I'm hoping the Australian authorities don't make their beekeepers reinvent the wheel. Unfortunately, I'm not optimistic.
With all the budget cuts to the DPI and DAFF over the years I don't have high hopes of things running quickly or smoothly at all.
Thanks Randy for your time Mate
Great interview- I learned a lot. Which is awesome because the learning curve is quite steep 🤪
Thanks guys appreciate the info exchange. I'm only new to this game but already I'm worried for my bees, poor little girls
i've been using a couple of different mitocides for the last couple of years here in the uk and oxalic acid vape in the winter brood break, nxt season i will be changing to a product called Varromed which is a combo of oxalic acid and formic acid, it's a natural treatment approved by ec for organic beekeeping. it can be applied any time of the year.
What treatment does Randy use on his hives?
I've looked at fogging as a method of treatment.
Varoa mites show that it's not so much "survival of the fittest," bur more like, "survival of the most prolific reproducer."
What is the natural products or treatments that Randy is using and how are they used to control the mites? Also, what are the blocks used for the thymol treatments?
Excellent thank you. Although I am stopping keeping bees, this info will be passed on. Thank you
