Great to see you visiting one of my favourite places for birding. Looking forward to coming to Toronto in June to see some of the places in your videos.
Nice. Short Eared Owl is a bit of a lifetime nemesis for me. I've been to places where they are supposed to be plentiful (here in Ontario) and still haven't seen one. Snow Bunting is a bit of a 2023 nemesis, it's not part of my 250 birds yet. I'm away this weekend and am hoping to see it. Thanks for the location tips. Always enjoy visiting The UK, but it's tight to cram everything in! Norfolk is also on my list.
4:54, their are actually 3 snipes in this shot, cool. 8:00, correct me if im wrong but im pretty sure you have a blue morph snow goose with its head up here, in the middle of the shot, dark grayish goose with pure white head.
Good eye Malcolm. Yeah, I agree, Snow Goose. I was so focused on the Ross's Goose, I didn't see that 😂 There was a staff member up there calling out the birds, and he didn't mention it either. I mentioned in another comment that I forget that I'd seen several Red Kites, too. So 68 birds, in the end.
Hi, thought I'd mention the "snow goose" is not really a snow goose. It is a hybrid snow goose x bar-headed goose that regularly feeds on the reserve. Probably an escapee. It is very hard to tell it's a hybrid when it's distant though!
I just recently came across your videos, I was born in the Uk but have lived in the USA for many years, although once an avid birder,if I remember correctly the name was twitcher, I am now a casual birder happy with seeing a starling as much as a golden winged warbler,I was just curious about the avocets you saw in Delaware, where they at Bombay hook ?
Hey David, thanks for following and for your comment. Yep! Twitcher is definitely the term of choice over there haha. My interest began to form in The UK not long before I moved to Canada, but most of my birding has been in The Great White North. Did you spend long in The UK? Where abouts? You're correct, the American Avocets were seen at Bombay Hook in early March. Would love to go back there sometime, the whole of that general area was excellent.
@@BritHikesOntario Thank you for your reply, I was born in the Liverpool area and moved to the USA in 1984 at the age of 22 , I always liked being in nature, actually it kept me out of a lot of trouble haha, I didn’t start birding until I moved to the states but I have very fond memories of Bombay hook i saw a number of lifers there!
Your 'Ring-necked' Pheasant at 2:32 is just a Common Pheasant. 👍
Same thing. Ring-necked Pheasant is the North American common name.
Ah ok thanks.@@BritHikesOntario
Seeing 66 birds in England was stupendous.
Yep, quite a few lifers amongst them, too :)
Great to see you visiting one of my favourite places for birding. Looking forward to coming to Toronto in June to see some of the places in your videos.
Thanks Christine. Hope you have a great trip over here!
66 was quite good in the end 👍
Yep! Sorry there weren't more Filthy Dunnocks 😂
Great video as always. Incredible birds over there in the UK!
Thanks! 😊
Congrats. Highly recommend a trip to Severn Beach, might see Short Eared Owls, Snow Buntings etc.

Another great video well done.
Thank you 😊👍
Love the birds they bring much joy😊💕
Thanks a lot for watching 😀
Great video. Looks to me like the top left thrush in the tree at 3:37 is a redwing. A little distant though so I may be wrong
Quite possible, yeah. Thanks 👍

You got 2 birds i have never seen!
Which two?
Ross's Goose and Russian white fronted goose.

Great video as usual, but slight typo.
Little Grebe is Tachybaptus ruficollis.
Larus fuscus is the Lesser black-backed gull.
Oops, good eye.

Haha no worries David. I work with a scouser and they're trouble, too 😉
Your 'Dunlin' at 5:31 is another Ruff I'm afraid.
I received advice on that one...haha..... On further inspection, I think you're right. Another Ruff.
Is your brother Chris??
Yes
@BritHikesOntario he's my next door neighbour, cracking chap 👍
That's a pretty funny coincidence 😂
