In this video, I show KARATE defensive techniques and how they would function against BOXING COMBINATIONS. The goal here is NOT to say or attempt to prove that Karate is superior to boxing! I LOOOOOVE boxing! It saved me from a life of being bullied. My point here is to off set those people on social media who have NOT trained in real karate and also those who demonstrate a soft "play sparring" narrative that appeals to a certain segment of AMERICAN society.
In this video, I show TRADITIONAL KARATE defenses against some of the most popular and widely used boxing combinations. NONE of the techniques I am teaching and demonstrating are foreign to TRADITIONAL
KARATE. These methods are most seen in OKINAWAN karate styles like GOJU-RYU and UECHI-RYU but they are classically KARATE to their core.

You are definitely needed on UA-cam. Icey Mike said that if you bite in a fight you can't fight.
Between shotokan and boxing what would b better to train in? I'd like to train in both but can only train in 1 .
At this point, Sensei Seth is pretty much the walking embodiment of suburban "karate".
@@steverodgers4662 The way Shotokan is taught today, I recommend boxing.
@@ainako255 Surburban AMERICAN white karate. Whites in the UK and Australia don't give a damn about him on average.

Great stuff as usual. Similar to the defensive fundamentals I’ve seen in Dutch Kickboxing, which is derived from karate. Are the clinch and under hook entry you showed at the end directly from Karate as well, or an adaptation?
My foundation style is old school karate. The one karate block that I feel is weak is the outward block. I didn't see you do one in the video if that name is not correct. I modify it if I have to by doing it as a kind of inverted punch with an outward twist.

I took karate for a semester and I at the time I was kickboxing combatively and I was about to adapt karate techniques I my sparring and that was only after a few weeks.could only imagine if I had started earlier
Great video. Do you prefer that defense against a hook, compared to a cover? Just wondering if one is preferred for bare knuckle
Chris Roper: In this case, I ONLY used the techniques indigenous to Karate. The point had to remain showing Karate and its way of dealing with Boxing combinations. If I could see the hook coming, I would prefer to use the karate style block because it is attacking the arm which hurts like hell really.

I will also counter when I seen an opening :).Try getting that response from white idols like Ramsey Dewey, Joe Rogan, Icey Mike and Sensei Seth. I am as real as they get. I have used my shit in blood and guts situations.
