there is a little hard plastic oil sprayer in the middle of the front of the engine in between the timing chain that sprays oil in an upward and sideways direction.
Not with the 2.2 OHV motor. This motor is notorious for having a bad timing chain tensioner. When they let go, you get that rattle sound. Due to it not being an interference engine, you can drive it like that, but eventually you will have problems. It sounds like spun rod bearings, but most times it’s not.
Thanks so much, had this issue on my chevy tracker before i sold it, now my boxster is making that noise but i couldnt diagnose what was causing it
I have this same noise on my navara d40 . I cant sleep well at night thinking how can i fix her quick :(

+Richard Napier I will try to do it myself, and I heard no need to dissasemble the engine, just the cap on the side.

Your oil pressure is very low, try finding an updated oil pump
That’s in spec for GM
sounds terrible before and after. Also the oil pressure is too low.
Alex's Bikes and Motors mmm last i looked 20-30 psi at idle isnt low... And its sound 100x better after you must have shitty ears
That's normal idle PSI, what are you babbling about?
