- Chicago’s lefty Mayor Brandon Johnson blamed former President Richard Nixon, who resigned from the presidency in 1974 and died in 1994, for the Windy City’s crippling crime problem - after a bloody holiday weekend in which 19 people were killed and more than 100 were injured in shootings.
“Black death has been unfortunately been accepted in this country for a very long time,” the mayor said Monday at a press conference held to address Chicago’s out-of-control gun violence problem.
“We had a chance 60 years ago to get at the root causes. And people mocked President Johnson, and we ended up with Richard Nixon,” he said without elaborating.

I knew it wasn't Brandon's fault that so many murders and shootings occurred while he was vacationing, it was Richard Nixon. Not surprisingly the Nixon library has raised objections with the Mighty Mayor's scapegoating. During the news conference the Chief was asked if there had been any arrest? He muttered something about not wanting to give out too many details at this time. I take that as a no.

Wonder which one of his handlers fed him that material. One thing you can do about the problem is give them a head start getting roles in advertising. They're in every TV commercial just about. You can randomly scan through the channels and 9 times out of 10 they'll be on the screen. This is a tremendous opportunity because commercials could be a springboard to stardom.
