    Recently bought some recommended stocks and now they are just penny stocks. There seems to be more negative portfolios in the last 3rd half of 2023 and first half of this year with markets tumbling, soaring inflation, and banks going out of business. My concern is how can the rapid interest-rate hike be of favor to a value investor, or is it better avoiding stocks for a while?

      Just ''buy the dip'' man.... In the long term it will payoff. High interest rates usually mean lower stock prices, however investors should be cautious of the bull run, its best you connect with a well-qualified adviser to meet your growth goals and avoid blunder.

      A lot of folks downplay the role of advisors until being burnt by their own emotions. I remember couple summers back, I needed a good boost to help my business stay afloat, hence I researched for licensed advisors and came across someone of utmost qualifications. People often underestimate financial advisors' importance. Over 50 years of data reveal that those who work with advisors typically earn more than those who go it alone. I've been fortunate to work with one for 13 years, resulting in a $1 million portfolio, largely from early investments in AI and other growth stocks.

    These are very valuable rules for anybody who wants to get rich. Unfortunately, most people who will watch this video will not really be able to apply the principles. We may not want to admit, but as Warren Buffett once said, investing is like any other profession-- it requires a certain level of expertise. No surprise that some people are losing a lot of money in the bear market, while others are making hundreds of thousands in profit. I just don't know how they do it. I have about $89k now to put in the market.

      Understanding personal finances and investing will most likely lead to greater financial independence. By being knowledgeable about money and investing, individuals can make informed decisions about how to save, spend, and invest their money. I know someone who made over $350k in this recession influenced market, but to the best of my knowledge, it was through a financial advisor.

    Investing in funds like ETFs, Mutual funds and Index funds is so much more safe and secure rather than putting all the eggs in one basket. Time also plays a big role in investing just in one stock like Facebook, Apple or Amazon, because these days everyone is busy and have no actual time to sit down, analyze and invest in one particular stock. Work, earn, buy assets and repeat!

    The old adage: Save money really meant "Save in gold" because gold was money; and in a way still is money. You can think of it as another currency that floats against all other currencies. Fiat money loses value over time and real money gains value over time. If the average person knew this, the simplest retirement plan would be to save in real money.

  • @holycameltoe124

    I like you jaspriet, but what you say about the federal reserve and the goldstandard is naieve at best. The dollar was off the gold standard way before 71, nixxon just made it official because it was no long sustainable due to dollars being created offshore.
    Also the federal reserve doesn’t print money, it doesn’t even do or know money(alan greenspan and ben bernanke said so themselves), it claims to do interest rates but even that can be debated. Its just there for the psychology aspect of markets.
    What QE and QT do are asset swaps. They trade bank reserves for treasuries in a world where treasuries are far more valuable and useable. QE has a negative effect on liquidity by taking prime collateral (tbills and treasuries)out of the market and replace them with bankreserves, it doesn’t print money whatsoever.

    • @thetapheonix
      @thetapheonix 2 місяці тому

      Everyone knows money is not being ‘printed’ physically. QE increases the money supply which is the same thing

    • @holycameltoe124
      @holycameltoe124 2 місяці тому

      @@thetapheonix no,QE doesn't increase the money supply it just replaces bankreserves for treasuries on the banks balance sheets from whom the fed buys the treasuries.
      the treasuries were paid for and are much more useful than the bankreserves though the interest rates are about the same.
      you'd think it would be net zero but then again treasuries are a much better collateral thus robbing the system of liquidity.
      QE is an asset swap and not a creation of money, only banks "create money" and they're not, or at least a lot less than trend. we're in a truly deflationary environment.

      I own all my rights to my land in Arizona. Mineral rights, water rights, etc. It’s rare but is offered in rural areas.

      Depends on countries. Some country offer freehold land titles which mean you own the land and pass down for generations.

    Is it ethical to be a land baron, taking away starter homes from new families ?

      Every question like this contains both a problem and a solution. Wealthy people know that in this case the problem is a lack of affordable housing. Wealthy people might also decide they can make more money in less time by developing land and building single family homes, apartments, etc. and then selling them at an affordable price to families.
      So my question to you is, is it ethical to take the profits you make off of rentals and build affordable housing to sell to families for more profit?
      Building is now the solution to the problem you described. But someone has to profit from this, the people building the housing, the investor paying the contractors, the contractors, etc. Hopefully you see how multiple people benefit when this type of thinking is prominent and encouraged.
