in general recommending apps, that are not on the google play store is probably not a good idea :D To be fair, he didn't mention the best ones like ReVanced, Adguard or something like that
@@cake-bruh FUTOs Swype is too bad for now. I swype too much to use that keyboard. Also no multilingual typing with autocorrect and spellcheck with FUTO last time I checked. However FUTOs dictation is nice. But I don't use dictation functions.
They are adding an option to developers to block sideloading. Still really concerning, but won't affect community apps like the ones shown on the video.
Like in the video don't allow "install from unknown source" to applications like chrome or multiple apps in that case. Just only allow your file manager to install from unknown sources. If it don't use internet it's even better.

Too bad sideloading is being blocked on A15. I also really like Unexpected Keyboard, which is a lot like a PC keyboard, with keys such as ctrl, alt, meta, compose, esc, arrows, etc.
It's not getting blocked per se, but google play store app devs can disable sideloading and force you to get it from google play. If it wasn't on google play to begin with its fine.

I just really hope modders can easily bypass the google play app authentication. I love using modded apps and have about 20 of them installed on my phone.
honestly love the fact that google is going on apple's footsteps this way android will be much more secure if sideloading is completely removed from the surface... edit: i use an Google Pixel and Apple Iphone i am NOT biased towards any of them. but i strongly think it will be more secure. although if you disagree i respect your opinion
Yeah, most of my apps are from F-Droid, so it would be a nightmare if Google removed that. But there's one thing they could do: keep support for third-party app stores but remove the sideloading option ( I know it sounds dumb, though )

Actually apple is being forced in EU to allow side loading
Sideloading is not being removed at all in Android 15, but developers can choose to force you to download their app on Google Play. And sideloading is not necessarily insecure. Android itself is already extremely secure, so in most cases you should be fine, but it should also be logic not to install any shady app you see. Also sideloading gives you significantly more freedom, and takes away Google’s ability to prevent you from using certain apps.

HeliBoard is a more modern and more actively maintained alternative to Openboard. (A fork even afaik)
But there a much more better one if you want to use GBoard without GBoard. It's called FUTO Keyboard. I currently use this keyboard and its amazing!
This. Heliboard is awesome, and is so much smaller in size compared to Gboard.
I don't like HeliBoard compared to FUTO, FUTO just looks so similar to GBoard and is privacy-focused
