Thank you so much! The spell plague is one of the most interesting of events to happen. Nothing was unaffected from the gods to the lowest of creatures as well as the land itself.
Im basing my world around the events of the spellplague. About 10 or so yrs afterwards. Well before the sundering when its stabilizes. Though some races wont be playable, while more of the monster races from volos and eberon will be. Gonna use the dragon marks as the arcane marks mentioned. From another supplement i want to use the magic mishap table to give my players the feeling of their spells running rampant. My world will have some pockets of the blue flame burning but not growing too wildly. Will most of the gods are dead or have been weakend, i want to bring others from different settings to kinda fill some of the void. Like their spark has escaped but are weakened. A few gods so weak they became demi gods serving another. Give my players the very minimum chance of either stealing a gods spark and becoming a demigod or full godhood if their have the knowledge. Or using that spark to give its power to another god or demigod to empower them. I want to make full use of the boons from the dmg, having my players who r religious to say prayers to their gods having them know they're being heard. Using their commandments to the fullest may bring about a minor miracle for them in a critical moment.
The funny thing is we did get a taste of what the Spellplague would be like before the event itself happened in the time of troubles when Mystra was slain by Helm it changed the land where she died and the people who lived near it the effects was very similar to the Spellplague in that it drove people insane but because it was only in one area they was able to deal with it better
The closed captions are messed up. 2:17 "Sinusure" is actually spelled "Cynosure" 3:10 "eleadrin" is spelled "eladrin", 6:55 Dweomerheart 7:52 Mhair jungles 8:02 Halruaa... there are lots more. I suggest people go to the forgotten realms wiki because this is basically summarizing the Spellplague page on the wiki using more flowery language. Not saying that's a bad thing, but this video is more soothing and asmr-y than informative due to the language which, while very relaxing, often makes the topic more difficult to understand by fluffing it with extra and unnecessarily complex wording. I actually kind of like that because it's good to put on in the background and relax to... but I tried taking notes from this to learn about the Spellplague and I just couldn't. Mostly due to the captions being a hassle though.
wooooo first comment :D hope your doing good man! Love your lore vids, jam packed with so much info i can use in my current campaign. Keep up the good work but don't forget to take care of yourself!
OMG here's a theory!! what if SOVERUS (or however you spell it), who it says "like a falling star he descended on the realms, his wisdom scattered like STAR DUST" is actually the LUXON from Critical Role. Exandria could've been one of those realms his wisdom, or beacons, were scattered over?! it introduced DUNAMANCY into the world which is similar to divination.
ok i can tell you put a lot of work in and its very polished, but the flowery text on every single sentence is too much. sometimes you dont need 4 desriptors for 1 sentence, sometimes the sentence is enough. to be honest i started tuning out after a bit. it was kinda hard to follow what was going on having to sift thru all the extra fluff to get to the heart of the story. drop the word "like", its in every other sentence.
If we gave gpt-4 a transcription of this video we would probably get the same comment about the "flowery text" following a repetitive pattern way too obviously!

Is it AI voice on top of the script, images and music? Imagine how close we are to not being able to tell AI generated content anymore.

Thanks for the feedback. These are auto created from UA-cam so I'll go through and update to correct all these issues
Thank you! I've been very curious about what happened during the spellplague & your video detailed it beautifully.

Oh, this voice is also AI? I wonder if the texts are actually written by a person 😅
Nice!!! Best one so far!!!
Holy ai
More Ai generated BS

AI generated. Script, narration, images and music. Look how many of these have been generated in a month.
