Not just the education dept., the entire system of India is rotten. Living in this country is itself a big punishment due to the low-level thinking of politicians.

Great video! It really hits the nail on the head when it comes to the issues in India's education system. The way you highlighted the overemphasis on bookish knowledge and how that kills creativity and practical skills is spot on. Comparing us to China and Japan was a real eye opener there's so much we can learn from them.
We seriously need to stop turning education into a rat race and focus on real, well-rounded development.
Thanks for bringing attention to these important issues!

Most state schools do not easily advertise teacher vacancies - in fact there are severe waiting lists for appointments.
Schooling of course depends on school - the teachers, the basic learning environment, and the teaching/learning material (textbooks).
As someone with some exposure to govt school kids in Delhi, esp among "lower-class" kids, there are several issues with both textbooks _and_ the teaching.
Even NCERT books, while trying to be interactive, are complex, unnecessarily long-winded, and thick with unexplained concepts. The teaching leaves a lot to be desired. Fundamental concepts in the physical sciences and social science. In fact in every subject. Most kids are behind in their Hindi/English reading.
While most "upper class schools" have more qualified faculty and students have access to better resources, such is not the case at the lower rung, with govt schools...
Solutions - revision of text books to make them simpler and less burdensome. Capable teacher recruitment. That is just a start...

Video, the speaker says we should encourage private sector teachers to join publicschools.. And also goes on to say this can be done by providing better wages and fortunate or what the speaker does not understand is that the government school teachers are exponentially highly paid teachers when compared to private school Teachers who work hard for peanuts
