I heard that too. I think the script was worded oddly and his delivery made the oddity more apparent. Without double checking, I think it was emphasizing “in addition to” - but I cringed a bit on that one! 🤗
Your backpack should be the THIRD or FOURTH thing that you pick, after your tent and sleep system and maybe your cook system. This prevents you from getting a pack that is too small to fit all your gear or too light to carry the weight of your gear.
issue with that is though you assume a person will be buying all good gear at once.. some people tend to buy a cheap sleep and shelter system and later down the line upgrade so in order to even do their very first hike, they either use their old backpack or buy a cheap one from the internet and then start upgrading later when they realise this is a hobby to last. Usually what I would recommend in that case is to buy a decent backpack with decent size as a starter and then upgrade your equip slowly until you know exactly what you will stick with and then invest in an expensive backpack.
I’ve pawed over the Saber pack before. Is that the line you’d suggest? Or another? Don’t know them as well. I’ve got a good impression of the name but can’t recall what it’s based on.
Of this group, the Atmos. I don’t trust the hyper lite to survive my trips/kids. The optic…ironically for the name, I just don’t like the looks. Deuter looks good, but not a brand I’ve used before. If the 4 remaining, I’d roll the dice with any of them. But, the atmos seems a smidgen more to my needs. Just a smidgen. Maybe half a smidgen…..
As an American man, the pronunciation is also very aggravating. Agreed that it’s Den-ee-er. Saying it incorrectly dozens of times throughout the video was like fingernails on a chalkboard.

As an English man, the pronunciation of denier is soooo aggravating. Its pronounced den e eer.
Same with Deuter, it's not Doodoor, but D-oi-tt-eh-r
Hi lady
