Hi Krissy ! A small electric air compressor would be a good idea for blowing out the air filter and any dust anywhere else in camp, like
the inside of your trailer or truck, even you if you're covered in dust at the end of the day! Take care!!
Good idea!
Try your hairdryer. That's. What I use. Works great particularly on yhat size of filter.
Hey Krissy, a small bit of advice, You should blow the air filter from inside out. If you blow from outside in, you will block the air filter. Keep up the great work!👍
Also you need to blow air from the inside out, not the other way. When it's running, the air is being sucked into the middle of the filter, and the dust accumulates on the outside. You need to blow air from the inside to remove the dust.
Use a shop -vac on the floor of your truck and trailer to see how much fine gold is there
I love your REAL videos. Not fake, no nonsense, just real gold prospecting. Thank you so much for such wonderful videos.
Thanks Jason ⛏

Keep a roll of masking tape with you. When you pull multiple things off, number them in order of removal. If you disconnect several things, number the connections the same, so you know what goes into what.
A couple tips Krissy- To get the battery terminals all the way down properly you need to use a screwdriver to spread open the wraparound ends a bit, then slide it all the way down and then re tighten the bolt. And, it is actually okay to gently tap one side then the other back and forth to get them down snuggly if necessary, you will not hurt anything by doing that. To clean your air filter better you should actually blow it out from the inside out- opposite of the way the air gets sucked into it. I admire your determination to do things yourself!
Hi Krissy, it’s great to hear that you’ve had interest from German TV . I hope that this takes you further along your path of gold seeking and adventure in the outback. All my best wishes to you.
Thanks Richard, that project was a good excuse for my friends to come back over 👍🏻
I am an old 70+ grandmother but love your videos and get excited when you find gold.
Oh how exciting! I hope you will let us know when you find out! I am so happy you found a great little spot!
I grew up in the desert, and my dad was a mechanic who always kept a spare air and fuel filter, fan belt, spark plugs, oil and a few other things in the tool box in the bed of his pickup in case he broke down outland. He also had a pair of coated gloves so he wouldn't get shocked. I was so afraid when you dropped the camera that you had gotten a shock! I have zero mechanical ability, so I am just in awe of you fixing that yourself! Awesome job hun!
Do take care out there!
Joanie and Ger Bear
Hi Krissy great to see you back out again detecting. As for your battery terminals loosen fully then use flat blade screw driver to spread open terminals then they will be easier to push on. Hope this helps you next time. Keep swinging.
The isolation, heat and dust I could deal with but the flies! They would drive me mad. I don't know how you do it, Krissy. Thanks for sharing. From the UK.
You did the right thing by disconnecting the negative terminal first. To make it safe you can use anything even plastic bags or whatever just to keep the terminals insulated from things so they don't knock against the body of the truck while you are changing the battery.
You are mighty. Changing a battery takes strength and commitment.
Yup always negative cable first. Then if you bump the body, no sparks.
Thanks for the tipp! I really thought a plastic bag wasn't sufficient to insulate, thanks for letting me know 👍🏻
Hi Krissy, that small round ball is more than likely bird shot from a shotgun cartridge.Filming while working on your 4x4 enables you the ability to check the footage for reference.I always film or photo my work on my car to make sure i restore parts in the right order.Happy hunting cheers.
Highly unlikely, obviously u havent spent time in the bush, everybody i know carry a rifle, ashotgun has no., range so useless ,if u have to live off the bush 👍
@@blackbery1 Plenty of #8 shot on those claims mate---
@@blackbery1 Who said they are living off the bush?
Awesome Krissy. You're going to be a super star in Germany soon. With the off road driving you do, you should change your Oil, oil filter, fuel filter and air filter every 5000 kms. That old motor will always keep going then. Also, with your battery clamps, disconnect them and take out the tightening bolt and carefully push a screw driver into the gap and twist it a bit to expand the joint. That will let you push them all the way home.
Keep finding the colour Krissy.
"Uuuf, where's it Stuck? . . EVERYWHERE!" . . . LMAO ! . . . AND, you got er done! Luv the determination and the content on this vid. The time lapse of the cloud'z was Kewl ! Gr8 opener of the "Gearing Up" routine and am glad 2C you've got an Aux Battery on the Land Rover. (is there a spare on the trailer?) Removing the Ground First & connecting it Last is the proper & safest method of swapping Car Batteries. Sometimes washers are used between terminals to keep them from bending other terminals when tightened, but just one under the nut is good. Ya might want to "re-terminate" the one that's down to a few wires. My Boat had two Batteries w/ an "isolation switch" allowing power & charging from/for either or both Batt's. Be Kewl, Stay Safe & Hav Fun ! !
