    It’s Sep 2019 and I still have my G16. I also own a 6D, 80D and an EOS R. I will never sell my G16 and if something happens to it, I will go to the ends of the earth to buy another one. This camera was far ahead of its time... the image quality, build quality, features and lens are all breathtaking.

      I bumbled upon one of these at a thrift store for about $15; ridiculously underpriced, and I am very impressed. I ordered a charger for the battery. It has been a wonderful addition to my arsenal of cameras. There are times that a photographer doesn't want to haul a DSLR around, yet wants to have a pocketable camera that allows creative control. This is it. By far the best of the Canon PowerShot "G" series of the ones I have.

    Got my 1st G16 after dropping my G15 off my bike while taking pics while riding. So went to the G 16 then for my bike travels about the US. About 10 years ago and another couple 100 k miles of on the move picture taking. Have two them presently and still used lots behind my M50.

    Hi; Many thanks for your tour of the G16 !
    I have owned this camera for a long time from new and was proficient iin using it. for a long time until a while back I was diagnosed with Alhzheimers and my photography came to a s stand stll !
    I `m now slowly gettimng to know things photographic again and this means every thing including basic operation and on my 5D bodies, even how to put a new card in1
    Although I now have David Taylo'rs expanded guide I have still been struggling to make progress. Your spoken guide uas been invauable today it re-learning the G16.
    I will be wading through it all again tomorrow! Many thanks - Barry Turner - Derbyshire, UK.

    I bought this camera a month ago. Technology has come a long way in the 13 years since I got into digital photography. The camcorder in this camera is 10X better than my first camcorder I bought in 1995 (standard def- not digital). Perfect for long exposures too although you will need a tripod for this.

    Hi Omar, I have been looking for a replacement camera for my mom's Canon A1590 and your review has been extremely helpful, however I had a quick question. Her greatest complaint with the old camera was that there was an extreme lag between taking the first picture and taking a second. As you have used this camera, does it take pictures fairly quick? Again, amazing review!

    Omar, hi! My needs from a camera is to set and forget and be able to use it at a moment's notice to take family shots. The G16 was highly recommended to me by the salesman. He set up the settings so that I could do just that: set and forget and I've been very happy with that. Unfortunately someone (hubby) had a play around with the settings and I'm terribly upset because I don't know what the salesman set them to except that he turned the flash off. Can you suggest what my settings should be please? ATM the top dial is set on auto; the one below it is set on '0'. When I turn the camera on it shows an L, 4331, FHD, 30P, 85' 42". Below these is a flash symbol inside a circle with a line through it. I have no idea what any of this means and can't make head nor tail of the 200 odd pages of instructins that I printed out. Can you please help a little old lady. BTW the salesman no longer works at that store so don't know who else to ask. Thank you in advance.

    • @omarcorrea
      @omarcorrea  9 років тому +1

      +TheBunnyc You should be able to just set it into Auto mode and it'll handle everything for you.

    • @TheBunnyc

      OK thanks Omar. I thought the settings that show up when I turn the camera on might mean something wasn't set right. I'll try auto. Thanks again.

    Hi Omar, I recently bought the G16 to use mainly for video. I'm not really very experienced with cameras so it's been fun practicing and getting used to this one. I'm having one problem with the movie feature, as I film a moving scene the camera seems to go out of focus and I don't know how to refocus it. Any idea how to do this? It's probably a really silly and obvious question, but like I say, I'm new to cameras! Thanks!

    • @omarcorrea

      @VamLoveAndKisses 10 років тому

    • @unprofessionalvids
      @unprofessionalvids 11 років тому +1

      maydangerous
      for photography it beats most DSLR setups unless you have very expensive lens. The lens we have on the G16 would be 28-140m f1.8-2.8.. that is waaay better than that 17-55 you have. If you want good video get a DSLR with a flip screen and good autofocus.. That means the eos 70D. 70D is better than 5D mark3 when it comes to video
