- Something I've been focusing on in my art (and life as well)l, is being more intentional. Its so easy to just say "this isn't the art supply for me." After struggling with watercolors for years, im trying very hard to be more intentional and patient with it and see what happens. I think it really helped! What about you?

Can we just appreciate how good she is at conveying so many emotions with just her hands?
Also she's an amazing artist, absolutely incredible! :D
Yeah!!
Also if you hadn't seen the conversation already we all discussed how it was confirmed by the FBI that she is just a floating pair of hands!! lol
OH MY GOSH I loooooove how she introduced the watercolors in traditional Bob Ross fashion. I am a huge fan of Bob Ross. I am wearing Bob Ross socks right now. ❤❤❤
Hahaha
I haven't gotten bored of it yet. hahaha
Yes! And the infomercial on the paintbrushes 😂 1-800-paintbrush
I remember when I was younger, I watched bob Ross every morning on the weekends. So calming!😃
I know! I love Bob Ross too! He is So calming.
Just wanted to share that “cacti”, “cactuses”, and “cactus” are all acceptable as the plural for “cactus”. Go ahead and say “cactuses” to your hearts content😀🌵🌵🌵

I think the 3rd one has to be my favorite. Such a calming feel to it
i feel that, for sure!
Just a helpful hint you will probably want to avoid brushing the hairs of your brush on your hand when you first receive it. Instead you will need to soak you paint brushes before you use them. Many high quality paint brushes have a light coating on them to hold their shape until they get to the consumer, using the paint brush before this coating is removed can lead to the brush loosing it's shape. It's a small thing you never hear until someone tells you, just thought I should share. There are a few youtube videos on how to do this, hope that helps 😊
Yay!! I’ve been practicing watercolors recently, and when I watch your videos it’s super inspiring! Can’t wait to paint with you :)
what a fun coincidence! how's that be going for you?
pretty fun, I keep spilling water all over the paper though :,)

Rin: "It looks just like-"
Me: "Ah yes a lovely morning sky"
Rin: *"--BACON"*
😂😂
The fact that Rin went from saying she's quitting watercolors to now creating something she's proud of with them will never fail to inspire me
12:01 "How did I do that?" 😂 This is what come across my mind every time I'm painting with watercolor, either if it's looking great or terrifying 🤣, the paint just go wherever it wants, that's what makes them so amazing, is challenging fun. (Sorry, I don't speak English)
Watching you discover watercolors makes my heart so happy. Part of the watercolorsnacks subscription includes live classes (that are recorded if you can’t make them) using the materials ✨from the box✨ I’m not affiliated with them, just so happy they restarted this service 🥰
I'm was feeling pretty blah today but when I opened up my laptop to one of Rin's videos I knew my day was going to be alright. 😊💕
Hope your mood continues to improve! 💜
I hope you’ll feel better Leah!
Aww hope you feel alright now!
What cheers me up is not only watching Rin's videos but also reading the comments on her videos, seeing all these artists chatting, giving tips and just being very kind in general. It warms my heart knowing that almost everyone in the comments are either artists or art lovers! ❤💖💗 reminds me every week of where I want my channel following to be someday.

@@drawingwiffwaffles I have come for advice
Do you think I can …start a merch shop
I’m a big watercolours user, and I really love Daniel Smith. Amethyst genuine is actually made out of real amethyst. They have a whole series made out of stones, and it’s quite pricy 😭
Also, here is my little advice :) With watercolours you wanna work in layers ; the more layers the better it’ll look ! That’s why it’s better to avoid using it with no or little water, otherwise it’ll look cakey 😭 Hope this helps a little ! 👀
oh, cool! I'm not a huge watercolor user (i'm trying to not suck at drawing first lol) but that's really helpful!
Oh my god why have I never heard this tip before?? I have some colors where they're most appealing to me at their full saturation, but when I finish a painting I end up hating it because of how gross the texture was in the saturated areas.
You just changed my whole life tysm QvQ
Yeah with watercolours you're meant to paint in "washes", building up the saturation using layers, and you get beautiful transparency which is an effect unique to the watercolour medium.
Well, the idea is that the primateks are genuine gemstones, but it's the question how much is actually the gemstone and how much is filler pigments.
And because they refuse to disclose it, it's better not to expect a lot.
2:50 It was just painful having to listen to the three advertisements while drinking my apple juice because I just kept laughing internally
hahahahahahahhah sry
the way you said "I'm learning things~" is literally me when I got to learn something exciting 😌
This looks amazing I really like how you draw the cactus you are so talented!!!!!!
I really like the watercolors too
Thank you Layla! 💜
Hullo Rin, lovely studies! I have a real belief that creating a study or three gives you more understanding about art supplies than simple swatches! I have a watercolor painting tip? If the paper feels dry but is cool it is not truly dry! The surface is dry but the water has not completely left the paper. I have found that if you use the back of your hand and it no longer is cool to your touch, it will no longer bleed or fuzz out. I hope you continue to share your watercolor art journey with us, thanks Rin!
thanks for the tip!
Little tip- I actually love using Amethyst genuine mixed with Indigo or Dioxazine Violet for shadows. It's a sparkly one too! I love your little desert practice pieces.
I am in no way an artist of your caliber - for starters, I haven't practiced as much - so I hope this doesn't come off as presumptuous or anything, but your journey with watercolor always makes me want to paint RIGHT NOW. Watching someone else improve, and be vulnerable enough to share the hiccups along the way, is downright inspiring.
So thank you for being vulnerable. 💖
The timing on this is so so good. I've been wanting to study watercolor more because my drawings are currently just black and white and this is perfect motivation to get to it!
omg 😭 so proud, as a year 8 longtime viewer, seeing Rin get a good watercolour experience is so wholesome bc it is not frequent 😂
Watercolour is my absolute fav art supply, the paper is so magnificently textured, I love it❤️❤️❤️
DS trying to sneak their "genuine" watercolors everywhere they can after the disastrous way they handled the scandal 🤦♀️.
That said, Rin, you are an inspiration for the way you always try with all the art products you use. 👍

