I’m not that into flight sims, but I wish I could go back into the late 90s and show 10 year old me and my friends this game as we were messing around with that times flight sims from demo disks. This is exactly how I dreamt future games would be like.
Even "Flight Sim 2004" (from the year of the same name... don't you remember that year after 2003 called Flight-Sim 2004??). Well, It looked very realistic; had great aircraft, sky and cloud modelling; and as far as aircraft flight systems went, it was excellent. If you wanted to pilot an A320 from London Stanstead to Munich. you could accurately programme the on-board flight computer, and fly by total aircraft flightplan control; except of course taxiing from your boarding dock to the holding point on the assigned runway, and then manually controlling the take-off, and then when nearing your destination, following the ATC and engaging an IFR landing procedure, and just controlling altitude and speed, flaps, undercarriage until touchdown, and then following ATC to your new dock at the airport. Most of the more accurate aircraft systems were made by third-party companies for the sim, and it could get as hands-on you wanted; Microsoft gave fairly basic - but semi-realistic - systems to the default aircraft, which were great for newcomers to give an overall 'realistic' feel.... which was great! This new one does look significantly better though, and I would hope that the same modding community and add-on industry jumps in to support it... :-)
I'm not interested in this as a flight sim, I NEED to try it in VR just to go sightseeing. I've only been outside the UK once in 42 years, so this will be amazing. I've never used the word beautiful to describe a game before, but this more than qualifies.

Reality is at best only a series X will realistically see a release of this game anyway if they'll even bother with the hassle of trying to convert it.
Either way, this illustrates the only way you're ever getting true next gen is through PC, it always has been and always will be the gatekeeper to top end gaming.
I think you're mistaking PC with a PS4, my PC never makes that sounds underload.
The lights in the cities at night is unreal. I can't even fathom how they achieved that many light sources with such high density and are able to render in real time.
Your CPU would tell you their secrets but it can't catch a breath.
Because it's mostly pre-baked, so it's not really calculating everything in real-time. Also, you can see that they use fairly low-res shadows, even when close to the camera.
Theo Stevens That’s what I was thinking too. They probably used a hack with a hidden light source under the plane to get the ambient light from the city to reflect off it. Still looks impressive.

I can say you so much (am under NDA for the Alpha): 8 GB of RAM might not be enough unless you like crashes.
16 GB should really be the minimum for this game unless you want it to look like Flight Simulator X.
Also, damn that game is already releasing? Maybe I've already lost my Alpha Access, thought it would release in October at the earliest.
Its on the games page on the Microsoft Store. Beefy specs
@@vargurlive If you'd actually comprehend my comment, you knew that I meant to say "I cannot go into details as I technically signed an NDA".
Ofc, the specs are no secret, maybe the fact that the game barely runs with 8 GB or RAM or let alone a quad-core i5 @>4.7 GHz might be surprising for people still stuck in the Flight Simulator X days. That game looks horribly to today's standards. At least Flight Sim is not pulling "a FIFA" here, releasing barely better graphics and basically the same content and features. Also it 's included in Game Pass - hooray. Though I wish it would also release on Steam or Epic for those not on Windows 10 >=1903 (or maybe 1909 by then), including maybe Linux even.
30fps with maxed settings on a 2080ti is more than acceptable for this kind of game though.

