The Soilwork effect: listen to new single... feel unsure of it... tell yourself you aren’t going to write it off completely... tell yourself you’re going to listen again... find yourself humming parts of the song to yourself... listen to the song again... love it/like it.
that kinda seems to be the rutine :) Hated the ride majestic song when it first came out. Then gave it 2 3 more tries, then I loved it.
Monkey Spunk that's exactly how I feel about every Soilwork release since Sworn to a Great Divide. It doesn't matter how strange it sounds at first, I know I'll be loving it soon..
It took ages while i fell in love with the Predator's portrait album. I don't know... Probably i hadn't been insane enough! 😄
Dude I had the same reaction. I heard this back in January before it released...and kinda got an "I'm not too sure" vibe. Now...months later...it's one of my faves from the album!
Tbh, I understand that we'll never get a "stabbing the drama" album ever again, but that's okay. This isn't growing on me yet, but I'll keep giving it a listen and see if it changes. It usually does for me. Very rarely do I hear a new song for the first time and love it right away

They are always Evolving. And i Love that. Sounds nothing like arrival, so im expecting another juggernaut of a diverse Album.

Got-damn, that opening & closing lick, with that power grove that kicks in at the beginning. WOO!! I'm digging this. It's different, but still Soilwork. Like how people grow up and evolve over time. Usually they are the same person, just carved out differently over time because of experiences and time. But they have the same history, name, possible goals, and same spirit.
It seems like the new album will be super interesting! Another great number of experiments and new music.

Absolutely different from Arrival but i love it! Can see where people are coming from with these TNFO comments.
But then i remember that Departure Plan also had a very different vibe than the more usual-heavier Soilwork vibe.

It's kinda similar to the chorus of The Draconian Arrival and Extinction Mantra
I feel it has something to do with the vocal layering. It screams SS to me. Which, as you said, is awesome
At the Movies introduced me to this great voice AND he knows how to do screams properly
Apart from the animated one for Stalfagel, this could be the best Soilwork music video in years. The effects make it visually quite appealing.

not sure but this is a favorite of mine, it's like a ballad. I listen to soil work while studying, while lifting... I used to drink to soil work in 2008 lol... fucking great band. one of my favorite bands.
I personally don't approach to this kind of rock music. But since I heard this song, I fell in love with the sound of the band

Growing up in a metal heavy City like Chicago. I was reminded of what happened to my friend who was a singer of a band called dead youth. Who suddenly popped out his eyeball and bursted some veins one day after growling out what obviously had to be the deathiest vocals from Hell itself.
Old vibes are never coming back...

So far, very pleased with both songs released from this album so far. Both are unique to themselves but share the fact that both have alot of depth to them and upon mutiple listens, I am catching new bits. Love it. You guys are, forever on my top 5 musicians of all time.
