Just found your channel and really love the dedication to Geordies sound! I’ve got an ES-175 with humbuckers and a Line6, trying to replicate some of his sound, and this helps a lot. Also love that you are showcasing the Godin guitars. It’s hard to find anyone playing rock on a Godin hollow body! 😊
Hey hey thanks! Have fun in your Geordie tone pursuit. You should be able to get a vibe going with that setup. I’ve got a few connections with KJ and always loved his sound above any guitarist that I have seen. The Godin 5th ave is the closest in weight and vibe that I’ve found in a modern production guitar. I had the pleasure of strumming his once and it was a seriously mind boggling thing to hold. I used to work in London on Denmark Street and we stocked Godins, so I would plug into the p-90 one and have a blast. Love em and on the used market they can be had for not much cash. X
@@FletcherFathoms woah. You played his es-295? I grew up in the 80s listening to mostly punk, metal, ‘goth’ etc, and Geordies sound AND style definitely stood out from all of his peers. Thanks for the quick reply!
@@wttthm No worries - thank you for checking out the jams. I convened with Geordie a few times over the years and he was always a gent. He played my aluminium guitar as well. I reckon his finger prints are still on it! The one I played Love Like Blood on here with. There's a photo of me having a strum in that video as well. Looking like a deer in the headlights haha. X
Hey hey thank you! I love that riff and never really thought I’d ever attempt it, but it just sort of clicked one day. Love Geords forever and I’m grateful for the time I got to spend with him. I think I did this one the day I got the microfreak, so just picked a preset midi up to Elektron and boom. Worked a treat for the extra spice. X
@@FletcherFathoms yeah Geordie was one of those rare prototypes that was never intended for mass production. Back in the early 2000s I knocked about in Camden with him (And Matt, Killing Joke’s manager at the time). He was quiet and oh so charismatic. We’d find ourselves round his flat after closing time where we’d swap war stories, tour stories, riffs and spliffs. I feel really fortunate to have shared some time with someone who penned so much of the soundtrack to my life. I hope he’s out there in the ‘verse somewhere, jamming with Raven again.
@@NoizeLabUK Ah that's super cool! I was a gear journalist fora while and let him and Youth borrow pedals to try out. He wanted to have a go on my aluminium guitar and he did at an after party Brixton Academy. I wish I had a pick of him strumming it grinning ear to ear - he likes a slim neck. I got to play his Golden Lyre once which was a religious experience haha. I moved to the UK 13 years ago, so sadly never saw KJ with Raven, I wish I could hear them now. X
Cheers matey! Psst, don't tell anyone, I'm also Thundergate. This is my new channel set u pfor my "solo" ventures. Really appreciate you checking it out. Love to the JAM FAM!
Hey hey! This is a Peerless variant (Geordies is a 53 which I have strummed and it was unreal) very close to the vibe though. Keep an eye out for the next KJ cover to finish my trilogy. Cheers for checking it out! X

Mathematics of Chaos. An absolute monster of a song and one of my favourites on Pandemonium. And then you throw in the Microfreak. Amazing!

Thank you mate! KJ are one of the most powerful bands ever to be. Glad you dig my version of this 1994 burner. Going back to my roots with this one. X

I’ll actually be traveling and may not make it, but I’ll be there in spirit!!
i immediately thought of KJ when this challenge was created. looks like you may have the same model as Geordie too?
