That looks awesome! I've just bought a Grand Vitara for this very reason! Can't wait to get it dirty 😂
Yeah they do amazingly off road
I have one if I didn’t need a bigger car
The 2010 model doesn’t have low gear shift available on the one I have. What do you suggest
I have a 2006 GV amongst other 4x4s and it's probably my favourite. I got the proper lift kit and have several sets of rims and tyres for it. Mine is an odd ball one that not many realise exist, it's a UK/Japan version only and it came with the last 2.0ltr J20A with the noisy solid lifters and the Varaible inlet. It's a 5 speed manual but not the Fiat it's Japanese box origonallyfrom a tiny fire truck and it has the full 4H/4L, centre lock and full rear lock on it as in the very top 4x4 system suzuki ever fitted to them NOT the ABS controlled system I get told mine has by just about everyone. I even had Suzuki Jimny, Vitara & GV owners telling me mine was modified 4x4 system and box to be what it is yet I bought it brand spanking new from the same Local Suzuki dealer I've used here in Scotland since 1995 when i bought an old old original Swift GTi. The only mods I added were the lift kit, Heavy Duty clutch and Rim/Tyres and thats it. Its a monster offroad you can completely spank the thing without fear, it can tow my boat into places only my biggest Land Cruiser and Disco can and they've been drastically modified in every way as far as green laning is concerned. You want the Petrol GVs they are better made engines and take a thrashing all day every day but be warned that if you go for the manual GV that you NEED to get a heavy duty clutch. They are undersized but still heavier made clutch from stock so you just about get away with the stock original clutch as long as you're dumping it out fast and not slipping it, towing wise you need a heavy duty clutch immediately. The heavy duty clutch for like £180 and proper lift kit for like £280 is the Absolute best mod you can make in GVs even the fiat made manual (which is a good box btw) is happy as it gets with a Heavy Duty clutch. Legendary cars and although the Jimny gets all the Praise these days and I owned and loved Jimnys myself... a well sorted older GV is one of the best offroaders there is I can 100% guarantee it
Daves is a good truck not had any problems with when out on trips and doing his own trips
He’s had it from new and juts wanted see what it could do it surprised him so now he’s keeping and useing for adventures
Just lifted mine with the intention of green laneing any one know of any good lanes in Lincolnshire?
@@GWBL95 TW2 would be my first port of call see what lanes are suted to you
Or join local lads out on a trio if you are new to the green lanes and off road
How do you toggle the rear lock? Not saying you're bs
Not sure what the question is about sorry.
Sorry I can’t help
Looks a great day out Greg, Dave's GV did the business as usual . Not been out with Jace since he fitted the BMW motor in the 90.
Hopefully get out with him again when we go round there with the D2 maybe 🤔
That's the most difficult GV too offroad with too but he's got the ground issues sorted OK what's the exact the lift kit on it? Love my GVs me I've had two Vitara and two GVs myself and my missus has had one of both too. Kept the first one I ever bought which was a rare 2006 one that had the "noisy at 3k rpm" solid lifter 2.0 16v J20A variant with the vairable inlet but it was fitted from factory with a Japanese manual 5speed box not the usual Fiat 5 speed (which is a good box too) and it has the highest spec 4x4 Suzuki ever done on a GV with the Hi/lo, Centre lock and rear locker. They swapped out to the ABS controlled system for all models around then which I do still love and think is ideally suited to lighter 4x4s so I'm genuinely not knocking it its fantastic... just mine is a bit better 😂
Good selection of tracks there. Nice to see some Defenders out and about. 👍
Yeah got to love them lanes chosen and there’s still some amazing lanes still around these
Would of loved to go do some secret lanes with Jace hopefully next time we can and show some more crackers lol 😂
Love Defenders ex army here I spent my last 4yrs serving in the REME as a VM to get a trade before my 22yr was up. Could fix Older LR's blind folded now no joke i done engine swaps while on a fishing trip on my 2nd to last Defender. Familiar with all types of older LRs and happy running any LR with my spare parts/toolbox combo and my bigger Jack etc in the boot... but I like my Suzukis too, jimny and GV they are brilliant and I like the way they take 10x the beating I swear I will never give them again.. about 10 times a year.. for 10yr 😂 It's hard not to like Suzuki 4x4s as a Genuine LR guy as they don't seem to give one iota if you twist, bend, beach or sink them... they have a unique ability to just keep going till they are out of the mess they are in and even if you need to pull them out nothing mechanical on them is broke. I'm convinced that they can take a full submersion at a boat ramp I have been told they survive full on boat ramp submersions and still go onto live a full life no electrical issues so I dunno how they've managed that considering they have basic but still modern type wiring and charging system. I suppose Suzuki are good at all electrical stuff from their history of motorbikes and marine. Either way they are brilliant I love Suzuki I really do
I see Jasons truck on a regular basis as his brother lives next door, will speak to him and get up the courage to bring my truck out with you guys soon hopefully.
