- Here are two of Waste Management San Gabriel Pomona Valley's mini garbage trucks working in the condos in Diamond Bar:
(0:00) - 311539: Here is our McNeilus rear loader with one of the many new drivers, Gary, behind the wheel. Gary does the trash piece for the entire Burro route in this truck, replacing the little Wayne rear loader since that truck has been having some major issues. I'm glad I caught him where I did because of all the 32 gallon trash carts around here.
(1:48) - 106418: Here is something different and definitely exciting - the former Universal Waste Systems (UWS) truck #310! I've been tracking 106418 for well over a year since it came into WM's possession in September 2018. I started going by the All American Paint Shop in Fontana, and when I first went by, I noticed a UWS Mack Amrep inside the paint booth. Thinking it was just UWS repainting their trucks, I didn't grab a pic that day. A few days later, a driver from Santa Ana messaged me asking if GI had transferred one of the UWS minis to Santa Ana, as he had seen a UWS mini in the yard. He told me that the truck was at All American getting painted, and I then realized that the truck I had actually seen was a UWS truck being painted into WM colors! My brother and I went out to the paint shop again and saw it sitting outside freshly painted. I sent Moises some pictures of it, and as I was driving home, he called me telling me this wasn't #312 or #314, which were the trucks GI got from UWS. I realized this truck had a top mounted tank versus side (I know, can't believe I missed that), and that the chrome caps were in the exact same pattern as on #310. I later found out that night that Santa Ana was looking for a mini to replace the shuttle, and so their director of ops reached out to Mike from GI asking how he got the UWS minis. Mike referred them to UWS, and soon, this truck was in WM's possession. Santa Ana eventually started using it, however, it kept breaking down. It was sent to Corona for a little bit to try and replace their junky GMC Amreps, but this truck was too tall. It was then sent to LA Metro, but they never used it, and so it finally ended up with me here in San Gabriel Valley! This truck has been a terrific addition to the fleet. Recently, it took over the recycle portion of the route with Jesse driving. He finishes recycle by 10, then dumps and comes back to help Gary with trash. The two are able to finish the entire area by 1:30, which is significantly earlier than before. On Wednesdays and Fridays, this truck is a spare and actually comes to Arcadia as a help truck semi-frequently. I love how it looks with the standard Alcoa rims and WM mudflaps, and am just thrilled that Baldwin Park has a new Mack in the fleet.
Big thanks to the awesome WM drivers for letting me grab some videos and for always working hard! Glad you guys are part of the team! - Авто та транспорт
Man the LEU/Amrep HX450 combo is so cool
The mini Mack was a huge treat to watch! The revving sounded really good and it just looked fantastic! Awesome video!
Love that truck! Thanks!
Nice to see you uploading more frequently Aaron. What a nice surprise to see a former UWS unit in WM colors.
Thanks! Certainly a welcomed surprise!
Took me a second to remember that CNG Mack Amrep was CNG. Excellent video!
Haha! Wish it was an old E7 engine instead! Thanks for the comment!
Ah man a revving CNG Mack Amrep ASL? That thing sounded great for being CNG! Cool to see you got a Mack in your yard. Lucky... lol nice work Aaron!
Really happy it came to San Gabriel! Thanks!
Great video
This is great WMmaster626, I have been looking forward to this video for awhile now. The mini Mack Amrep sure performs well and is fun to watch in the small condo streets. It would be helpful if all the residents would space the carts out more push the carts a little further into the street. I cannot get over how great the Mack looks in WM colors, we are lucky Baldwin Park acquired this amazing truck. I like the sticker that some of the Cascades have, glad you got a few clips of Gary in the McNeilus too. I look forward to more videos of the Mackrep in the future.
Thank you! Excited to finally have video of this truck! That would certainly help but I doubt most people even know an automated truck is coming by now. Part of why I and several other drivers didn't think this route was even automateable. Excited to see this truck around town more often!
Nice video👌
Awesome video, this ones going to the favorites for sure! Although the two trucks that used to do this area were cool, these have definitely peaked my interest. The packer on that rear loader is so fun to watch, although everything about that one is cool. That Amrep was a whole new level of awesome though, and it’s back story is so neat too. That thing looks so nice after the repaint, and it looks really sharp collecting the black carts too. That last shot was really cool too, overall very nice work on the video!
Thanks!! So glad these trucks are still interesting, I was thrilled when the LEU came to the yard. Looks amazing and they're actually taking great care of it which is awesome. Thanks for the comment man!
ok this is the content i signed up for; anyways that mack looks so clean. great video!
Haha thanks dude!
I love this mini route! 418 sure has a cool story attached to it but its nice to see it found a home
One of the coolest routes in the valley! Super happy it ended up with me of all yards haha. Thanks for the comment as always!!!
Dam Baldwin park has a cooler fleet than us now....The mini mack was so cool! Nice to see you finally somewhat got your hopes of your yard getting a Mack Amrep, even if it wasn’t an oldie lol
Haha! I have to say, I haven't been bored with the fleet lately. Certainly is nice, and the new rims they put on it just make the truck look even better
Nice work! Super cool to see the M5 handling carts that well. Awesome to see the Mack too, I wonder why UWS is willing to get rid of them so easily. Awesome job Aaron!
Thank you! If I recall, Tony said they were looking to get rid of it anyway since none of their contracts at the time required a mini so it worked out well for us!
Have to say for a CNG that didn't sound too bad. Also enjoyed the RL as well. Great video!
Lol all you guys have been brainwashed to hate CNG 😆. Thanks for the comment
WMmaster626 Lmao, i just don’t like the wheezing sound of CNG lol
Awesome video! I remember going to that route last winter. Boy have things changed there. The drivers that used to do this route retired, right? The new drivers for this route look like they're handling it well!
Thanks! Yep lot of changes. Those guys did retire and these new guys are doing great here!
Great Video! I enjoyed the video! You’ve done it again! I enjoyed the Mack! When was the Mack filmed? Do they have Octos? Really want to filme these! Stay safe and Godbless!
Thanks! Filmed about 3 weeks ago
Dang! That LEU almost looks too sharp haha! Looks like you guys really spent time on that one, makes me wish UWS had more minis for WM to take. Nice seeing the RL on some of those 30 gallon cascades, the packer had a pretty decent speed too. Does this yard or any neighboring yards, have plans to buy more baby Amreps? Also glad they got the “We run on clean burning natural gas” fitted perfectly on this unit 🤣. Overall great video my man! It was really fun!
Haha! It's a nice little machine! I definitely agree on that, it would be so nice to see more Macks in WM's fleet! The McNeilus RLs have some of the fastest blades so definitely keeps things interesting. No immediate plans for baby Amreps but the fleet guys do look every now and then for good baby trucks being sold at a reasonable price. Thanks bro!
I like the aremp alot
Great video Aaron, do you know if Santa Ana is looking into other trucks for the shuttle?
Thanks! Don't believe they are looking into anything at the moment
Great Video Aaron! Do you know where Gerry is on Mondays and what time he is normally there at GI?
Gerry is in the south part of Thousand Oaks off Thousand Oaks Blvd. Finishes around 3-330
Do you know what streets?
Aaron do you miss Camilo?
Yep, great guy
Thank you for watching my channel are so watch your videos as well
I had no idea mini macl LEU amreps existed! Weird that wm bought it from another company. Not very normal. Is it still live?
