This is not Stone Bunny; it is Pentagram. It was recorded in the fall of '71 during the band's 2nd line-up of Bobby, Geof O'Keefe and John Jennings on guitar, Vincent McAllister on bass and Steve Martin on drums. It is correct that this is the only recording. For the record, I am Geof, and both the tape deck and original tape are sitting in my living room. It's unfortunate the flood of mislabeled bootlegs have led to a lot of misinformation being stated as "fact."
Dude, Geof, thanks for the music. Got me through some tough times. I bet it was an all around fun blaze of cannabis smoke, beers and LSD. Sorry, just fan girling. Have a good rest of 'em, and don't waste 'em. Unless that's what you want to do. Happy hunting. -CEF
Didn't know Liebling wrote this song! Like most others, I discovered it on Witchcraft's debut album, though, I can say that I knew Magnus Pelander is a huge fan of Pentagram and Witchcraft is pretty much our generations Pentagram. Good stuff!
I've listened to Witchcraft for almost 20 years and didn't know this was a cover. Holy Shit, mind blown. Love Pentagram and Witchcraft. Two of the best bands of all time.
FOR THE RECORD ! Geof O'Keefe is the 'last word' on any of these obscure/unreleased recordings. What he says stands, and his knowledge on the early years of PENTAGRAM are unimpeachable. PERIOD! He was co-founder and drummer for the band during the 1971-1976 period. During which a phenomenal amount of their songs were written and recorded. Geof is not stupid or annoying...just knows the facts because he was there and basically no one else...with the lone exception of the band members themselves.
41 Years of Pentagram!!! LAST DAYS HERE documentary premiered in L.A. last Friday, March 23, 2012 to sold out show, RAVE reviews (NY Times, LA Times, Village Voice, L.A. Record and Huffington Post). Bobby and Hallie Liebling attended and Bobby reunited with his Co-creator, Geof O'Keefe who has a new CD, BEDEMON'S "Symphony of Shadows" due May, 2012 AND a PENTAGRAM historical book in the works!
Shit!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Had the Witchcraft version for some years now, and have been into Pentagram for much longer than that, only just found out that this was originally Pentagram anyhow!!! Although given the obvious influence Witchcraft took anyhow I should have clicked on. This must be early Bobby on here?? Either way........................Doom Metal throughout!!!!!!!!!!!!! Fuckion love this music!!!!!!!!!! Stay Metal People!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Can you please upload the rest of these unreleased tracks. For instance Bang it Out, I'll Certainly See You in Hell, Loser, Windmills and Chimes, Wood and Stone, Rape, Run My Course, Call The Man and I think 20 Buck Spin and Target. There are so much more these are just off the top of my head that I can't find anywhere.
@thosewerethedaze acually I think his name is Jennings. coz of lack in interesst for heavy music, (McAllister) the bassist at this time picked up the guitar eventually, im not really sure when, but he was awsome indeed! both McAllister and randy palmer from (Bedemon) are dead today, may they rest in peace
Note to All...Geof O'Keefe is the primary - and ACCURATE - source of anything relating to early Pentagram days. He is the creator and musical historian. Any questions, ask him. Also...keep an eye out for future works of this amazing, creative force, including more of Bedemon, (among other projects.) Yes, I agree...Geof O'Keefe rules...and totally rocks (my world, especially)
ME TOO! Wasn't i pleasantly surprised to also find this out. I discovered the fact while listening to Stone Bunny and thinking, hey, I know this song. This is a Witchcraft song! Nope! So good, regardless of who wrote it.
I wanted to know, what the future would bring as I looked out the dark cave of my life. I can predict anything that will be, you’d have it tough too, if you lived like me.

Hello Geof, any chance to got the tape officially released? I love this song and old 70s rehearsal materials so so much.
Thanks dearly Geof for the correction
Ahh the gods of heavy metal have met here in this comment section.

Geof, I just want to let you know that I think Pentagram is one of the greatest bands to walk the earth.
Bobby sounds so much like Ian Anderson here...

Fantastic song, thanks :)
Witchcraft (Sweden) did a kickass cover on their '04 debut...
Witchcraft started out as Pentagram cover band. Before they made their own songs.

Awesome. The doom metal sounds and attitude well predated, before it came a thing in the late 80's.

If you listen to witchcraft and pentagram alot you will notice that witchcraft took alot of pentagram lyrics and melodies
I wish Pentagram had elaborated on this.

@tonsorock Geof O'Keefe YOU FU@#ING RULE MAN
You should catalog this stuff, dude! What other gems do you have in the vault? And, what's the story with Stone Bunny?
I didn't know this was originally written by bobby liebling. I allways thought it was by witchcraft