Thank you so much 😁 The trailer only has one battery, maybe I'll upgrade to lithium one day (gotta find more gold first). The two batteries in the car are connected with an isolator - must be one of the five cables 👍🏻
@@OutbackGoldFever You have Disney advertising their "streaming" services on UR channel in my area . . . that's Sayin somethin! . . Glad to hear UR being picked up by other Media Outlets, you Deserve it ! Looks like someone's noticed UR Focus and Professionalism. Nice Piece-o-Werk ! ! ; )
Well done Krissy Take care and keep up with the mechanical work 💕👍🤣🤣
great bit of mechanical work on the vehicle Krissy :) and straight back to gold finding :) well done :)
Good work Krissy, yeh I always take pics of anything I pull apart so I know what way to put them back together
Just got back from detecting myself and turned on the internet to get my weekly fix of someone who does find gold, really good video and I enjoyed it to the end, I got a .22 calibre shell and a sliver of digger bucket blade, keep up the good work, have a great week.
Great hunt Krissy! And excellent auto work. I have twin daughters, one paid attention to dad and learned how to change her own oil, check her fluids and tires, etc. the simple things to keep you going. The other one doesn't know where her dipstick is at. Go figure. Anyway i don't know if it'll work there and it doesn't here all the time but i call it my "fly relief." It's simple and most of the time it works. Most. I take a pie dish, fill it about halfway with water, add a little salt and float a sponge on it or in it. The flies are drawn to the moisture and the salt. Pretty soon they decide to take a swim. It'll usually work up to 50 - 100 feet away from you. Also i bet your happy for a bed:-) Months i slept in the cab of my truck till i finally got a topper and built a bed. Something to stretch out on. Was great! Peace.
Hi again Krissy.
I imagine that landscape could be Mars w future terraforming. Incredible.
Am quite amazed at the quality of your videos, especially that the audio is crisp! Adventurous!
Thanks Lothar, took some time but I seem to have managed the issues with the audio, happy you noticed 👍🏻
Don't wait Krissy! Change that filter and in such a dusty desert like environment I would carry spares. Dust will total an engine really fast.
Loved this one. Happy you were able to find a small patch. Excited to see what the machines unearth and you find. Peace.
Hey Krissy.
From Germany to outback Australia. Next stop Hollywood.
I have just come back from Mogo on the South coast of NSW. Didn’t find much gold but this weekend I’m of to Windeyer which is central NSW where I have found some nice gold a few weeks ago.
I can’t wait for your next vid. Cheers
Hey Krissy, great to see you becoming more self sufficient. You can just use a screwdriver to open the terminal clamps open a little then they will pull closed when tighted.
On the Gold, great stuff.
Thanks. Great luck to you. ✌🏻👊
G'day Krissy it's always nice to find a bit of gold after long hours of trash. I find that dug ground very interesting as you described it. A shear zone showing ( possibly) sulphides (yellow), & also ironstone staining (red) from water leaching around the contact zone and the bonus of country sedimentary rock (? the black with intrusions in it) are usually a pretty good indicator of an enrichment zone. The crew could be onto something pretty good there. Particularly as chunky bits, with good sized nuggets like you found recently, are known to be in that area. If a large main reef has never been worked in that area before then who knows!
A little tip for that "spaghetti of wiring you were wrestling with. Carry an old bicycle & also a motorbike inner tube & if you need to pull those or any other wiring off again simply slip a length of the appropriate sized tube over each little bundle of wires to insulate them from shorting & "Gaffa" tape the end. A short "ocky" strap hooked on to them will keep them out of the way. And remember the best bushies tools are "fencing wire & Gaffa tape" 😏!
Sounds like you know the geology of this area well 👍🏻
It’s got a lot if potential in the surrounding I think but hard walking and difficult detecting.
Hi Kris - im glad you know your positive from negative as jm upgrading my Van with solar & lithium - lots of crimping connectors and soldering etc - if not sure is so easy to fry your wiring - especially fusible link on main battery etc - always carry lots of different fuses etc but glad you found some shiny 😁
Hi Krissy. Great prospecting vid. Cruisers are awesome vehicles to own and drive but sometimes a little hard to work on with the height.
That's how to get it done fam. Keep on having fun getting that au and living the dream fam. Gold Squad Out!!!
