I've had my SWC for almost two years and haven't had the confidence/inspiration to use it until now! Thanks for the great tutorial, Nico! 👍
Watched this video a few times and it helped convince me to try a 1981 version SWC/M with C lens & T* coating. It arrived today and it's a beauty. :)
Afaik, it's not that it doesn't need a mirror. It is that it cannot have a mirror. Because the plane of focus is so close there is no room for mirror between the lens and film.
Nico, if you don't already know the QR plate on V-system hasselblads is exactly the same as on the H-system (even the foot on the HC300mm 3.5 lens has it), and the flexbody/arcbody.
Importantly, BOTH the h system and v system qr brackets fit ALL of them, so either will work! 🙂🙂
nico one final tip, a refference book is out there on the hasselblad models, by Ernst Weilde called the Hasselblad manual this has a chapter on these, how they are used, lenses, etc. very comprehensive, so if you own a H or V camera a MUST BUY as any question you have will be answered to your satisfaction, a very comprehensive manual.
yes, Nico, that 'adaptor' is what is used by the flexbody to mount the viewfinder/prisms to it, same one!, just Don't use the fresnel inserts!!- these distortion correct for the 10-25deg. tilt of the flexbody, so you can focus even with this movement applied.
Great review as alvays Nico!
Do you gave any thoughts on the multicoated (T*) vs the silver seeing as there seems to be a big pricegap between them.
nico, one tip, at 9:26 be carefull when using the "T" lever, this hangs the shutter at the just fired state-NOT fully de-cocked!, this (fully decocked) only happens when the button is let go!!, and this happens for ALL 500 series cameras (leaf shutter), of coarse the 200/2000 focal plane bodies fully de-cock, regardless, as this is an electronic 'trip' like a dslr shutter, or just the fact that the rear curtain MUST close to complete exposure, to re-cock, the focal plane curtains are reversed, the bottom acting as the baffel, and the top, rewound ready to follow during exposure run.
C is for Compur. The leaf shutter.
Seems that it stands for Camera, Super Wide Camera. But Compur would also be cool. But later they changed to Prontor and still kept the SWC denomination.
Seems the hood would obstruct more of the view in the viewfinder than without it. I had the CF version and even without the hood I'm pretty sure it was partially obstructed by the lens itself… Of course if you're shooting without the finder it doesn't matter.
Great information thanks, is there a prism available to attach to the rear to allow for critical composing
Yes, there is a specific one called RVF.
91° angle of view is pretty hot 😁
🥵🥵🥵
Try selling a new one like those these days......
They sell the 907 but interchangeable lens.
A dream ❤️🩹
Its an awesome camera.
