Sometimes I used long lasting treats, frozen bones or toys to keep them busy and then I start brushing :)
The only way my husky cooperates is if he is put on top of something high so that he can not jump down his kennel is the best place to deshed/comb him
Melody O'Grady Mine is the same. Just add the fact that she is a samoyed/husky mix, so double the fur and triple the knots. I do it in multiple sessions over the whole summer XD.
I generally do this after long walks, when my girl is to tired to fight it :P

I had to walk mine for about 2 hours everyday before I could brush him and he lay still for it. I brushed him almoat daily less in the winter. Great bonding and builds close relationship. Yours just goes with the flow and THAT is amazing

My Husky won’t sit for long. He makes a game of it. So stubborn but that’s why I love Huskies.

My husky is totally different, it takes him a month to shed. I have to brush him every second day, you are lucky.

I have an Australian Shepherd, so they shed a good amount, but huskies.... they just molt.

My huskies don't she'd that much but I have a brush called a furminator and I brush them about 2 to 3 times a week, not as much in the winter but it helps out a lot.
This brush is very similar to the furminator mine only shed like this 2x a year but I only brush them once week since I have 4 huskies hard to find that much time to brush them that often and 2 of them don't really like to be brushed :(

It looks like you are moving around as you go instead of all at one place. I think that is very important now that I think about and a very good idea.
By moving around the pulling and scratching is not concentrated for very long making puppy much happier. Looks that way to me.
@@TheSagerider Kitana is blind, so its easier for me to keep her in the same place and her knowing its just me moving around than her worrying about me pushing her around.

I wish I had my PitBull with me to play with her.Had her since March of 2007( which is 10 years) She passed away on march 21st from heart worms. My daddy thought she was pregnant because her stomach was big but it was fluid. I'm gonna miss her 😢😞#RIPPrecious

What brand are you using to deshed her xx
What bathing products do you use on the huskys? I've got a German Shepherd, so he's got the double coat too. I have a hard time getting him groomed nicely like this. I do have deshedding tools as well.
How often do you wash your German Shepherd? We only wash our huskies maybe 2-3 times a year if that? huskies are not suppose to washed that often as it bad for their skin thats why their coats are really good we deshed them, the products we usually use are from purina and some of the more expensive ones that are on special at the pet supply shops sometimes we only use water because the shampoos are not very good for their skin

question, mines 6 months and its about to be summer, (i live in iowa so winter season too) but my husky isnt shedding like that yet. normal?
prophecy712 6 month olds don't have their full coat on yet. Also, if you keep up on brushing or your dog sheds out better naturally it shouldn't be as bad as in the video.
what's your opinion on shaving huskies? I've only ever had short haired dogs
Dogs do not sweat like humans. Their cooling process is done via panting from the mouth, sweating at the paws and cooling the blood in their ears. Shaving the dog does nothing to keep the dog cool. It just makes the human feel better when looking at the coated dog. The Siberian Husky has little to no pigmentation in its skin. If you shave the Husky, you expose it to the sun without protection. Now you have a dog that can come up with a variety of skin problems including skin cancer. Another reason to NOT clip / shave your Husky is that the fur acts as a protection against insects and parasites. You remove that protection the dog is exposed to even more insect problems than he would have had if he had been allowed to keep is protective coat. Furthermore, if you clip / shave a Husky it will eventually ruin the coat and disturb the proper shedding process

I was worried my husky was shedding deeper then normal i was worried if she was losing her coat
i have a question, my husky is 11 months old and i have the brush. But my husky won't stay calm even when i give him food, not even treats or toys, it hurt's he's skin. I have only washed him 2 times this year and last. If you reply with what i should do, thanks so much!
If you think its hurting your dog, their are a lot of softer brushes you can try, in the beginning I use to use frozen raw meat bones (usually beef) and while they are busy with their bones I would brush them, if not I would use one hand for belly rubs and the other hand to brush them.

Yes it is very normal for huskies to shed she usually shed like this 2x a year after winter and summer

what happens when u don't shed ur dog?
Nothing will 'happen' because they'll shed on their own in chunks like they do in the wild, but if you want your dog to look good and your house not to be a mess of fur then you should brush it. It also helps them feel good during the hot weather in early summer.
Why would you do this in the house?

Can't see the tools shes using.. really hope she isn't using razor ones as that kills Huskies! Fur should NEVER be cut unless for medical as it runs thier coats for heat & keeping cool.. never de shed with any type of razor!

What brand under coat comb is that? I need a great one for my malamute husky (short hair) mix but doubt he'll ever sit still long enough. He's a rescue & don't think he was ever bathed, much less brushed. Just getting used to soft human brush after 2 &1/2 years but need to rid him of that undercoat!
