TAKE 2 VIDEO: Thanks to one of my followers alerted me that my first video I had a blank ending, so I reuploaded to remove it. Sorry for those of you who watched it already it showed back up in your feed, but there's Christmas music at the end! Merry Christmas friends! 🎄
I've seen Cuprea's do that before, but I don't know why they do it. I suspect that the younger plants will stay pretty until their older. That is my guess anyways. I laughed so hard on your sticky epidsode. I hate them too!
From my research this is another version that people kind of fight over lol there are two forms of cuprea but the only way to know if you have the 'red secret' or green variety is apparently the color of the spathe red secrect the spathe will be a wine red color, the green will be creamy like a normal spathe. Either way the the red, really in my experience ive had both only stays red on the underside and when the leaf first comes out sort of like anthurium leaves where they are red or colorful when they first emerge and then harden off to a lighter or darker green. The red secret tends to hold on to the coloring a bit longer but ultimately its fades. Hope that helps.
You are the best! Thank you for sharing that with me and thank you for still watching my videos! I honestly am not liking the cuprea as much as I used to simply because of that green. I have seen other content creators have large beautiful leaves with dark veining yet green, so maybe mine will eventually get there if I keep it that long. 🫣