Nice lad Jace he be happy to show you round some tracks if you ask 🤙
I've just bought the same G.V. just like that one colour and all, this video has just confirmed what it's capable of.
Thanks 👍
Yeah it definitely is check out the video where we do pig lane smashes it with flying colours lol 😂
Dave does have 2inch lift with 30s tyers on all under tray protection
Tight bridge the noise off Chris 90 was CB aerial have it all time in truck when go to farms etc great video and that Suzuki is very surprising
What we can’t figure out is what come flying off it and why it snapped back so hard
Chris thought he hit bridge it was that loud lol 😂
Yeah it a brilliant little 4x4
Great lanes there. That bridge in Betws-y-coed is a new one for me.
Did think the lost lake would get more popular and that washed out bit was a shock.
How's the cottage looking? Roof still hanging on?
Loved seeing the Vitara pick his lines. A lot harder in that but more rewarding.
Yeah some really good lanes and still more that I need to re visit soon
Lost lake tracks in parts the water made washout get filled in but in others there just washed out so bad
Looks like a lot more bikes been up there rather than the 4x4 and that across most lanes at the moment
Did go and have a look and looks lot worse than when I was last there
Dave does well for newish off road driver and he’s willing to do a lot with it at least ones but he’s knows his limits in unlike sone who I seen lol 😂
Another good video
cool video. Shame N wales aint closer to Sheffield as would have been there with my old Pajaro lol. The Suzuki did very well.
some of the best tracks are defiantly in wales well worth a visit, maybe take a weekend over there check out some of the best lanes
Houndkirk Lane is probably the best one there. Easy and busy but nice. Then there's Buxton and the Peaks. Holmfirth as well.
@@NORTHWEST4X4ADVENTURES its fuel etc just for a weekend. alas.

Hi, glad you like the videos 🤙 it was off the UA-cam audio library can’t remember the name of it but I know it was a fairly recent one that was added to the library 🤔
Hope that helps 😉
Looked a good day out.
Was good mate thanks

Some good lanes there, a few a don’t recognise.
That little Suzuki does really really well
@@onewheelinaditch yeah it always surprises me and now I been In it to wow it does good
When the your D2 done you will have to come out with us 👍
CB aerial on the roof of the bridge? 12:59
Yeah it was we wasn’t sure why it did what it did
We now put a new aerial on Chris defender
Where in North Wales?:)
Betws - y coed area
What engine is the suzuki grand vitara?
Will ask for you.
1.9 DDIS diesel
@@NORTHWEST4X4ADVENTURES got the 1.9 myself but some say its not a great engine but mine has been good for 120k miles so far 👍
@@deanmolyneux6757 I didn’t even know they did different ones lol 😂 🤦♂️
Daves our Suzuki man in the group as you can probably tell
@@deanmolyneux6757 the diesels are fine you need to get rid of certain things on them though and you want to give it a hard time regularly to keep it clean. The best engine in GV full stop is the 2.0 with the Vairable inlets but they are quite hard to find with a Japanese manual box and the full on 4x4 system with all the lockers & High low as they were UK and Japan only models. I have one since new in 2006 in the 4x4 amd lift kit spec everyone wants and it's never missed a beat mate it's indestructible and can tow my wee fishing boat and my work boat to places only my heavily modified Land Cruiser and older heavily modified Disco can. They just bounce about like little monster trucks when they need to, yet act like a normal car in the meantime. Amazing cars even the Diesel and lethargic heavy V6 GVs are all reliable as it gets. Seat belt harness wires going under front seat to the weight sensing pads sometimes throw up airbag warning but you just tie wrap them up.. and keep an eye on the headlights where the outer rubber cover bung thing that the H7 bulbed version have that can cause resistance issues loads of blown H7 bulbs, you can tell when you need them replaced as the headlight height adjustment motor starts making motor noises when you move the headlight wiring harness behind the headlight about. Genuinely one of the most reliable vehicles of all time and certainly the two I've had have been the most reliable cars I've ever owned full stop. I don't know anyone here in Scotland that doesn't like Suzuki 4x4s they are known as reliable offroading
Nice! Wheres that first lane? 🤔
go out and explore round the area of Ruthin you shall find it 😉🤙
