I really like this re-imagining of Rachet. He's not an un-likable douche like was in the first game. And I like how they kept James Arnold Taylor as his voice. I honestly can't imagine anyone else voicing him.
It's much like Spyro. His asshole personality and annoying voice acting was what ruined him in the first game. So glad they made up for it in its sequels. The same occurred here.

He met some guy who needed a hand, he got screwed over, realized that his idol wasn't who he thought they were... of course you'd be a pissed off douche! To put it in as real world a scenario as I can think of: New Ratchet wants to hang with the cool kids, gets dumped on, comes out on top. Old Ratchet is just doing somebody a favor, gets screwed over, and as a result gets blinded by his rage and only afterwords realizes the gravity of the situation. Call me a cynic for thinking that pessimism and angry characters are more relatable, but he just seems more real that way. More real than the hero from EVERY FREAKING KIDS MOVIE FROM THE LAST TEN YEARS. I guess my real issue is the demographic that they're marketing to.

I can see why people think Ratchet has been lowered to some child hero stereotype rather than the badass we know and love. I'm still waiting for the conclusion to the future series and then they go and make this. Like, qwarks film from crack in time is in this game, even though the events of that game take place several years after this. So in terms of canon, this game has slightly left me confused as it's supposed to be a different interpretation of ratchet 1 but messes with some other plot lines. The way I see it, what if Qwark being the idiot he is, used the great clock to never lose his fame in the first game and somehow didn't destroy the universe?
Originally there were supposed to be another Space Ranger named Stig who was Elaris' love interest. He was in the script for a long time, he was removed due to the movie being to long. But there was a reference in Elaris' basement somewhere.
... I beat the first 4 games atleast 20 times each when I was a kid, but when they stopped releasing games for the PS2, I didn't bother getting a PS3 just for this series. I've always loved Ratchet & Clank, but now I'm just lost. I have no idea where to start.

Honestly at first I didn't want to see them do a 're-imagining' of the other games too, but I'd love to see Locked and Loaded/Going Commando and Up Your Arsenal get the same treatment.
