It says it's a stereo delay but when I demo it it only seems to be in mono. Would I need to use two instances? The GUI seems a bit buggy too and keeps changing size. Is there no default set function? The sound quality and look is great but it seems quite pricey to me.
yeah, it seems like the unit works in mono or dual mono if on stereo configuration (not sure), no additional side information when you feed a mono signal into it. I don't know how it is with the hardware but while it sounds good, the features are kinda outdated if compared to other delays IMO. An offset function could be lovely.
in the old version in clk mode you could choose host and tempo values independently , basically any combination you want. in this version to my big unpleasant surprise they crippled the whole plugin by forcing the user to choose from a limited preset list? 3/16 or anything besides a small list of 30 so presets - not possible anymore. i dont understand why would you make the stupidest decision to ruin the biggest feature of the whole plugin?
So glad for this update. I have had the original for what seems like decades and loved it. The gain level on your video is very low... I have my Aurora N cranked and its real low
Lexicon PSP42 now offers three alternative modes: Clean: a pristine signal path with no emulations Lims: engages the original hardware’s two opto limiters, one at the input and one just before the A/D - the first affecting Dry and Wet signals, and the second affecting Wet and Feedback signals Full: engages emulation not only of the limiters but also of the original A/D and D/A converters in the hardware PCM 42, whose non-linear behavior added a unique sonic twist.
One of the rare cases in which the demo track is interesting. Great plugin!
Very nice demo of a very nice emulation of a very nice hardware unit! 😁
If this is stereo delay how do I get left to out put 1/8 dotted and right channel to output 1/4 triplet?
It's great! Unfortunately there is no pingpong but we have psp 84 )))
The original this emulation is modelled on did not have any ping pong in its box either ))
@@saintneversday That's why it sucks.
Give a try to PSP 285

Great plugin. Thanks for the demonstration. What track is that? Is it released already?

Hey Ed, peculiar. This video is normalized 0.6dB by youtube. --> Volume / Normalized 6% / 6% (content loudness -0.6dB)
This plugin could of been good but it's MONO ONLY. That sucks.
What do you mean by that? It isn't true.
Does this version also include the limiter from the original hardware?

Yea…but…Soundtoys 🤔
There is no accounting for tastes ;-)
Which Soundtoys plug does everything the PSP 42 does?
