Here's something a little different! I'm by no means a classical guitarist, but this is a song I was certain I wanted to include in this series of arrangements, so here's my (slightly shortened) rendition of the first movement! I really enjoyed working on this one, hope you guys enjoy it too :)
^^ can tell clearly u are definitely not a classical guitarist. but still it is a good play.
aha for sure, my technique is way off, but hoping to progress a lot as I play more varied music :) Thanks!
My man
No i think there is nothing wrong with ur techniques. Finger placing are the way u hold are like a classical guitarist.
It is just that the way the song is being expressed n the emphasis on main beats is definitely different from how a classical guitarist would do it.
Other than that, ur skills is worth dying for.
James, have you thought about Clair de Lune?
Never thought I would hear his on the guitar but it sounds beautiful!!!
Moonlight Sonata was my favorite piece to listen to when I studied for my exams. Calm, relaxing, beautiful. Nice arrangement, I guess it was pretty challenging to arrange this - as simple as it sounds, I don't think it's the simplest song for fingerstyle. Great job! :)
Moonlight Sonata is easily one of my fav classical songs, 1st and 3rd movements are so amazing, well played bro!
If he played the 3rd movement on guitar I would die
da man it’s possible, just in a different style
Check out marcin, you guys would be shocked
This was a surprise James, I never expected to see you doing a classical one. This was so emotional indeed.
Listened with headphones :)
absolutely breathtaking performance. incredible.
Hi James. Just happened upon your channel. Oh my gosh, what wonderful gifts you have. Your obvious and incredible talent , certainly, but also to have something that you love so much and that brings you such joy. You could never have achieved this level of skill, were it not so. God has been good to you and you have responded with hard work and dedication, which now brings your joy to the rest of us. Not a lot of people can say that. I wish you all happiness - thanks for sharing!
Nice, sounds beautiful! I didn't know you liked classical music. Do you listen to it often? I'm liking these series you're doing man. Keep it up!
For sure! I used to listen to it a lot while studying music at college, but now I'm really getting back into it. I particularly like a lot Debussy's music, and a big goal of mine is to nail an arrangement of Passepied. There's one great guitar version I've seen on UA-cam, very challenging! But my favourite version is actually by a modern bluegrass band called Punch Brothers which I highly recommend checking out. Thanks!
James Bartholomew Cool! I'll be waiting for your arr. of Passepied! And checking out Punch Brothers right now!
No matter the instrument, this work done true never fails to evoke profound emotion, and this rendition did not disappoint. The player and the instrument were truly sublime.
Fantastic job on this piece. Well done!
It's so beautiful!!
well done james ! really excellent!
that was amazing, wow!
I’ve been wanting to learn to play this on the piano because I love this song!! Amazing job with the guitar cover!! I love it!! ❤️❤️
This is everything to me
One of the most underrated guitarist.
Excellent work brother
Nice!! Thank you james
that was amazing
Wow!
Congratulations! This is one of my favourites songs ever and I have never heard it sung on guitar. It sounds awesome! 💕❤💕💕❤💕❤❤💕❤💕❤💕❤💕❤💕❤
just perfect
Awesome video buddy. Your covers give me inspiration to practice guitar every day
Unbelievable. Thanks👍😊
GOOD WORK MEN I HOPE YOU CAN MAKE MANY LIKE THIS
Well done.
Bravo!
worth the try. very nice play, congrats
HOW DO YOU OPEN YOUR HAND LIKE THAT. H O W. MY HAND SOULD FALL OFF IF I TRIED THAT
I play a lot :P My stretches look a bit more significant because I have small hands haha. The tapping at 2:18 was actually wimping out because lifting and re-fretting on that chord nearly broke my fingers every time XD
Bruh it's easy ur just trash 🙂🙂🙂
I had problems for a while doing that kind of thing on the guitar. I found it surprising how much easier it became though when I had the guitar resting on my left leg (which was raised off the ground) so the guitar was at an angle. With your arm at the higher angle, your wrist is positioned to allow big stretches.
@@darksoar3633 brah..... literally, if you play the guitar.. cool, if you can do this.. cool. but usually this is hard af, so try keep your thoughts to ur self next time, k? :)
Beautifully played James. I've just learnt the first 4 bars lol
That Lowden sings quite beautifully bud!
Sounds great to my ears. Thanks for interpreting this piece. I am trying to learn the basic melody and chords and this is so helpful. God bless you for taking the challenge and time to post your video...i will not be able to play it with the feeling and skill you have but this is a great video for me to try and learn from a supertalented player.
Thanks you again for posting a beautiful rendition of moonlight sonatas on steel string
guitar
That was exceptional. Cheers, Dude. Jet Set Willy will never be the same...
Beautiful!
This should deserve more views like srsly 😮😮😮
Beautiful! I love classical, you should do a cover of Capricho Arabe by Tárrega, would be amazing to hear !
