The creative brilliance of children. Using what is available to make their own fun. No electronics or expensive games. Just a plan to gave fun together. Luv it!
Exactly the point fam! That's really how our childhood looked like back in the days in The Gambia. We really got creative. Thank you so much for your comment
I remember growing up in Florida, we played marbles, hopscotch, and hunted lizards with rubber guns. LOL We made fun with what we had, and it filled our days with joy. Plus there wasn't one kid in our neighborhood who was overweight. :)
We did the same in the 90s as well! So many similarities, it's great! And we had sooo much fun lol. It seems like it was more fun being a kid back then lol
I spent about 2 months in Banjulunding in 2012 and the girls in the village played Pribam often. I had so much fun learning! It's so interesting how similar some of the games are to ones I played in the 90's as a kid. I also wouldn't have thought that the kids there are also preoccupied with electronics. May kids everywhere start to embrace the lost art of playing. Thank you for sharing!
Hey sis, thank you for sharing! How lovely, I'm sure you miss the time you spent there, even though it was a long time ago! Amen sis, playing these games will be lost and replaced with electronics if we don't pass them down to our kids
This was so cool to watch. I've always been interested to know what childhood games OUR Brothers and Sisters played on the continent. "Slide" was a popular game in African American communities too.
Wow I got to this comment now after such a long time lol sorry! But yeah, that is cool though. The games probably got from Africa to the Americas during the horrible times our ancestors went through. The games traveled along
We did similar here in America from the 40s thru the 90s good times .. the game with rocks we call jacks and the rope games we call double Dutch jump rope .. great memories #Onelove
Glad to see you enjoying your holidays with so much fun, nice weather, nice people nice food and many many other niceties. Your cousin Mam Binta is just wonderful, always smiling and positive.
Hey sis! Thank you so much, glad to have you here ! Hahahha it's not that hard though, it might look more difficult that what it is lol! I'm sure you could pull it off And nice seeing you in the Gambia even if it was for a short while lol
