As a 3300io Bear last season, I would not recommend buying Augury or Grieftorch as a tank. Your goal as a tank is to stay alive, and unless you plan on staying at low key levels no matter how much gear you get, you will want combo trinkets. -Trinkets like Dreadplate & Rageheart offer a defensive CD while also doing good damage. Stat sticks like Ominous Essence & Whispering Icarn give you agility & verse while helping buff your team. Those are better to spend bullions on over Augury & Grieftorch. Then you have the cheat death from Dawn. Even at M0 & 515 ilvl, it's the cheat death proc you're looking for. My recommendation for the average Bear is Rageheart & Cheat Death. Gives you a defensive CD with Rageheart while dealing good damage, and a mess up every 8 mins. Once you get confident, then you can drop cheat death for the other options I suggested. -You dont want to run laser bear talents for anything except raid. In keys, especially high keys, you will skip the bottom right talents and stack the left. -You take Leech enchants, always leech. -You don't save your Incarn, you plan your pulls around your incarn. Never hold more than 30ish seconds. You def dont hold for 2.5 minutes... -My personal bullion choices are Rashon Staff, Rageheart Trinket, then Seal of Fillial Duty ring for the 535 ilvl and shield proc. So we agree on 2/3 haha. -You can bring Haste, Verse, & Mastery up to the skill cap then fill in with crit. There's no "bad stat" but crit isn't worth chasing at all. I personally went against the grain with my Bear as I use both Rageheart & Dreadplate, two on-use combo trinkets. When we are pushing io, I'll drop Dreadplate for Cheat Death. I opted to go Toxic boots & Shadowflame bracers for embellishments. With Rageheart, Shadowflame, Rashon staff, & helm enchant... the shield ring will proc a shield literally on CD.
Oh for sure there's definitely more choice for trinkets. My guides are aimed at beginners or intermediate level players and help them build a foundation to grow from there. I plan on doing more advanced guides in TWW. I've tried to always be up front and say if you are an experienced player then my guides aren't for you because I don't hit on things that you deem important like the theory craft of trinkets for example. My goal as a creator is to create a permission structure for people to play these specs. I tried a full left side build in AV and AA and didn't like it personally. Swapped back to GG and Twin Moons and everything felt better. The differences are minimal up to 10s probably. That said, I do think full left is the play if you are the only non VDH getting to highest keys.
Great video. I will say I definitely recommend you look at the Enduring dreadplate trinket. Offers some minor defensive benefit but more importantly my Veteran track one from raid finder is currently averaging around 8-9% of my overall dps in +11 keys. Got a buff in PTR and think it's being slept on for sure
i did hoi 14 before with bear and it was nearly impossible to stay alive math wise, i did previously on dh with no real issues that i recall, i'm a player that extract 100% of the char, maybe not the best one mech wise but skill /class wise i'm good, and i have to pray to stay alive in mobs, something is off, my overal after disbanding cause dps were braindead was almost 400k hps after 15 minutes of dungeon
Thanks for this detailed video!
