it can get around town, but the list of stuff it needs is extensive. It's bone stock other than the B20Z. Functionally it needs new suspension, bushings and brakes. Then probably a new paint job, left and right rear fenders, rims, tires and probably a new driver-side seat at least. I'd like to target just street and autocross initially. Anyone know of a good web site that summarizes everything from the ground up? Makes my head swim. I'm decently mechanical, but there's a lot to learn. I don't mind paying for labor when necessarily, but I don't want to go broke either.
