    I used the rotisserie for a 6 lb chicken last night, make sure you tightly truss the chicken. Quartered some potatoes, carrots and an onion put in the drip pan around the chicken leaving a space under chicken so it doesn’t hit the veg. Then I added chicken broth to the pan. I increased the temperature to 425F then lowered to finish cooking. In under an hour it was sooooo good. Crispy skin and juicy. Was so happy as I have read so many bad reviews the secret is in the trussing.

      That sounds awesome for sure! I haven't tried to rotisserie a chicken and I've always heard that trussing the chicken nice and tight is the key. Too bad UA-cam doesn't allow for people to post pictures in the comments because I would have enjoyed seeing what it looks like.

    I came here (more accurately, a different video of yours then came here next) looking for information about the Kalorik Maxx I just got my family for Christmas. You have a lot of interesting information and I especially appreciate the actual examples you show instead of just telling us what you thought about it. I can't wait to try out the bacon, what you showed was absolutely the most perfect (personal preference) bacon I've seen made at home.
    I do have 1 little "nitpick" though ... As a food person, you should know that the higher the temperature, combined with the closer to the source of the heat, the more the outside of a piece of meat cooks in relation to the inside. By putting a piece of meat (steak) right next to the heat element at the maximum setting, you should get something resembling a sear like from a grill on the outside while not cooking the inside as much (aka "medium rare"). The adjustments you made in an attempt to not overcook the meat probably actually caused the center to cook MORE in comparison to the outside. Well, that's my personal experience from other situations (large restaurant oven), I haven't actually opened the Kalorik Maxx and tested it out yet so it's possible it doesn't apply the same to something with such a tiny interior space.

      Thank you so much for checking out my videos and your thoughts. I have definitely done more experimenting since this time. I've actually upgraded to the newer grill model which in my opinion cooks steaks perfectly. With the model in this video I found cooking them lower from the heating elements definitely works a lot better as you mentioned it should. Thanks again and enjoy your Maxx!

    Hi I just got mine and tried making cinnamon rolls from a can. Do you have any suggestions for having them cook throughout and not burn. I rotated the pan as you said to do. I also lowered the temperature on another batch. I used the bake setting. Also Andy have you ever looked into the cookbook's on Amazon. Was wondering if they can help. Where is the link to other people's recipes that you mentioned in your videos. I really enjoy watching and learning from you. You are a blessing to all of us. God bless.

      Hi Barb, I have not tried making cinnamon rolls from a can yet. That is something I should try. I definitely would cook them in the bake 2 slot using the big function and temperature printed on the packaging. You definitely were right to rotate the pan. Not sure why they got extra well done on top. I'll see if I could try it out this weekend.
      I have heard from some books that the cookbooks on Amazon are not that great.
      Usually when I want to cook something that I have not attempted I just use Google and type in the name of what I'm looking for with the words air fryer after it. I skimmed through all the results and find the best rated recipe.
      Thank you so much for watching my video and look for a cinnamon roll video soon.

We are trying to figure out if there is a way to program the beep volume down or turn it off altogether if it can't be turned down. Any suggestions? One design flaw with this device is that it is hotter in the back than the front. The designer should have attended to that problem as soon as it became evident in their own R&D testing.
    Also, instead of switching it off completely at the end of a bake, you are supposed to let it run its cool down cycle which it does automatically at the end of the selected time period.
    Another thing: the actual temperature reached in the cabinet is has been measured as being lower than the temperature set on the display, sometimes by 50 degrees F. Example: set to 500F but only ever reaches 450F.
    I would love to witness the product's design engineer being shown these flaws and hearing if they are original design fails (i.e. indicating insufficient testing during product development) or manufacturing quality fails.

    • @TheFoodExperience
      @TheFoodExperience  2 роки тому

      I have a few different air fryer ovens from different manufacturers and they all seem to run hotter in the back. I truly believe it's because of the smaller enclosure and materials used for the inside of the devices. It's actually not a big deal for me. If I noticed the back of what I am cooking start Browning then I just rotate the pan or tray. You can switch it off immediately or you can let it run through its cool down cycle.
      I have ran some temperature checks and it does seem to be pretty accurate give or take about 25°. As the thermostat adjusts and the heat fluctuates. Appreciate you tuning in and forgiving your thoughts.

    Hey, do you think that the 500 degrees is mostly for searing and then you cook the steak at whatever temp that you normally use? I normally sear my steak on both sides and then toss it in the oven until the desired doneness is achieved. Reverse sear is also an option too! Perhaps cooking the steak at 500 degrees for the total cooking time would be enticing to people who like their steak well-done. 🤔
    Obviously, like all things in life, there is a learning curve involved when using any new oven or cooking device. You can follow the directions and the recipe to a 'T' but that doesn't necessarily mean that the food is cooked ideally to your liking. The more you experiment the more efficient you become determining your food's doneness or its 'Goldilocks Zone.'

    • @TheFoodExperience
      @TheFoodExperience  3 роки тому +1

      They're definitely is a lot of experimentation along with trial and error that goes into learning the best results from a new device. One thing I have noticed in regards to 500 degrees is the thicker the steak the better the results. Just last weekend I cooked the steak that was 3/4 in thick and it came out pretty good. I'm definitely going to come back and do another steak video once I find a 1-in thick steak. I found a few here and there in between and they came out amazing. The store is never consistent with the cuts they have available. Here is a link to the video I filmed last weekend. Came out pretty dang good.

Since then what I found works perfect for me in regards to bacon is that I put the bacon in the air fryer basket, set the temp at 355 and go for 7 minutes in the regular air fryer position.. Comes out very nice and crispy that way with semi-thick bacon. Fortunately I have not seen smoke come out of it and I have cooked quite a few things after this demo. Tomorrow I will be doing chicken wings for the first time in it. Looking forward to seeing how they come out. Prior to this I had the Cuisinart TOA-60 for 3 years and I find that when I use the same settings I used with that oven that everything comes out perfect. I have gone the the gambit of air fryer cookers in the last 8 years and this is my favorites. I honestly have no idea. Usually with the air fryers there can be error codes of E1-E3. I would recommend contacting Kalorik either through their online chat on the website, Facebook chat or emailing them at helpme@kalorik.com .

    This oven will definitely burn things on presets and most recipes used as stated. I'm having a bakers steel made for this oven. I feel distributing radiant heat from those 1400 degree elements will help with uneven baking. We shall see.

      Sorry for the late reply I did not get the notification about your comment. I never use any of the presets with some exceptions due to the functionality of the particular preset. It definitely Cooks pretty even though I will say. I've made cakes, cookies, pizza and all of those things rely on even heat. Not had one problem.

      Everyone enjoys their steaks at different donenesses. I've been actually enjoying them a lot less done lately.
