    Whats your winner here?
The reason why I didn't include the Sega CD version is because I don't own any sega cd unit and to find an everdrive pro for a fair pirce here in europe is mission impossible
I didn't expect the SNES version to have loading times (in some cases) longer than the PS1 version. So I do think its the Sega Gegensis or PS1 that takes the first place here. Agreed?

Excellent video - Lol it's a technological marvel how the game even has loading times on a cartridge based system. 😂

@@99Vood99 That was Travelers Tales for you, they were a "fanboy developer" that always tried their worst on any Nintendo console they released a game.

I love how the megadrive and snes can hold up to a more powerfull console.
Back in the day the game looked realy good but you cant deny the better looks and sound on ps one.
Personally i always found the magical quest on snes the best Mickey game because of the powerups.
    It was so good.

No Sega CD version? WHAT! Joking aside I had this for the SNES back in the day and picked up the Genesis version a couple years back, and while I like both of them I do recommend the Genesis version over all as it just runs better and the final boss fight music with Pete is a BANGER. Legit, go look that up here on UA-cam, it's good.
The Playstation version though never set right with me due to it being so much slower due to PAL release, and even the speedrunning community was unable to speed it up. As a tired, rambling aside, if you want to see this game get broken as a speedrun just check out the Japanese SFC version, you can intentionally trigger warps with too many sprites on the screen that the dev's admitted to years later as the game bugging out and crashing, and to get around having to fix it before release with Nintendo they just called it a "level warp." INSANITY.

Big fan of the Mega Drive version but I also like the PSX improvements. On SNES, the picture frame is too close. Also a lot of framedrops on SNES (no fastrom perhaps?).

The PS1 version was the most balanced for me. SNES difficulty level is horrible.

@@wobblingpixels3921 Really, the difficulty level on the SNES sucks. I'm trying to beat this version through the SNES Station on my PS2, and God, this game is so freaking hard. @@jsr734 do you really believe that?

    • @jsr734
      @jsr734 2 роки тому

@@iwanttocomplain yes i do 😊. I think that even if unfinished or rushed the snes version has some good points like in the "Ghosts hunters" stage where some platforms feel very narrow on the Genesis version making this section more frustrating and difficult than in snes where the stretched graphics make platforming in that section easier. Also water sections use proper transparency on snes vs a dithered mesh on Genesis.
But of course lots of effects went missing on snes, sometimes making you ask: for real Traveler's Tales 🙄!? As the missing fade in circle on the title screen and the screen diming while Mickey press the switch on "'The Mad Doctor" (wich was fixed on the japanrse realese).
But despite all the flaws and ommisions i really like the "feeling" of controling Mickey and the sound he does when landing from a jump as it gives a "weight sensation" to the snes version.

@@jsr734 I’m sure they tried their best. The target system of a game is always the best version as the game is designed to accommodate that hardware, so ports are usually compromised in some way, especially if a different company is responsible.

    • @jsr734

I guess the game is decompressing the graphics to be used in the levels. And apparently the decompression algorithm is not optimized for the snes hardware.
