This farm is still in use although not what it once was. It looks like an old dairy to me. Sadly family owned dairies have been dropping like flies over the last decade due to the rise of commercial ones and tanking milk prices. Sadly all 7 in my home town have done the same when 15 years ago they were the place for a boy to get a job and get started in life. I weep for that family.
There’s a dairy boom going on in Ireland at the moment. Lots of new parlors being built and a 750 acres farm was taken on for rent for dairy here recently, just madness
The Tyres were used To be Placed on silage: Every Year the Farmer would Have his Tractor Drivers go into Grass fields and Use Gigantic Mowers which were towed at the Back of the Tractor: as the Grass was Mown another Tractor and trailer would Be loaded up with Fresh Mown Grass. Trailer load after Trailer load would be Taken to a Barn; where the Mown Grass would be Piled up: A Tractor with a set of Iron Rollers would Press Down the Mown Grass until it was Compacted down. A Plastic sheet would be Placed over the top of the Mown Grass; Over the Coming Months The Grass would Turn Brown like autumn Leaves: when it Becomes that Colour It now is Called Silage: The Cover of Plastic is weighed down with old Tyres ! This serves two or maybe three Purposes (1) To stop wind Blowing the Sheet away (2) to Prevent Air getting in and Causing the Silage to Get Fungi ) and to stop Cows Getting on top. Come winter: the cows would Be able to Get into the Barn and to Eat the Silage. Silage Gives off a Lot Of Steam like that of a Compost heap and it stinks Horrible: Tyres were Given to the Farmers from the Tyre fitters they'd dispose of them
The plastic is from wrapped silage bales, the tyres are used as weights to keep the sheeting down that is used to cover up the silage that is cut by the green claas forage harvesters ( not combine harvesters). The forage harvesters are pulled by the tractor and blown into a trailer, which, can either pulled behind the forage harvester or, a trailer pulled by 2nd tractor usually at the side of the forage harvester. Once the trailers full, its carted back to a silage clamp where its stockpiled. Once the clamps full, its then covered over with plastic sheeting, weighted down with tyres and left to ferment until ready for the coos to eat.....phew!
It breaks my heart to see places like this, what I wouldn't give to have a little land, that was a fairly big farm for the amount of buildings, indoor silage clamp, calf cubicles etc. The jcb loadall was a wicked bit of kit back in it's day we had a 525-67 the same as that on my family farm when I was growing up. They're must have been other tractors once soon a time there's no way those little db's would have pulled the forigers, silage trailers or the 4 furrow plough, very interesting Mr Bond, I'd give my left nut for a place a 1/3 the side of that. Good vid, mad me laugh what you called a few of the bits of kit but like you said you haven't a clue.
Agreed, seems strange places get left like this, a lot of valuable equipment there just rotting away, hopefully someone might do something with it before vandals or thieves get in. 😂 I know, just thought it was worth a guess, at least if we ever go to anymore farms or return we’ll have a little bit more knowledge of the equipment.
The shed at the end is still being used because the cattle crush and gates are new same with the ford tractor in the shed, that tractor will still run...
im sure that tractor is still in use what im wondering is if that ford is the biggest tractor on the farm as it wouldnt pull the plough in the shed which is a 4 furrow

Thanks mate, very interesting place indeed, abandoned and decaying farms are definitely one of the best. Appreciate that, I understand why a lot of people may be bothered by my knowledge of this stuff at the time however I’m glad you can see past it and enjoy the video.
Read the description properly, we said “even some old documents in a little trailer which we didn’t show to respect the owners privacy.” We actually didn’t show a lot of the place we could’ve gone inside the house but we knew there was still a lot of personal possessions inside that we didn’t want to show to everyone. Also we try and respect the owners of any place we visit, all we are trying to do is document these places before they become destroyed.
It was left in an old horse box, the papers were pretty much rotten. This is the thing with this place, they left in a rush pointing to the fact the owners probably died.
