"I don't see how that was remotely dangerous" - If a player has to do well to stop himself from landing on his head, the tackle is probably a bit dangerous, mate
Irish bias on the commentary hillarious.. tip tackle is a tip tackle simple as that . Take a players legs over the horizontal and you're asking for trouble
thats wrong bias is always england and wales im always on side of ireland as they are clean this match was won on mistakes by ireland 2 points is notting like ireland won in wales many times in wales and ireland where not bias then so remember both lands are celts
thomas pollock mistakes are also forced errors. Giving away a penalty under pressure is not the mark of a good team. Ireland needed composure and were largely in the lead because wales were missing kicks. Wales would have been at least 12 points ahead if they had kicked accurately. Ireland were a worse team that day
Can’t say I’m surprised that the Irish 18 was ‘taken out’ by Wales’ lock Bradley Davies. The 18 had flown in on Wales scrum-half Mike Roberts in. Really dangerous way... many would say he had it coming.
I would have carded Conor Murray for that blatant slide with the legs after Jonathan Davies's try, he could have broken his ankle with that petulant footballers tackle
Agreed. As an Irishman, that was a dirty late tackle and World Rugby needs to stop this. I still have a rupture in my back courtesy of an opposition fatty when scoring a try 20 odd years ago!
Michael Morgan No Irish fans are great. I’m Welsh and if I’m honest, had that been a penalty against Wales I would have been booing the kicker too. We were very lucky to win that one.
6:58 he did lift him past the horizontal, but didn't drive him into the pitch... It's not like the tackle in Bryn O'Driscol by the New Zealand center (I apologise for not knowing the name - I can't google it or will lose this post) O'Driscol was driven to the grown - it was even admitted that the All Blacks wanted him out of the game A.S.A.P. n T U I think are the initials of the center said on a TV sport program There is a difference and the ref's do an amazing job along with the players to know the difference
I've been in Ireland many times watching the match in a pub, and man alive, the commentary is so biased it's unreal. I asked my Welsh friend who lived and worked in Ireland what the hell was going on, he said not to worry it's quite normal.
refs decision was the right decision, it was a foul tackle so penalty, but it was not a yellow card. bradley davies was lucky with the earlier tackle for which he got a yellow, but it's at the discretion of the ref. it was a borderline yellow and red, and i think personally yellow was the right decision for bradley davies. the refereeing in this game was fine.
I'm so fired up to watch Scotland in the upcoming Six Nations after watching this. I'm going to Paris for France vs Scotland, that should kick things off nicely. Anyone putting money Scotland to win the tournament? Good bet IMO.
Wayne Barns won so many tight games for Wales in the 2010s no wonder they're GS teams couldn't challenge New Zealand South Africa or Australia they just got handed the arm wrestle games by Barns
Fucking Irish commentator... Bradley Davis let his man go, but arguably should have been sent off. He wasnt, because the Ref never saw it and the touch judge said he had, and it was just a yellow. Then right under the ref's nose.... a Paddy lifts, twists and drives a Welsh player downwards... without letting go.... and the Irish commentator throws all the toys out of the pram
@Dave Roberts: A very good summing up. Ferris simply wasn't strong enough to lift him higher, but the intent was absolutely blatant, not letting him fall but driving forcefully as headfirst as he could get him. I'm not quite sure why Dave Pearson (linesman) recommended yellow instead of red for Davies, but it could have gone very red, Ferris, however, was lucky he wasn't stronger!
Bradley Davies tackle was red but he was provoked by foul play by the Irish 18 who used his shoulder which was possibly a yellow card. So Davies only getting yellow kinda balanced things out.
Ceri James I know I am just on holiday and watching a few Wales games. Had a few beers. Caught in the moment but still can’t believe how biased the commentary was.
The English and iris forwards are the stupidest bar none at giving away stupid pointless penalties for killing the ball and going off their feet and hands in the ruck.....They just can't help themselves. ....lol
Good to see the legendary Irish respect for the kicker right at the end there.
Considering that wasn't a penalty it's fairly understandable really.
Eoghan O'Sullivan bullshit! it was a penalty that was a definite attempt at a tip tackle even the player could see that
Yeah, because I'm going to give the benefit of the doubt to Wayne fucking Barnes amn't I?
+Eoghan O'Sullivan what the referee says is law
Eoghan O'Sullivan You could perhaps if there was any doubt. But there wasn't so no need. Any fucking moron could see that's a penalty.
One of Norths best games for Wales
"I don't see how that was remotely dangerous" - If a player has to do well to stop himself from landing on his head, the tackle is probably a bit dangerous, mate
Cracking game- Welsh fan here - should defo been a red for B Davies tho'
It is an even better win,,,,than after all these years. I am a great admirer of the Irish game,,,,but, up yours Mr Matthews!
Wales is stout and fantastic,I Wish the great Slam 2021 to him!!
"I did not see that as being remotely dangerous" Amazing. And they accuse JD of being biased.
That Irish commentator, whatever his name is, is one of the most biased commentators I’ve ever heard. It’s never irelands fault with him.
Why do Ireland get away with sliding with their knees into players that have just scored a try
why did wales getting away with dirty play
thomas pollock

