    Man... Sub 51 is no joke. Love that Femke keeps pushing herself to get better when others count her out. I am not going to sit here a debate between her and Syndey at this point. I am just appreciating what I just saw. Sub 51. First Dahlilah breaks 53. Then Syndey breaks 51, and now Femke joins her. Just remarkable.

      @@dennisdose5697 Ys Bol went out too hard in the first 200 it appears to me, but that is what she stated is her new race strategy. It is fine to do so if you are running your own race and not trying to keep up with someone who is faster. Because the faster person will always use less to keep up. In the first 50M, Sydney had already ate into the stagger and just ran conservatively down the back straight to maintain what she had gained. Bol was using too much to stay with Sydney and was destroyed when Sydney kicked again. Look at Bol's last hurdle. She completely last form. That's what lactic acid, deflation, no more fight does to you. I'm just glad she didn't fall.

    Bro what have I been telling you for months at this point. Scariest thing is… I just went back, slowed it down, counted step by step carefully. Bol is still doing 15 steps for half and slipping to 16 the last half. Syd just broke the record doing the same thing more or less. Her Olympic gold she was hitting 15 for more hurdles so one would think she’s going to ramp up to hit 15 throughout or as many as she can. So I don’t think we’ve seen either of their best and I bet my channel that record gets smashed. Guaranteed.
    The danger is If Bol does 15 for all of them, she’s not going to be beaten. She’s still doing more 16 step hurdles and running sub 51. That’s terrifying. But that’s a tall order to go 15 al the way after all those rounds. However she has a considerable length advantage over syd being so much taller. I think the lack of competing on European soil with such a limited race program might finally catch up with Syd. Whereas Bol has quietly been doing her speed work and already dropped 4 sub 50s quarters. Honestly Imo it’s asking too much of Bol at this age to 15 step but next cycle it’s a done deal. But this time around might be the sweet spot where it depends on the day. What we know for sure is Syd has incredible mental resilience in a dog fight down the stretch as Tokyo proved losing by a good margin after 5 hurdles. This race will come down who can dig deeper as I think neither will separate through the 200 m split. That is assuming she 16 steps. Bc at this pace no hurdler currently can go all the way but if anyone is closest, it’s Bol being more genetically gifted that 3 inches of height will do a lot. Same problem Noah has chasing usain’s records. All the talent and hard work in the world can take you 95% but gd it’s hard to beat Mother Nature with a 6’5 freak of nature knee driving with an ungodly VO2max. And Bol being taller than Noah herself is another advantage but this cycle Syd still has enough in her bag to take gold. This is probably the one race I won’t bet on honestly . If there’s a prop bet for them BOTH breaking the world record in the final, I’m taking that in a heartbeat though

    • @_MicZ_
      @_MicZ_ 6 місяців тому +9

      I think you made a mistake there, she's running 14 steps for the first 7 hurdles, then switched to 15 for the last 3.
      You're probably making the mistake of also counting the step across the hurdle, which you shouldn't, which would explain the 15/16 instead of the 14/15.
      That mistake still doesn't account for you thinking she went 5 hurdles with one pattern and 5 with another, but to be fair, the video isn't great quality, so that might be the reason ...
      (Also, Sydney went 14 for the first 5 and 15 on the last 5. She was meant to do the 7/3 pattern but made a mistake, which is why she didn't expect a WR)

      Femke goes lactic like everyone else but has gotten better at holding her form. Sydney does this well, same as Bol. It has more to do with discipline and efficiency for the two elites.
      Bol did go lactic badly in the mixed relays for the Dutch like a year ago and fell when Holmes snuck up on her. Her legs gave out. Femke's form was perfect until Holmes startled her, so her staying calm has a lot to do with her ability to finish strong.
      Her and Sydney are both going to peak in Paris, both have the same tactics with gaining quickly, 14 strides, then keeping form through the end. This race is going to be decided by Sydney being able to hold it together when Bol is right there with her the entire race. Sydney is used to blowing out everyone. That is not happening in Paris. She'll need to stay relaxed and hold form with Femke, who is currently at her fitness.
      It's going to be mental at that point, and the ultimate race to watch, along with the men's 400m hurdles, and women's 400 & 1500.