I would bring that place right back to life, while maintaining it`s integrity. Make condos, art galleries, workshops. If not too far from town. Could make a really sweet place there. Ran a six-hundred acre ranch like that, up in Oregon.
Goodness me, such wonderful and still perfectly usable tractors there, so strange to leave behind machines to make so much money from! Nice plough there too! How suspicious, as if left in a rush... to hide a dark secret! Hahaha! Anyway, nicely filmed.
Yes, we’re were very surprised when we saw the posts about this place from a few years prior to us visiting on the vast amounts of equipment that was left, and on visiting the farm ourselves the place seemed completely untouched from the images we had seen. I think possibly the owners had died and whoever they left the place to, just hasn’t cleared and sold the property. Thanks very much, glad you enjoyed.

Yea that's still a good tractor, you just need to put some fresh hay on the seat to make it really comfortable. The Lada on the other hand, points to some financial crisis in the farming family.
I went to this place literally in February w a few of my friends it’s changed so much now, like the they’ve cut down the over grown stuff and like some tractors and equipment have gone but my grandparents know the guy who owns it and there is another one in the area which is abondonend
We haven’t been here in a long time, last time we went was when this video was uploaded to the channel, I can imagine a lot of changed, atleast they are taking care of the land, which area is abandoned ?
Agreeing with everyone else it wasn't abandoned. I watched this video half way through last year but didn't think to comment but it came up on my newsfeed so I watched all of it this time. We own a few disused farms that we don't live at but we still use the sheds. A couple lads broke into a lower hay loft and injured their leg after falling through some rotten floorboards. We were held responsible and the boys got off with a broken leg and a bollocking from the police. Point being make sure you actually know its abandoned. If you see fresh tyre marks and new gates don't go near unless you have permission. BTW the black plastic is from a silage bale. And the tyres are for the silage clamp behind them.
Thanks for the info, please be ensured we didn’t break into any buildings, all the entrances that we used were unlocked or open and as you saw the building that was locked we didn’t break anything to get into it, we just left it and we did check the buildings before we actually started filming to make sure we knew which were safe to go into and which were not. We were given info about the place from a few people we got in touch with and we were told that at least one farmer used the access through the farm to access their own fields at the back of this farm. Thanks for the info about the silage though, very interesting to know.
This farm isn’t abandoned its disused but you can see fresh tracks through the farm yard, the hay bales would of rotted or had the rats eaten the baling twine, also one of the tractors has new rear tyres it wouldn’t of just been left like that they would of all been cracked and perished it’s clearly still in use, your just trespassing over a old farm lads land !
Great place lads nice find and if ur finding it hard for videos go back because I know I would love a more detailed video like seeing up close all the tractors etc and really going through the grounds like the car berried in bushes etc just be safe wear masks gloves etc and don't put yourselves at risk.
Thanks, just taking a break at the moment. We may return to youtube we may not. We are trying to find time to film and edit but at this time we have exams etc. Stay subscribed we may return doing UA-cam sometime in the future.
That's a real shame, back in the day that would have been a top farm. There is some good gear there that could still be restored and used again, great vid 👍
We will try however places like this are very rare to come across, most of the places we are able to find are either completely stripped or extremely vandalised.
Apart from the shed out the back and the plough, the rest of the farm is in disuse so I don’t really see why everyone is making a fuss and they’re saying that you don’t know jack shit about machinery but you aren’t from a farming background so why would you know it? They’re just making a fuss about nothing. If you wouldn’t mind in the future at some point could you go back and do a video focused more on the machinery, i think it’d be quite interesting, good video mate
I completely agree go online try and find similar peices of machinery and leave the name of the peice the age and brand and model at the bottom for beginners in this type of thing if you like viewers would tell you the names of the machinery for example the three white ones are David browns possibly 995s 1960 roughly maybe later the black dark grey one is an international b something same era the blue one in the shed with the loader is a ford 6610 or something similar
The one in the distance is hard to make out but I would geuss a David brown also the one in the bush is most likely a ford once David brown shut down alot of farmers turned to ford instead in the early 70s I believe maybe later the red car was a lada Riva good work guys try go back and get maybe closer to the harder to reach ones👍
thanks for uploading . as another commented its a shame to see a once productive farm yard not used . but the truth here is these buildings don't work for modern industrial farming . there are some more modern buildings here that are used , and someone is picking out any good hay bales but that is it . i would say an old boy lived there and when he died or whatever there was either no-one to take over or nobody wanted to take it on and it got absorbed into a larger farm operation . its not so much abandoned as derelict . i have a couple of old barn myself that although they did work once , no modern machinery will fit and so they are useless . pretty , but useless . working by hand is not an option anymore .