Tupical
Not sure who does it in this video but I've noticed Conor Murray especially has done it multiple times
It cheers them up , maybe a rule change of having a yellow card and ten minutes rest could help all nations to behave themselves.
"That's a definite try".
A rare instance of Phil Matthews making ANY comment which is pro-opposition.
I agree, it’s always seems very bias.

as a welshman it was a definite red!
I'm Welsh and yeah it was a red! But we still would have won! Just the better team on the day!!!
i miss this wales. we had a bit of it in 2019 but 2020 was a shitshow

Never seen a more obvious penalty but the commentator denies it 😂

Strange, didn’t think Irish fans booed kickers!
Mark Donovan Irish rugby fans are the scummiest about. Much like English football fans.
Michael Morgan No Irish fans are great. I’m Welsh and if I’m honest, had that been a penalty against Wales I would have been booing the kicker too. We were very lucky to win that one.

Munster fans at Thomond park is who youre thinking of. We don't speak for the rest.
who was the Irish commentator? I hope he's reviewed this many times since and removed his name from the ´available to commentate´ list.

I guess ‘please respect the kicker’ went out the window
Ireland still crying here over their hammering by Wales in the world cup a year earlier
Wales are tier 2 now so who cares
Now it’s the other way round.
RIP Eddie
if you give red to bradley davies you have to give red for the headbut 7:57 7:58
What are your thoughts on the tackles of Ferris and Bradley Davies? Both which resulted in yellow cards
I believe Ferris' tackle would have been worse if Faletau hadn't helped Evans land safely. I think the intention was dangerous.
Red penalty and no yellow penalty
I think both red but if off the ball match bans also.
Davies spent 10 minutes in the bin, Ferris 1 minute- Wales penalised more.
Cymru am Byth 🏴
Amazing
Stephen ferris' tackle was a penalty even the famously blind irish can see that. But it wasn't a yellow and bradley davies should have been sent off.
+Jacob Smith I thought exactly the same before reading your comment
Jacob Smith mate I wouldn't be slagging the Irish with the state that wales are in now
Robbie Johnston lol scotland
it was yellow he didnt bring the player down safely and made no attempt to.
Ahem
Is it possible to have the match timer in the later videos?

Great bet... for the bookies
The Bradley Davies challenge was awful, no need for it. Definite red, could of broke his neck
Wales Wales Wales Wales etc........
wales should have given a red
pollocks
How was Davies not red carded? I’m Welsh and that’s a red any day of the week
Couldn’t agree more. Bradley Davies is a thug, should have been red. And I’m Welsh.
Davies let go, never a red.

100% correct.
Under today’s rule a red against Irish 18. Deliberate shoulder into a players head. No mitigation. Should be long ban
