  • Currently this facility is operating non-directional 24 hours, because the new tower is not ready to be put into nighttime service... ----- 5000 watts day and 1250 watts night...This six phased array covers a huge area of land so I had to find the best angle to record this... When new tower #1 gets online, 5000 watts with all six antennas working together, will generate the incredible nighttime signal pattern....
The tallest tower is the daytime, non-directional antenna for WTVN.
The tallest tower is also the home of 93.3 FM WODC and auxiliary for 96.3 WLVQ...

One of the towers looks new..because it is.
A powerful wind (I believe a derecho storm front, not a tornado) went through the array.
The local government tried to have the array torn down, but in the end, they were able to rebuild.
Their signal to the North is very strong, during the day, it's clear on the Lake Erie beaches west of Cleveland.
At night, the signal is even stronger to the North, but receives interference from 5,000 watt omnidirectional stations in Philadelphia and Kansas City.