Desert landscapes are my jam, watercolors, markers, acrylics... And these are amazing Waffles. I know you don't usually like landscapes but you for sure have the knack for this. Wonderful!
Maybe they’ve been waiting for you to take them seriously 😂
Love unboxings of mistery art boxes-- so much mistery
Loved the call back to those old commercials selling you products with a phone number at the bottom to call to place an order. I never bought anything from tv but I remember those commercials VIVIDLY.
NOT THE CHRISSY WAKE UP SONG 😭 PLIS I WASNT EXPECTING THAT!!!
You never cease to amaze me!!!! I have learned so much from you this year. (Favorite video's sculpting your bunny in a sweater) Thanks for sharing your creativity with us!
That 3rd one in particular is absolutely stunning!! I really love it. It has so much atmosphere to it, it's beautiful.
I know exactly what you mean about watercolours I keep trying to talk my Mam into teaching me. She does landscapes which isn't really my thing but I think I can use techniques I learn from her in my own style like you said.
I'm so proud of you for creating these three pretty landscapes! You did incredible💜
aaa it makes me so happy to see watercolors finally "click" for you, Rin. By the way, a cool technique you can try is using dry and wet brushes for blending-- using a clean dry brush to go over edges of color boundaries will make a hard edge, and using a clean wet brush to do the same thing will make a soft edge and blend the colors out :)
im always looking forward to ur posts!!!!!!! this is amazing :D
It’s so inspiring to see someone just dive right in. I envy your effortless confidence! All of your videos encourage me to just go! You are so talented, thank you for sharing. I’ve struggled my entire life with being insecure, especially with my artwork but I’m always excited and hopeful to create after watching your videos.
I loved how the 3rd one looked to begin with, so wispy! ^_^
They all turned out great, I absolutely fell in love with the third one! I love watching your videos, I always learn new unexpected things too. Never liked colours that are in and around the brown family much at all, so I find it quite interesting that the third one is my favourite one, maybe it's the contrasts and more pastel vibes? Great video and great job being patient! ♥️

i've been practicing maths since all day and this is the BEST way to relax Rin!
You're videos are seriously the best
Hey Rin! Love this video.
Wanted to leave a suggestion for using watercolours.
Something I really like to do is a "splat" or "spill" on my canvas and just kind of let the paints do it's thing, and then when it's dry you go over it with pen or more watercolours/acrylics and just kind of turn whatever shapes you see into whatever you think they look like.
It's kind of like looking at clouds and seeing which clouds look like what, but you get to sort of control what you see in it.
I really like this technique because not only does it give you a lot of freedom but it also doesn't give you too much freedom to the point that you don't know what to draw. And also you start with a big paint splatter on your canvas so there's no chance of having a fear of the blank page problem.
Anyways, I'm sure it's been suggested before, but I thought I'd let you in on my thoughts just in case!
Love to see you getting a hang of these art supplies, seems like you've almost mastered a lot of them! (And even fully mastered some.) Love ya art buddy!! ❤💖💗
PS. It is currently 2AM while writing this so ignore any poor english or confusing sentences...I tried!! 😂

They're amazing paintings. I love how your style changes with different supplies and colour combinations. 😊
The same thing happens to me all the time. I can't have patience , I put the background color and immediately put the colours of the characters. The paint spreads every where and I create a mess. 😅😅
