This is actually a great idea. It's called repairs, alot of comments need to be more supportive. And repairs require creativity with logical thinking, because for many different things parts are very hard to get. So alot of times is great to make the parts
@@mhobin12 Yes, some airplanes get repaired in the just about the same ways. Go check, if you were to see how container ships get repaired. Repairs could look sketchy, but that's why we have to understand the laws of physics, that way we understand what's going to happen next while not ignoring consequence. Not all repairs we see are approved but some just look sketchy. Like taking a parachute.
Yeah repaired, the weld is just outside nothing's holding the inside, imagine if the original solid part broke what do you think is gonna happen to this "repair"?

Nope, I don't like it. I'm no welder but I like watching and learning, those welds are basically just on the surface! Some beveled edges to have a GAP to fill in would have been a whole lot stronger. Hopefully this pieces application isn't very important, like a grain grinder I hope.
That repair will hold until it breaks👌

Let’s see you get on the airplane with parts that are repaired like this. then talk

The skills is not mind blowing. What is mind blowing is no one is injured or killed at the unsafe work environment or killed when this repair breaks
This is temporary good idea not for longer.