Thanks 😊
Well done on the batteries. You can always google bush mechanics if you get stuck. That's if you have any Internet. Great video. Fingers crossed big gold for you this week
Krissie, zip ties, get different lengths, they make extra hands when you don’t have enuff. Take pictures be4 you start, I do, I always have parts left over when I do something. You are a joy and a jewel.
Wish I was there to help with your important maintenance. I agree the more you are able to take care of yourself the better your comfort will be with less worries. Thanks for sharing this treasure hunt adventure. Best of luck with your next.
Thanks, Jay 👍🏻
I'd like to say that you have a cluster under your car hood, but besides that I like what you show us and learn new tricks.
Also as an Auto Elec, I must say you did a good job considering what I have seen.
In regards to the wiring mess under your bonnet, yup, its a mess, definitely need to get an auto elec to neaten that up. And labelling things helps too.
Thanks for your feedback, it’ll be something to take care of down the track 👍🏻
Good to see you with gold again. Change the air filter ASAP. Glad to hear you being on tv.
Excellent always good to learn more self knowledge is always a good thing. As far as your air filter after removing the dusk . Hold it at a and at the sun if the light reects through it its still good. If not it's clogged and needs replacing.
Good finds. Zip ties have many uses. On your battery cable loosen the nut up a couple more threads put a flat bladed screwdriver down the end and twist it. Hot rocks and a stony iron meteorite for me today. Happy hunting.
re battery, lots of good tips from your viewers , so as a dumb mechanic my tip is when removing wiring or brackets etc, use your phone to take a pic of the layout, easy peasy nice and easy when putting things back together.
cheers Mark
I grew up in Germany, I love the opportunity to speak it when I can!! Been in USA since 1974, lol, i hat nichts vergessen alles, but I never learned to spell it much.
Awesome gold yet again!! Great mix of content & maintenance on your car & equipment. Well done sweetie
Thank you so much 🤗
Thanks Krissy. You stay safe hun.
Very curious flies checking out the gold!!
Another great video. Prospector, Geologist, Surveyor and now Mechanic. You sure can do a lot of things. lol. It was good to see you enjoying yourself and maybe more Gold on the next hunt. Take care as always. xx
I Luv it Krissy... The battery sequence killed me ...soon you'll be rebuilding engines.. LOL
That was nothing yet, wait until the oil change is due 😂
Krissy hope we soon get to see inside of the horse trailer, I would never think of using it. Please stay safe.🙏🏻🙏🏻💖🇦🇺Pinjarra just below Perth is where I live..
This is the link to a video where I've shown the inside: ua-cam.com/video/vaR4WEr28J0/v-deo.html
I change batteries everyday at a parts store, never seen that many cables to connect! You one tough lady!👏👏👏👍👍👍😳😳😳🤣🤣🤣
Best thing with an aircleaner is, if you think it needs to be replaced, replace it. An air cleaner is cheaper than a dusted engine. Great to see you giving everything a go!
Nice work. The key to putting everything back as you found it on batteries is to take pictures along the way. Instant references...
18k subs!! You are growing girl. Love your channel!! Thanks Krissy
Yay! Thank you!
hi krissy love watching you enduring the weather for the gold search , but also should get workbook for the 4wd and fix the wiring harness, nothing worse than being stuck in the outback
Great to see you doing some vehicle maintenance Krissy! with the battery terminals if you loosen the nut off then drive a large flat head screwdriver into it will open it up so it will fit lower on the battery terminal, when replacing batteries you can use string, tape or cable ties to hold the wires out of the way while you replace the battery, good luck!
Love watching the way you hunt for the gold.even more when you find the gold the way you say Where on the gold i just get a kick out of it lol and I see you have New detector.s way to go about time . right 👍 we I wish you more gold to find 😜 have fun and be safe till then.... Chow your number one fan form Las Vegas Nevada
All that wire: If it was me, I would have been looking for a ball of twine or a roll of tape to tie the wires back and create an opening for the battery to be eased down into. Yes, put together and electrical kit that includes a crimping tool, terminals, fuses and a few spools of wire in various sizes.
Hi Krissy hope u r well , love the bush mechanic work you performed , well done 👏 also 4 little beauties you discovered. Film crew from Germany , that's awesome for you congratulations and stay safe out there . Cheers! ⛏😎👍👩🦯
Well done Krissy on yr achievement on batteries good to see you tackle something you knew nothing about. Keep up the good work ⛏️⛏️
Hi krissy
Beautiful 4 Nuggets.
Why don't find a patch mixed with Quartz rocks and hot rock's or even cap rocks.