I want sum of that machinery & tractors teleporter shame it’s left there rotting.. few hours tinkering bet they all be running again.. the shed with the Ford in is 100% been used.. nice find tho
The farms not abondoned fresh tyre tracks straight through a jcb loader with was made between 1995 to 99 a lemkin plough in the shed by the look of the mould boards it has been used in the last year the hay isn't there long as the rats would have eaten through the twine holding them together and then trailed claas silage harvesters were made around the year 2000

Cool guys but you walked past all the interesting stuff like when you got under the gate into the shed and stood filming old tyres and black plastic on the ground when there was a cool old Ford tractor in the shed you should have had a look at that but still a cool video 👍
Cool old dairy farm! I assume you did not have permission to enter, tresspassing can be detrimental to a person's health.. just saying. As others have said, it's not abandoned, looks like the JCB loader has been used recently...and a lot of traffic in the yard. Also, sure looks like there's still livestock somewhere..... The tires and plastic would have been to cover the silage pile... I also like the two old Claas forage harvesters (silage choppers) that you called combines...
How exactly can trespassing be detrimental to a persons health? Also yes I got some of the equipment wrong which I have already admitted to so many commenters and I have also stated I really do not care.
@@exploringwithatj3716 where I'm from, treespassers are usually seen through a rifle scope, those doing damage or causing harm find out how big of a rifle... I do have to commend you for a nice video! It is a very cool old facility!! I also like the newer part too! As for you being mistaken on the equipment, I did not intend to offend, only to educate, as many people do care what it actually is.. and for those who do not know, it is better to correctly educate them, than for them to think it's something it is not! I do like your video, you have done a great job of showing what you could!! If possible, you should try to get permission.... It would be much safer. But, if you can't find anyone to ask.... Just be careful and be safe!!!! And hope that if the property owner sees your videos, that they're cool with it, after all.. legally, it is video evidence if they choose to file any changes... Once again, be safe!!
Nice find guys... Best thing to do guys if your running low on explore is film other things too keep your channel going I'm in the same boat not so much out here now so I have to travel further afield which means money and time off work ... Oh the struggle lol
+Escape The Wild -Urbex & Ruin hunter- we just find these places are vanishing and the remaining places have security and power now if there's power there's likely to be alarms etc and for 30 views it's not worth the risk. I don't know about other videos possibly just keep an eye out.
The tyres are used to compact the silage pit great videos love the farm exploring but if u could show a bit more detail such as having looks at the machines and stuff great vid
That ford was hardly left there it looked in fairly good nick and so did the loadall and them David Browns were very easily restored if that is abandoned since 2001 it's a wonder none of the gear was ever stolen and if the business did go into liquidation y wasn't the machinery sold on would of added up to a nice sum
I guess none of it has been stollen or damaged as the location is very secluded and not many people even know about it. Doesn’t say why the equipment wasn’t sold however when businesses do go into liquidation not all equipment needs to be sold, if the owner has the cash sum to pay the debt then that could’ve been the reason. Either way there is very little information about this place but according to companies house that’s what happened.
Yeah I was thinking a dairy farm because of the blue coloured metal container in one of the buildings which I was thinking could’ve been used to collect the milk from the cattle in. Cheers for the info.
Not sure mate, we couldn’t really find any info ourselves, no it’s not in Yorkshire. If you don’t mind me asking, why do you need to get in contact with the owner?