I can't even play this on the piano and now i see u playing this on te guitare!WTF MAN,YA AWESOME
Te admiro!!! Me encanta!! No esperaba ver/escuchar esto en tu repertorio. Ya me gustabas, ahora soy tu fan jaja!!
So relaxing james...
And that guitar is gorgeous
+Sam's Fingerstyle Indeed it is :)
Excelent!
I would very much like to see a cover of Who Says by John Mayer, if that's possible. Awesome arrangement and playing as always James.
Thank you thank you thank you hope this one makes the cut for the tutorial.
Maybe, though it might be a pretty long tutorial, there's only a couple of short repeats in the whole thing :P Maybe if there's fair demand :)
James Bartholomew Well, I do hope that people are still a bit interested in the classics. Terrific job, as always.
I hope so too! I really enjoy working on music like this, I learn a lot more too :)
James Bartholomew please do a tutorial 🙏🏻
Tutorial mann it is unbelievable
This is truly fantastic, I admire your work I'm also do guitar, not that great at it yet though!
Beautiful.... ❤️❤️
Love from India...
This was wonderful.. I want a tutorial
Claro de luna.... Bethoven
bangkeee keren abis
Good Job James,, keep moving. Be the different. We'll always support you... Nice classical song, can I request the Andante? there is so many type of Andante, and i think, it's suit for you for this time.. Good luck my friend
MORE!
Wow, just wow. Almost sounds like the piano.
Thanks :) I did consider playing it on a baritone to get a closer sound to piano, but some of those chords are naaasty on a baritone haha
😍
Can somebody give a link to the sheets music for guitar? It is so perfect, i wanna cry
Whens the third movement?
Ah gimme 10 minutes, I'll bash that out later.... I wish :P
James Bartholomew its been a year bro!!
@@JamesBartholomewMusiclet's make it 2 :)
@@JamesBartholomewMusic Its been three years now.. its the perfect time for the 3rd movement lmao
Maybe he meant 10 minutes on Miller's planet from Interstellar. XD
GREAT COVER!!! Please please consider doing Nocturne in C Sharp Minor by Chopin...or Spanish Romance! Keep up the great work, and thank you for all you do!
Can you do Avril 14th next?
Please make a tutorial for 'The scientist' - Coldplay. Loves from Vietnam!
👌❤
Amazing rendition, James! Please do Flight of the Bumblebee! Would love to see your take on that one :D
+Enzo Louis Everyone wants the hard one eh? 😅 We used to play that in a steel band which was pretty interesting, maybe I could play it by harp picking across strings?though it's chromatic mostly which would mean some stretches to do it like that haha
James where did the all falls down video go? 😭😭😭
Well, obviously I need to practice more! Beautiful! Might I suggest adding Chopin - Ballade No. 1 in G minor, Op. 23 to your likely enormous list?
Elvis Borges or Nocturne maybe?
+ジョンマーティン I've got Nocturne op.9 on the list, will have to get practicing my trills for that! Though Ballade no.1 might be a bit difficult for me at the mo haha, gets pretty fast later on.
wow it is more enjoyable than piano version
can i get the tab? or can you let me know where it is?
Is there a logic pro version for Windows? I refuse to use apple
Can you do somewhere over the rainbow by Israel?
now do the third movement
Osm
Still waiting on the 3rd movement...
nice guitar anyway
This looks like a hard one
Very impressive, but can you play alhambra on a steel string guitar :))))
must thumb-up content!
CLASSICO by TENACIOUS D..
Thats easy, now do the third movement if you are good😂😂 just kidding, that was an amazing performance, +1 subscriber
Geesh I looked up a guitar thinking how amazingly bright it sounded. No wonder......it's a $7,500 guitar!!! I wouldn't but I bet someone would LITERALLY kill for one of those. I sitting here playing an acoustic fender I got for free. I have an Epiphone matt heafy custom though which is awesome though. But I need a better acoustic. What's a good underrated acoustic that can get that clean bright sound and not cost more than say $500?
Wait.... You do classical?
make the tutorial plz, my gf are pianist and i want to show her i played this songs hahaha
I subbed for a 10 hour rendition of Despacito, not this 😤😤

Great job
Nylon strings would sound better
Very beautiful. "Some awkward chords"? Lol.
2019?
3rd movement is impossible to play at single guitar right?
Have you considered gymnopedie?
not bad actually
,我英文不好,直接用中文說比較快
表演正確,但就像是電腦音樂,太正確而沒有感情!
再多練習一番,肯定可以是表演項目!
would sound much better on a classical guitar
Pretty good work, the shifting seems a little rigid though, but I play violin so I have have no right to criticize
Nice try, dude. I was arranging this some in acoustic (i play also classical) and this is very difficult with acoustic guitar!
TUTORIAL
I always wanted to play the guitar, but the beginning seemed so...
+Hamyyz I have seen that advert probably in the region of 1000 times
Dude atleast type down what movement you used into the thumbnail😂😂 i got my hopes so high thinking you did the 3rd movement....
Edit: oh await this vid's a year ago... Nevermind😂
😍