Bigger chances for the right colour hiding there. 🤞
As long as you disconnect the negative cable first your good, nothing will short out and spark. It’s interesting the vehicle has a separate battery for the starter. Yes change the filter. Do yourself a favor and get a battery operated air compressor so you can blow out the air cleaner. They make them for filling tires also.
hi Krissy you can use a flat screw driver to open the battery terminal.
Krissy,
I want to comment on you being told not to hammer the battery connector. It's partially true. If you have the bolt and screw loose on the connector and the connector will not fully seat down you can lightly tap on the connector until it fully seats. Just don't hammer down too hard because you can damage the battery connector.
I love the way you live your life no cities no towns no people quiet out there in the bush nobody to bother you you find gold to make your your living I love every second of it and I wish you well and safety because we know that there are pirates out there so you be careful enjoy your life and love what you doing by swinging and digging you take care of yourself and watch your back
Hi Krissy, such a fun adventure again this week. Suggestion: you need to be wearing safety glasses anytime you mess with batteries. They are a must have when doing dangerous jobs. Congrats on a successful swap. Was fun that you shared that with us. Best wishes as always, Deb
One option on all those + wires to the battery is to put a + Bus bar, or block in. You feed all the accessories from the bus bar, which is powered from the + battery. It would reduce all the wires going to the battery. Just a thought! You handled it great!
Hay Krissy, That troopy is a good old bus and the 1hz engine will go forever if it's looked after. You can wash the air filter out in clean water in a bucket but you will have to be somewhere with a good supply, it takes about 60 to 80 litres.
Thanks for letting me know, Mick 👍🏻
Chrissy, do not wash the air filter; it is made of paper, u can only blow it with air an d then only very softly. I serviced cars for Kevin James in WA and we did thousands back 69-70s
@@blackbery1 Theo, I'm a diesel mechanic with 46 years experience, I've owed an 80 series for twenty years it has 650,000 kms on it and have washed all my air filters with absolutely zero issues. The filters are made to be washed, look it up. There are exchange services for larger air filters on plant equipment and trucks. The reason they are replaced by dealerships and mechanics is purely economics so they can make the markup on the new filter, so respectfully I think you are incorrect. Edit, OH also it's in the manual.
definitely a neat solar setup.
Hi Krissy. If u use a flat screw driver put it in the gap on the terminal and twist it ,,it will open the gap and the terminal will slide on with a tap from the back of ur spanner or something not as heavy as a hammer 🔨 just tap it. ,,,done it's loads of times all safe. ,,,should invest in a small compressor for ur air supply to blow out air filters ect. ✌🏻❤️🇬🇧 Thanks for sharing.
Duct tape is your friend and can be used in so many ways, cheap and a must have in any toolbox.
Very entertaining thanks Krissy👍
If you ever have to do that again, a flat blade screwdriver works great to open up the terminal before you put it on the battery! Love your content! Good luck!
It's a washer with a lock washer then the nut, the lock washer keeps it from backing off, take a screw driver and spread the terminal.
Thanks for the hint 👍🏻
Thanks for a wonderful video good luck Krissy
I am A Mechanic, An You did Amazing Job. Negative First always. Once the negative is off, It wont shock you. Then Negative last just like you did it. I usually run a string or zip tie through multiple wires to hold them back. That small red positive wire that was kind of floppy should be fixed . But will hold for while. / Also great choice on battery's. Sealed battery is always better in my mind. / They seem to last longer I think. / Air filter if you can see light going though it. This mean it is ok. Look from the inside out. If not I usually tap it with my hand to clean then re check. / I would replace it if you CAN NOT see light. / Love the metal Detecting. I hope you find a Potato size Gold Nugget again. :)))
Just watching you with the battery krissy , you can open the terminal a bit more by undoing terminal bolt and using a screwdriver to flare it open a bit more before it goes back on the battery . Loved the video as always .
We so much enjoy your videos.
After hearing about your visitor(s) from Germany, we started wondering about your story ourselves. Have you ever done such a video?
Garry and Marilyn 😎
Not yet... Maybe it's time for a Q&A 👍🏻
Great stuff krissy. .keep going because the big nuggy is waiting there for you. God Bless
Feeding time at the fly zoo at the end! Who'd have known they like gold.
