Taking FSD out of beta doesn't mean anything unless the driver can stop paying attention (even in limited scenarios)
The real turning point for autonomous driving will be when a company takes responsibility for its vehicle's self-driving.
well said ... FSD is so far just a SCAM. A broken promise that "it will be available by 2020", according to Elon Musk. Opppppssss it is almost 2024 now.

We currently have fake self driving, and it only cost you between $3k and $15k to get it. Imagine it never moves from fake to full, and he scammed tons of buyers out of hundreds of millions of dollars 😂
He already got sued for it once and the plaintiffs lost, so the scam is legit

Also, there are a lot of people who use FSD for their entire commutes. People pay for it because they want what it provides, otherwise they simply would not buy it. I love living in a free market like the US. No one is forced to buy it, but if they wish, then they may. It's lovely, huh?

When I can send my car to the airport to pick someone up and bring them back, that is full self driving. We are at least a decade away from that.

With just cameras. Our cars will never be fully autonomous. FSD gets shut down with moderate rain and fog.

I've used FSD beta in heavy fog and rain and FSD remained engaged. The main issue was speed in that weather which I reduced it. 2020 Model S, Long range plus.
I really think Tesla needs to bite the bullet and add HD maps; I say that after watching my Teslas jump into a lane about to close for 3 years. FSD treats every drive like its the first time its ever seen that road
I swear my 2022 MYP is learning my habits. Example: While in FSD, my car used to make a left turn from a 4 way stop. Coming from a 35 MPH boulevard into a residential street with no posted speed limit signs. It would slow to a creep until I gave it some acceleration. Now it does it all on its own and adjusts the speed to 25 MPH which is the normal speed in most residential areas. But today, surprise! The Tesla suddenly jerked to the right in a boulevard for absolutely no reason. I quickly took control or I would have driven into a curb.
I have a street that for years I couldn't turn out of without turning into a bus lane until one day an update fixed it. They were using the footage we sent in to train the car but it was just happening with code and people. Now it should do it faster and in real time.
FSD has never used any of your inputs to improved FSD. Not clear it will even do that in V12. Spoiler alert, we may need another 5-6 “biggest rewrites ever” to make anything close to a true self driving car. Hold your breadth for another 15-20 years and it will be here in no time! 😂
My speculation of v12 will be in areas where there is a lot of data great. Then you have areas like where I live that is more rural where you rarely see another Tesla other than mine. Here I suspect it will be very rough requiring multiple interventions be it simple speed adjustments or lane positioning. Then other issues will require quick take over due to lack of enough data for it to be smooth.
Maybe but if the cars are all learning and getting info from the same computer we should be able to take them anywhere…just my suspicion
@@CfTesla while you have suspicions I have ever update so far. What I see in my area to date I have never been able to get a zero intervention drive. I work from home but take my wife to work 3x a week. That is 12 mile round trip and depending on route I have to either one cancel lane change just before turn as it always wants to move to left lane for right turn .1 mile from it’s right turn. Another 100% error is it stopping in right turn pass through lane that has sign say not to stop. Then at alternate way it some time takes it will abruptly turn into a parking lot for store as it approaches 4 way stop. I can go on, but I would be writing a serious multi chapter book.
Do I see improvements, yes. I also see some significant safety flaw that are very dangerous if I don’t intervene.
I think the difference likely is fact I live n rural area where I might see another Tesla if someone is getting rideshare home.
I just hope they will put a team together and train it for European roads. Like we don’t have dotted lines when merging to the highway and it thinks after merging to the right lane, that it is till on the on ramp and need to cross the dotted lines to the parsing lane. Also sign recognition is very poor. So fingers crossed, that Europe will get some attention soon.
Since my Model X needed to have coolant valves replaced, Tesla Service Center gave me a Model 3 loaner car with FSD. I tried it after supercharging the car. After starting FSD, the car started to pull out of the parking spot of the right-most space of the supercharging location. Its steering wheel turned left and right (back and forth many times), the car hesitated to pull out of the space at first. When it finally moved forward and turn increasingly right to the direction of exit of the entire parking lot, the right rear wheel and tire went over the side curb and there was a loud sound as the rear bumper hit the side curb when the right rear tire went over the side curb and landed back on the ground. People were wondering if I knew how to drive, I told them I was using FSD for the very first time. Forget it. If it hit and go over a curb while pulling out of a parking space, how can it safety navigate all the potential and moving hazards on the road. IN my opinion, it is more like a scam. I love tesla cars, just not the proclaimed Full Self-Driving Autopilot when it cannot tell if it is a flat road surface or a curb. Very unsafe. Luckily, no one was hurt in the incident, including me seating on the driver's seat and a couple who happened to walked pass me and thought I didn't know how to drive. FSD is just for us to LOL ( at least for now ). It is a joke.

I just want it to stop triggering 140 (I think that was the number the safety score screen showed) Front Collision Alerts when there's nothing in front of me on the road or when I'm 6+ ft away from trash cans on the side of the road.. (it's done these twice now) and yes, it said that high of a number all at once... and no, I wasn't even in FSD mode (but i'm on the beta stack)

I really believed Elon 5 years ago, not so much anymore. I've gotten tired of hearing that FSD will be feature complete this year, year after year, after year. And now I can't even use Summon on my HW4 car or park in my garage accurately using vision only.
Well, as yet, there is still no wide release of 11.4.8 (2023.27.11) and it was first seen 11/16. I wonder what's up with that?

While Tesla may say that FSD is safer than humans, public data (NHTSA) proves that humans are 10x safer.
Here in the far flung reaches of the SW Pacific my tesla has V10 still and has been getting worse annually for some time . Servicing tells me the FSD is proving to be more difficult than first thought………I’m just sooo shocked 😮.
Remember that Tesla is geofenced exactly like the others………right Elon ?.
V10? Are you on the advanced option for updates? It may be geo fence in a way like in a country but it's not restricted to only working in a specific metro area.
@@CfTesla mine can’t reliably decide what the last speed sign said…….but our Chinese MG never fails.
Mine invents fake limits, will suddenly accelerate (back up to a previous selected sub-limit speed?) and I have to intervene……one location is a 100% fail. In the big smoke traffic limits madness by default, so appears normal all day every day.
If you complain there is a bin you are dumped in and tagged as a troll…….the cult is beyond educating…….and Elon likes it just as it is.
