I think it's really symbolic how when u look at the Land of OOO and all the tragedy it's been through u really wish that that would never happen, humanity would be smart enough to not start the mushroom war and Lich would never exist. We learned of course that that's impossible back at the beginning of AT s5, but here we see that even if it was possible, it wouldn't really fix much in the long run. Because in Fionna's world everything seems normal, yet every single character we've seen so far feels miserable. Especially Fionna. So normal and safe doesn't always equal happy and accomplished. Sometimes they r even opposite to each other and u need to choose. And that's a fascinating theme. And also, yeah the town Fionna lives in feels off, not just because of what u mentioned (which I didn't even notice), but also because of other things. Like, no actual town is that boring and uninteresting. And did u notice that nobody even agnowledged the existence of smth beyond this town? Weird.

I love AT but Distant Lands wasn't that amazing imo. It still had a powerful finale for Finn and Jake yes but as a whole show, it was fine. BUT THIS?! The first 2 eps already blew me away. I ACTUALLY LOVE THIS SHOW SO FAR.