Gosh, I cannot imagine how difficult it has to be to continue digging through that hard soil the entire day. Suddenly the red clay soil in Alabama does not seem to be all that tough to dig anymore! Ha. Nice video Krissy. Cheers
I'm so glad you have that nice caravan to keep you warm on the cold nights, have you tried using the heater yet? Congrats on the 4 nuggets you got, keep prospecting, you know there is a 5 ounce nugget out there with your name on it! ✌️😎
Funny you mention the heater since I let it run for ten minutes last night to test it for the first time. Of course I was worried of blowing everything up but it works a treat 👍🏻
@@OutbackGoldFever No need to worry, they are incredibly safe as long as they are serviced regularly. Plus if it is controlled by a thermostat, you can leave it low enough to keep the chill out of the air. If you set it to 12* C (55* F) it would be more than comfortable for you. Plus at the low temperature they are very efficient.
another great film ,well done i luv watching from uk
Awesome Krissy! 🔥 Thank you for sharing your passion with us. Those flies are brutal 🪰
I admire you so much you are self sufficient and so knowledgeable love your channel stay safe and find plenty of that illusive colour best regards Colleen
Nice Krissy. Superb editing. 😊
Thank you so much 😊
The washer needs to go on top, all of the stuff you connect should touch the battery terminal and each other for a good connection.
love your Sunday morning videos
I as well but her Saturday PM videos
Like your videos. You are very good at finding gold but your mechanic skills ? Keep living the dream
Good work on your car. Tip: Take a photo of your wires before you start disconnecting them.
Great video Krissy, stay safe!
For a minute there I wished I was there and teach you while doing it. The car battery will never "zap" you.
Just checking in so will watch what you are doing today❤️🥰
Upvote for your mechanical know-how. Well Done. I once electrocuted myself by plugging a backless wired plug into a wall socket but forgave myself the mistake after seeing an Electrician electrocute himself by failing to check if there were 2 separate Ring Mains circuits feeding my friend's kitchen..
I use bungees to hold the cables back when putting new batteries in. You can use a flat blade screwdriver in the end of the cable clamp to pry it apart. Those batteries looked the same size as the ones that go in my diesel pickup. Heavy. I had to change mine when it was -10F. Frozen hands.
Thanks 👍🏻
Dont' worry about getting zapped from the car battery. 12V is safe and harmless. Just don't wear a necklace and have it touch both terminals at the same time. That will hurt a bit. ;)
Ouch 🥴
love your videos Krissy but I don't know how you can handle all the flies. I would never be out there with netting lol . hoping you the very best of luck girl.
Krissy you can put a flashlight or torch I don't know how you refer to a handheld light and put it on the inside of your air cleaner and if you can see light real well through the filter it is ok but if its hard to see the light it is time to change it.
Thanks for the tip, Steve 👍🏻
If you put a little bit of oil on your battery terminals then the acid can't build up on them for a while..and on the cable clamps as well.. if you loosen the terminal clamp take out the bolt and then push a screw driver inbetween the two ears of the terminal and open them up a bit so the terminal will go down will go down further on the battery lug of the battery. Put the bolt back in and screw the nut back on and tighten up again..
K. you can use a flat head screwdriver to spread the lead terminals slightly, allowing for easy going. also -neg terminal should be last thing connected when working on any electronics. Good job on teaching yourself. its the only way. Love your channel. keep em up girl. Cheers!
Thanks for the tip with the flat head screwdriver, I'll try that 👍🏻
i gave you a hand as best i could . i clapped when you got the battery in.
Thanks for helping out 😁
lol
To get the terminals back on the post you need to loosen the bolts and then take a big flat screwdriver to spread them out to max. The terminals are made of lead just like the post of the battery so they will pry open with a little bit of effort. You should have put petroleum grease on them for better contact and corrosion preventive.
Cloth tape mate - it is an awesome spare hand. I always use it to bundle wires and hold them out of the way.
Good that you do not quit though. And use your brain....
That wiring is a bit messy mate - yet again you can use cable ties to permanently tidy cables - cheap and easy.
Get a small 12v compressor .....and the electrical connector kit !
12 volts is VERY gentle - the so called zap is tiny - your skin resistance protects you. Arcing is more of a hazard for the vehicle BUT not for you.
Use a bit of wood to tap things down.
Thanks for the hints! I'll try tapping it with a branch 👍🏻
Hello. God bless you.. I am pleased with your programs to explore for gold. I work in the field of precious stones. I am a Kurd from Syria. Good time to you.
Getting better so far I just got back from a camping holiday so only just watched this vid looking forward to seeing what the machines unearth come on you big nugget . I wondered what your most unusual find has been I saw the weather balloon transponder some time ago but has there been anything that made you wonder how it got there ? Good luck Krissy
Hi Daniel, glad you’re enjoying the videos 😁 The weather balloons are certainly unusual but I’ve found a few of those now. It happened a couple of times that I was out in the middle of nowhere thinking nobody has ever detected there, screaming signal and it was a modern day coin 😂