@@exploringwithatj3716 ya well it was only a rough guess u admitted urself u know nothing about farming and I was only judging the 2 years thing by how clean any farmer around woll tell you gates don't stay that shiny for long

@@richardfenlon9262 thank you so much (: we hope you enjoyed, and we appreciate the ones that understand our lack of information
@@exploringwithatj3716 keep up the good work and don't mind the "haters"
Sad to see some ones lost dreams. A life style slipped away heart breakin from
New to ur channel!!!!
Is the farm still abandoned 5 years on. Or a housing estate now???
We have no idea, haven’t been there since the upload
The jcb wheels look brand new
thanks for uploading . as another commented its a shame to see a once productive farm yard not used . but the truth here is these buildings don't work for modern industrial farming . there are some more modern buildings here that are used , and someone is picking out any good hay bales but that is it . i would say an old boy lived there and when he died or whatever there was either no-one to take over or nobody wanted to take it on and it got absorbed into a larger farm operation . its not so much abandoned as derelict . i have a couple of old barn myself that although they did work once , no modern machinery will fit and so they are useless . pretty , but useless . working by hand is not an option anymore .
thank you for the comment, it is a real shame to see a farm llike this and its equipment to go to waste
I would like to know where the farm is because I am a machinery restorer and plus I am looking for tractor
Sorry, due to vandalism and a few other concerns we do not give out the locations of our explores.
Wherr is this please
Whereabouts is the abandoned farm cub
dont disclose locations, hope you enjoyed, if so drop a like a nd sub, check out recent content too (:
Where is this?
How much will land owner sell old tractor for
3:11 that’s a David brown
Now that's a tyre pile
I wonder if that jcb is for sale, pitty it sitting there wasting away would buy it. does anyone know who the owner is?
Where about is this farm?
Sorry, we cannot disclose the locations to avoid vandalism etc.
Well done lads...
I want sum of that machinery & tractors teleporter shame it’s left there rotting.. few hours tinkering bet they all be running again.. the shed with the Ford in is 100% been used.. nice find tho
I could give that jcb. grass cutter and loader attachments a home
new holland man I think they’ll have a better home with me 😍😍
The farms not abondoned fresh tyre tracks straight through a jcb loader with was made between 1995 to 99 a lemkin plough in the shed by the look of the mould boards it has been used in the last year the hay isn't there long as the rats would have eaten through the twine holding them together and then trailed claas silage harvesters were made around the year 2000
we are aware of what it looks like, but trust us when we say its abandoned, we hope you enjoyed (:
Does anyone know why it became abandoned? I’m just curious.
no sorry, if you enjoyed drop a like and maybe subscribe?
@@exploringwithatj3716 it was most likely large stock farm it most likely ran out of money u will find large amount of hectares being still farmed around farm yard, hence tracks through yard i have been to russia many times on big farms seen this all the time a lot of politics around these farms.did u notice sign on left of gate@ 9.50 in english work it out for your selves, most russian people in country side have no english.

before you comment...this video was made over a year ago, when we were new to the exploring scene, as a result we were un-informed of the items and farming equipment shown in the video. Furthermore, regarding trespassing allegations, within the UK it is a civil offence and as long as no damage is done to the property and we take only photos and leave only footprints what we do is essentially harmless and for the exploring community, please keep this in mind when watching, as we appear to be annoying many of you with our lack of knowledge at the time. we hope you enjoyed the video, please leave a like, comment and maybe subscribe because we explore abandoned buildings (:
England has some of the most beautiful countryside in the whole world. There`s something so nice about it. There are so many beautiful places in this world.

Hey, i was wondering where this is, because i am interested in buying some land so if you could get in touch that would he brilliant. 🖒
The "digger" is actually a telehandler the " " combine havester " trailed forage havester lol
Exactly
we were not aware, sorry if our lack of knowlage was frustrating in any way, i hope you enjoyed the video
Cool guys but you walked past all the interesting stuff like when you got under the gate into the shed and stood filming old tyres and black plastic on the ground when there was a cool old Ford tractor in the shed you should have had a look at that but still a cool video 👍
Hi guys. Thanks for the latest vid!!

