Thanks for posting this video. Of a list of about 30 or so restorers we used to watch regularly, you are the only one still posting. The lighter came out very well, well done.
Nicely done sir. Between the thin metal and small parts, there wasn’t much material for you to work with. The little feet were kind of ugly. The lighter looks far better without them. Great job!
You can do that, sure. But I wanted to have the brass look and it’s okay for me if it just ages with time. Under right conditions it also wont oxidize and look like before the restoration, it will just turn a little darker.
I'M SUCH AN IDIOT!! 🤣🤣🤣 I had to rewind the wick removal and watch it twice to understand the "John" reference! 🤣🤣🤣🤦🏼♂️ Edit: finished watching -- that is a beautiful restoration! What fluid did you use? It looks like alcohol.

Thank you so much for your support, glad you liked the result!
Nice restoration! That lighter should last a long time between fuelings.
Thank you!
Great work sir. Love how you remade and recut that threaded piece.
Thank you my friend!
Turned out great! 🎉🎉🎉
Thank you my friend 🙏🏼

Amazing Job my best friend!
cant wait for the next restoration!
❤️❤️ Thank you! 🫶
I love all of the old UNIQUE lighters once produced. They are so plain now. Even Zippos.
Glad you liked it!
@@DrHutOfHandcraft the only scary part is the flame size. Lol I know that has nothing to do with you; just the way they were designed.
@@NolaGal2601 Yep that’s actually a little scary haha
@@DrHutOfHandcraft just protect the eyebrows!! Lolol
I dunno, I think it looked better with the circular legs and the more precisely right-angled looking cap. That multi-threaded piece was awesome though
Thank you for your comment!

😄 Ja ich habe die seit ein paar Monaten und würde nicht mehr darauf verzichten wollen, ist wirklich ein tolles Werkzeug!

Thank you very much! I also didn’t like the feet, there were kind of weird and didn’t really fit the whole appearance. Glad you liked the video 🙂
Great job Doc. You are one of the best restorers out there. 😁
Thank you, much appreciated! 🙏🏼
Hello All, From The UK👋
Hi
Three wheels at the bottom... My first intention was a tiny workshop-vac !😂
😂😂
Amazing, dude! Really beautiful work!!! 😃
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Thank you mate, I appreciate it! Stay safe 🙏🏼

Nice.
Thank you 😄
After restoring the brass shouldn’t we electroplate it with something or add some protection layer so it wont oxidize again?
You can do that, sure. But I wanted to have the brass look and it’s okay for me if it just ages with time. Under right conditions it also wont oxidize and look like before the restoration, it will just turn a little darker.
You cpuld also make a cap to go over the top,
I could have but I decided not to because it originally only had the cap were the wick is

Thank you, glad you liked the video!
It was just lighter fluid, the one I used is with gasoline.
❤❤❤❤❤
❤️
Looked like someone was wanting it to look like some type of vacuum with wheels on the bottom you didn't replace
Maybe yes 😄
🙌
😄
Верни Пепелацу шасси!
Hm? 😄
Forgot to clean the inside of the lighter
Ehm no I actually cleaned the inside of the lighter on the lathe which is also shown in the video 😄
A video from Dr. Hut makes everything a little lighter. (See what I did there? 😅)
😂😂🫶 Thank you my friend 🙏🏼
I see what you did there.

2:46 i think this process useless
What exactly? Removing the spark wheel? 😅
