okay obviously this ivy is AMAZING and i love her but can we talk about how i can literally feel the pain in peters voice when he says “did you sleep with her?”
this song honestly rocks so hard but it makes me so sad. ok but the tune of 'feel it how it grows inside me' and/or 'it hits me, paralysing shudder' is aboslutely fantastic/
Katie Stevens (Nadia McConnell) and Lindsay Pearse are amazing- in Promise, which I don't believe is on this channel but has a video on YT, Pearse's vocal patterns and singing really makes her sound annoyed and stressed while Jonah Platt's (Jason's ) vocal stylings emphazises the stress
I know that Ivy’s acting and facial expressions are soul crushing but Nadia’s are also so heartbreaking because she is horrified that 1) her brother would, even unintentionally, cause that pain 2) She had thought that Ivy’s life was perfect and had just said that she would trade places with her in a heartbeat but now she feels so terrible about herself I love both of their performances so much and I cry whenever I see this video
Anyone else find it kinda funny that while Ivy's over here singing and crying, Jason and Peter are eating each other's faces? No? Just me? -I'll see myself out-
i kinda find it attractive somehow...idk... don't come at me pls. PS before i read ur commenr i haven't realised that they were kissing, i never saw the musical, so i didn't know they are a couple, so, thanks for bringing my attention to that.
@@philspence3073 oh that’s different..... I heard that this was Peter and Jason’s first time going “all the way” since in You and I jason says “let’s see how far we get” which is why it was so bad in promise.... but the fighting would also make sense
@@vladagherman3255 what the fighting means is that it leads into the messy break up in promise and gives peter's "No" some context. he's not wanting to hear Jason out after the way he was treated.
They changed the show and made the character skinny, combining her with the drug dealer character. Ironic, isn't it? Nadia's story was about how the world hates fat people and then her own show changes her from being a fat girl.
In this production, Nadia's story stays untouched where is it still about her being fat although the actress portraying Nadia is far from it. I think they took a twist with her having body dysmorphia where she sees herself as fat, and self-harms to cope with it. And Ivy, being a snooty girl and insecure herself picks at Nadia because she knows it is something Nadia is insecure about it. I think they also went with casting the best qualified voice as well and then came up with the idea of Nadia only seeing herself as fat because throughout the show many people tell her she is crazy and she isn't fat. Sorry if this is totally random this is just a part I have very closely studied due to interest in portraying the role!
Kati Rose this specific production had its backing tracks rewritten slightly! It’s a rock musical because of the difference in style. Have a good day and wash your hands! 💕
How is she hateful?? I think her character is incredibly valuable. It humanizes women and comments on the ‘slut’ stereotype that so many young ladies are labeled with.
I think people just dislike her because she's the "other woman" character, coming between the couple, but she doesn't know she's doing that, and she's just a girl in love with her own difficulties. She doesn't really show her complexity until act 2 here and in Touch My Soul: in act 1 she's mostly just single-mindedly perusing Jason and not showing any deeper personality. But overall she's complex and well-written.

And that jerk lied to him!!!!

She is the best Ivy. This production is the best that I've ever seen.

The casting was absolutely superb for this production.

Lindsey is absolutely incredible. Best performance of this song I've ever seen. The raw emotion she puts into the character gave me goosebumps.

Lindsay is perfection 💕

Anyone else find it kinda funny that while Ivy's over here singing and crying, Jason and Peter are eating each other's faces? No? Just me?
-I'll see myself out-
I think in some versions Peter and jason fight and that leads into the messy aftermath of promise
i kinda find it attractive somehow...idk... don't come at me pls. PS before i read ur commenr i haven't realised that they were kissing, i never saw the musical, so i didn't know they are a couple, so, thanks for bringing my attention to that.

its that Katie Stevens?
yes
Katie Stevens can sing like full on musical theatre damn didn’t recognize her in this clip
Peter: Did you sleep with her?
Jason: *straight up lies, and Peter believes him (!)*
Me, who's only watched the Argentina production : wait W A T
What does it show in the Argentina production?
I LOVE this, but why is Nadia skinny now? Or was that just a result of casting the best-qualified vocally instead of niche casting?

@@sydsss999 there's also the part in 'plain Jane fatass' where it's revealed her mum is also part of the problem
@No yes 100% I agree, that is seen in most Nadia’s whether they are heavier or not!
Peter and Jason eating eachovers faces wile ivy sings emotionally cuz she did not use no protection with gay Jason
2:39 for future reference 🥺
actually this isn’t the rock musical but okay
