The craftsmanship of the LV bags back in the day are bar none the best quality I have ever seen ...... I have a cabas piano from 2013 ,that my husband bought me and I hardly ever use it because I do prefer my dooney bags
Unfortunately in the last few years the quality has gone down hill a lot ...this is a gorgeous bag and in such great condition and quality ...

But if u get a chance check out the beverly mm thats what im using as we speak. But i say that to say the inside of your galleria and the beverly very similar on how they carry and i love lv because their very light weight stylish and classy goes with everything congrats on your first luxury piece😉👍

Mama Beech and on your galleria vachetta and eraser will remove the dark marks. I think thats why lv discontinue this style handbag the rings were marking up the vachetta and rings rust. But some ppl were using clear polish on the rings to stop the markings on the vachetta.

Yes, brasso according to purse forum for the hardware on LV bags. I have some exclusively for my LVs but have not had to use it yet.

I love that bag. The lining material is called “alcantara” and it wears really well and is easy to clean. Enjoy your first LV!

I have heard about alcantara because my husband is a car nut and he always points out when a car has alcantara as one of the interior fabrics 😂 Since they use it in cars, I know it’s super durable, so I’m glad to know it’s inside my bag!
This bag was also my first LV bag purchased at the flagship store in Paris many years ago. The client advisor was so helpful with helping me pick out this bag and I treasure it. She also gave me a glass of champagne after I decided on this bag! Memories :)
Love the shape of that bag I'm also horrible with mixing patterns I totally understand, I'm not much of a girl either. I have heard that their older bags are much better quality, which has stopped me from considering them, the prices seem to keep going up too. Looks like you can fit a good amount of stuff in the bag, looks very usable and worry free.
Such a pretty shape to this vintage LB hobo bag! I also have a vintage Mono LV Retiro and Enpriente leather Speedy bag, adore both for all the things you shared. These bags are classic looking, with the LV chic luggage vibe! I clean my vachetta untreated leather with just a hint of unscented clear soap and filtered water with a clean soft cotton cloth, maybe a soft tooth brush if needed for hardware marks does the trick. Clean evenly in long strokes and let dry thoroughly. I stay away from chemical enhanced baby wipes that dry out leather and baby bottoms....can cause cracking over time, although they clean well initially....later the leather gets dirtier and dark. Congratulations on your new treasure and your journey into designer madness and joy! BTW, the older bags I think are better made :-)

Congrats on your trade! I'm lucky enough to have a Louis Vuitton from 2004 when the craftsmanship was amazing. I've heard the hardware isn't even brass anymore. I'm scared to use mine though lol I probably should've bought a used lol Oh, and the smell of a new Louis Vuitton is AMAZING!!!!!!! I could see you carrying a white multicolor speedy :-) They are beautiful!!
I sold all my LV but I will say they hold up and retain value. I sold my three year old wallet for %$20 less than I paid. I think this is a beauty and you’ll love it!

I just got a galleria PM a few weeks ago and it has totally opened my eyes. for 30 years I only bought leather tote bags, and this bag made me realize how heavy they are. I may never got back to leather totes again for work. Also the Galliera PM is a perfect size and amazingly comfortable to wear. I love the plaque and the feet rock. I may seek a galliera in damier azur for summer. I am a new coated canvas and LV addict.

I actually never cleaned it! I got so many comments telling me to leave it alone that I did just that. It’s funny because the dirtiness that stood out to me so much upon arrival i really don’t even notice anymore. I kind of like it’s a bag I don’t have to worry about!

I still have it and use it very frequently! I don’t know that I will do an update video because I still think I feel the same. Great bag! One of the most comfortable, light and easy bags I own. The one con is that it is a very casual style and doesn’t translate very well in dressier situations.

Apple brand leather cleaner. Tbh it never cleaned up perfectly, but the cleaner did help. Make sure you condition the leather after to restore moisture

Great video and beautiful bag! I wanted this bag years ago and it is on my bucket list on a pre loved site as bag #2. Just bought my first brand new LV Graceful PM. I find the LV bags from 10 years ago had a certain stylish flair.
Nice LV . I like Tina on the Vachetta leather so I don't really do much in terms of the Vachetta leather although I have conditioned Vachetta leather but when you do that you have to realize that the leather will darken so you have to be okay with that.

Beautiful bag!! Ditto to you I am the same way about the luxury handbag videos. I watch and admire from afar. But the other day, I broke down and bought the lowest priced LV handbag. It's the speedy 25 in the Damien Ambien (sp)? The canvas does seem to be thinner than what expected ( which I did hear they are have gotten thinner in the past 2 or 3 years )

Your Dooney videos show such amazing bags... the thing about LV bags is that everyone has one and there are so make replica LV bags that when I see anyone with one I always think it's a replica... Do you really like the pattern and colors of the leathers together?... I am glad if you love it... it's not my taste though after owning Brahmins and seeing the Dooney bags you have shown in other videos... Have you gone away from the Dooney Satchels?....
Dakiniwoman I have been going away from Dooney satchels lately. At one point I had SO many, so I banned myself from buying more and tried to explore other things. I’m glad you mentioned Brahmin because that is another brand I am curious about. So many people who love Dooney also love Brahmin so I am interested to see what I think of the leather quality.

Did you ever clean the vachetta, and if so, how did it go?
I didn’t end up cleaning it. After using the bag for awhile, the imperfections were hardly noticeable to me anymore. I just left it as is.

I didn’t actually end up cleaning it up. After using it for awhile, I barely noticed the imperfections anymore. Really love this bag as is flaws and all!

From what I understand, a lot of folks use saddle soap to clean the vachetta leather on their LV bags. I really like to watch Kritty Locks channel here on youtube. She's restored a lit of preloved bags. Regarding suggestions for LV bags, I just purchased a speedy b30 in damier ebene and really like that...great for handheld, shoulder or crossbody. The Graceful MM is a great one as well.

Congratulations on your first foray into the world of Louis Vuitton! That bag is beautiful. I purchased my first LV, a Speedy 30 in 1989 at the LV Boutique in San Francisco. I paid $350 for it, which was a pretty penny back in the day. I still have it and use it often. Honestly, I’ve never cleaned or conditioned the vachetta leather trim and it has such a dark, beautiful patina. I take very good care of all my bags and it has no cracks, stains or anything to mar it’s loveliness. I have other LV bags and accessories as well, but I’m so partial to my very first LV and I cherish it. They do hold up so well if taken care of properly and when I see what they sell for new nowadays I cherish my oldies even more!

I just bought my first LV last month. I got a delightful MM for $795 from Fashionphile. Honestly, mine is not worth the $795 let alone the $1.5K it was. It's listed as Excellent, which it is, but it just too me isn't anything MK doesn't do for a 10th of the price. The nice thing about buying preloved is with the vachetta tanning I don't worry about it in the rain. I'm glad to have it in my collection, but no more LV. I may buy a Gucci flap bag.
Albi M that is an excellent point about MK. I have heard that their canvas quality is almost identical and they even manufacture it in the same facility as LV. There are a few Gucci bags I am very interested in adding to my collection as well. And someday I also want a vintage Chanel!