It can’t be abandoned there is way to much stuff
If i was there id bring my truck n tool kit n start them all up and race em
ahahaha, lol, we hope you enjoyed the video, if so bes sure to drop a like, and we have newer content on our channel too! (:
Great vide they are not combine harvesters they are forage harvesters for silage
thank you, you are the first person who hasn't got mad at our lack of knowledge while pointing it out
Cool old dairy farm!
At 2:30 it looks like a David Brown 90 series tractor in the back.
good spot! we arent really aware of tractor models, but thanks for telling us (: hope you enjoyed, drop a like and maybe subscribe
1390 i’d say
Nice find guys... Best thing to do guys if your running low on explore is film other things too keep your channel going I'm in the same boat not so much out here now so I have to travel further afield which means money and time off work ... Oh the struggle lol
+Escape The Wild -Urbex & Ruin hunter- we just find these places are vanishing and the remaining places have security and power now if there's power there's likely to be alarms etc and for 30 views it's not worth the risk. I don't know about other videos possibly just keep an eye out.
Abandoned my arse lol fresh hay in the barn. And looks like any standard used farm
Hay is still there couple years after our visit, started to rot away now though.
The tyres are there to put on top of the silage when wrapped with plastic sheets
No offence but 375 subscribers that's sad
nice knowlage!!! if you enjoyed dont forget to leave a like and subscribe(: thanks for watching
Why is 375 subs sad? We are gaining over 20 a day with this video gaining thousands of views a day.
Come back the house is that way! I thought you thought it was abandoned
the plastic is for covering the salage in the pit and the tires weigh on top of the plastic
nice knowledge! we hope you enjoyed
The tyres are used to compact the silage pit great videos love the farm exploring but if u could show a bit more detail such as having looks at the machines and stuff great vid
Looks like the silage pit was full
@@williamgibb8935 it wasn’t
where is this
sorry, we dont leak locations
The tyres would have been used to cover the silage clamp
Looks as if there was still silage under them
Some people are restarted the farms fucking abandoned some other farmer must just use the yard for storage
See if the telehandler can start hahahah
lol, hope you enjoyed the video
@@exploringwithatj3716 I did haha
@@josh-qh6ln thank you lol. we appreciate it
You should’ve tried starting a tractor on that farm
kenny407 tire marks last forever on a farm as there is noyhing moving i know as iv done a few in my time
Okay smarty pants, explain the fresh hay in the ring feeder.
Adandoned dairy farm , the pile of tyres would have been used to cover a silage clamp. Think the old estate car was a Lada.
Yeah I was thinking a dairy farm because of the blue coloured metal container in one of the buildings which I was thinking could’ve been used to collect the milk from the cattle in. Cheers for the info.
Where's this at please
Sorry, we aren’t giving out the location of this place.
@@exploringwithatj3716 how can I get in contact with owner? is it Yorkshire?
Not sure mate, we couldn’t really find any info ourselves, no it’s not in Yorkshire. If you don’t mind me asking, why do you need to get in contact with the owner?
@@exploringwithatj3716 I would like to buy some stuff
Plus the gates in that last shed there no more than 2 years old
Hmmm I find it hard to believe you can evaluate the age of a gate from a video if I am honest. Either way hope you enjoyed the video.
@@exploringwithatj3716 ya well it was only a rough guess u admitted urself u know nothing about farming and I was only judging the 2 years thing by how clean any farmer around woll tell you gates don't stay that shiny for long

thank you, be sure to subscribe if you enjoyed
Just because there are old falling apart buildings didn't mean it was abandent because them shed might not be any use to the farmer who May own it and he could have a better Up to date farm somewhere else and he may be farmming the land for winter silage or grazzin for cattle . And there is also a new crush at the end of the video it may not look like it to yous
it is local knowledge that it is abandoned, whether it looks like it or not, we hope you enjoyed the video either way
