Sonic Generations 3DS, although being sUPER WEIRD, is also super fun. It includes some stages that Sonic Generations on Consoles or Base PC doesnt have. Mushroom Hill and Water Palace (I think thats its name. The one from Sonic Rush).

I think the Dream Skiing event was loosely based on the stage.

Tip for Sonic Generations 3DS: Tap Y to go to the max capable sprint speed without having to manually run and gain momentum
thats called the boost and its on a meter and he already uses it
@@oldducky2796 That’s not necessarily what he’s referring to. What he’s saying is that doing a short burst Boost will get Sonic at max speed without having to continuously hold the Boost - the speed gained in the Boost is kept while being able to conserve the gauge, unlike the console version where you slow down to the running speed cap when you stop holding the button.

You can use this video to definitely show one thing; sega seems to have never gotten shadow’s skating animation to look as good/smooth as it did in SA2. imo afterwards it just didn’t look as cool.

God, watching that Sonic 06 version really puts into perspective how boring 06’s movement is. It’s so stiff and slow and has none of the flow of SA2 or Heroes.
Thankfully, that's where ChaosX's Project 06 comes in

@Bagelbite The Neutral when you're hitting a boostpad sure but by himself sonic doesn't gain any natural momentum and the collision detection makes getting stopped dead in your tracks hella easy

What kind of vehicle is this highway even designed for? IT HAS LOOPS IN IT
When I was small, I saw the trailer for sonic generations for ps3 and 3ds and little me thought that the gameplay would be the same for the ps3 as the gameplay for the 3ds and I owned a 3ds so I went my way to buy the 3ds version. When I booted it up I was so confused wondering why it wasn't like in the trailer, but I still finished the game obviously.
The dum thing about me is that I did the same thing years later with sonic lost world.
7 years later sonic lost world's release date, I decided to go to steam (at that time i received a pc) and searched up sonic games. I saw sonic generations the ps3 version and it had a HUGE discount, I'm saying a 95% off discount, so of course I HAD to buy it and I enjoyed that version WAY more than the 3ds version.
Yea I thought the same when I was younger the ps3 version of sonic generations is fantastic
i had a similar experience with unleashed. i got the wii version for christmas and that was how i discovered the game. i eventially did see someone play it on ps3 and i was very confused when i saw them roaming around the apotos hub world
@@TheyCallMeBruski I've never been able to play the ps3/360 version of unleashed as ive never owned any of those consoles 😭 I wish that unleashed would come onto steam

The Heroes Mod is a great recreation of the Highway while trying to make the Heroes assets work with it!
The 06 Mod is a faithful recreation but limited my how shit 06 is
The World one feels a bit bland but is a great recreation!
Meanwhile the 3DS Generations one is a great recreation with the creativity of converting it into a playable 2.5D level being admirable!

I mean the reason why the speed characters are bad is because of the acceleration I heard. Everything else in the code is similar to Adventure 2 controls. The reason why the acceleration is turned up is because they had to use a new engine. So the main problem is the acceleration being to high.
Also what’s wrong with them being fast ?

@@IBL15 The 06 mod, in true 06 fashion, also allows you to take Silver back a couple of years too early. Why? Because the developers had to use the same stages for all three chars to get the game out, because Sega wouldn't let them delay it because apparently, anniversary games only count if they're on an integer multiple of 5.

What they should have done with the classic stages in forces is to take inspiration from 3d gameplay from the ds version of sonic generations.
There is no ds version and there is no 3D gameplay in the 3DS version.