@DANK Nintendo & Nvidia already cooking something delicious...It's will play Flight Simulator & Cyberpunk in glorious 2k60fps in handheld mode & 4k60fps in tv mode...PS5 & PC will respect Switch, hehehe
I remember my class mate like 10 years ago, was playing flight simulator on his ipod and also on pc, his dream was to become a pilot. And now he graduated as a pilot and he fly with airbuses with 220 people on board. His only person who made his dream come true, ofc his studies cost 60k euros, but it was worth it
Wow. Can't wait to find my house! Btw, which mad person had the idea to do it 1:1 for the entire world ! That's insanity!
well, all flight sims are 1:1 scale of the earth if thats what you mean.
@@ddha0000 Yep, going back quite a few years. Even when most games had maps only the size of a COD multiplayer map.
Now THIS is next-gen stuff right here! Absolutely beautiful! WOW! Imagine a sandbox of the same scale. Ludicrous! And with VR??? Sweet honey barbeque!
The definitive PC game where current high end hardware is actually being pushed.I don't remember seeing that happen since the original Crysis
its called RDR2
@@Realthinx RDR2? Please, that's just GTAV with newer textures and lighting
@@Realthinx you're joking right? It looks good but it's not pushing any boundaries. It's got shockingly poor optimisation, that's why it's a hog to run.
@@noneofyourbuisness2539 "Shockingly poor optimisation" is an overstatement.
@@noneofyourbuisness2539 it's not poor optimization, it's called hardware demanding ...
I NEED THIS NOW.
So happy that this is coming out in less than a month!
Airline company: I was informed you are applying for the Co-pilot position, where did you get your training from?
Me: Flight simulator
Next question: "Did you play in easy mode?"
Reminds me of Snakes On A Plane lol!
@@relaxmpg 90% of people will do because they think its a game abs will just spend time crashing into buildings etc
I'm a PC guy and this is what I call a ground-breaking game, not some random ass TPS over the shoulder reskin games.
Ground breaking comment saying the same thing twice in a row 🤭
This game never break any ground in the making of it. That need a lot of energy like bomb or earthquake to break any ground on earth.
Well if you are only interested in the technical side of things and literally nothing else about game design then I see where you are coming. A flight simulator will never be called a "ground-breaking game" though.
@@weaverquest
DF literally called it one.
I see what ya did there 😉
I feel like performance would be insane on dx12. imagine this fidelity but with 10% better performance across the board. that's kinda amazing
The power of the cloud is finally here. Better late than never I guess

You've got to love Microsoft. They've managed to show one of the worst looking next-gen games and the most beautiful one, all within a week.
Jokes aside, we finally have a look at proper implementation of 'power of the cloud'. I hope that we'll get more of that in the future, to enhance games beyond what's possible on consoles and PCs.
😂😂👌
Saying halo is the worst looking next gen game is over exaggerating and it’s a Xbox one game scaled to run on series x and the game play we saw wasn’t on Xbox but a shitty pc
@@josephbaptista3950 Dude, I know it's X1 game. But MS has NEVER said it publicly. And that is on them. Not only this, but the game is not ready to be released on launch. It needs to be delayed like Cyberpunk. But that would be even worse publicity than it already is.
Now, I've watched a lot of reactions to the reveal, from devs to Digital Foundry itself. Not a single person has said that it looks good. Let's not be naive. My favourite quote was 'This looks like a current-gen game. And that's being generous' ;D
And as a final note - I would say that The Medium looks more impressive right now, with the tech they used. That game had a budget of 7 million euros. Halo Infinite? $200 - $500 million, supposedly. Hell, TLoU2 had a budget of around $100 million. What went wrong???
MS should have been showing off this beauty instead of half baked Halo - since they did say this would be on XSX too.
Ikr. Yes Flight Simulator is a more niche game than Halo, but damn it looks gorgeous and damn impressive in term of visual fidelity
Seriously, whoever made this needs to replace 343 people that a screwing up halo >:(
They probably didn’t because some people are already getting confused with the release date on PC and thinking it’ll be available on the XB1 (for some reason).
But yeah, this absolutely should be what showcases the series x. I can’t even believe what I’m seeing and if this is what it will look like on the series x? I genuinely cannot believe it.
U exactly spoke my mind.
They had this visual and they showed halo gameplay
I think ms are going the esports way with halo infinite, they make look like shit so it can run even on uhd630 ..
Dang that intro with the music gave me nostalgic flashbacks to playing MS Flight Simulator 2006 as a child.
Star Citizen be like: "We need another 100 Mio to finish the game"
BWAA HAA HAAAA!!! And a few yachts and multi-million dollar houses later, they'd be back begging for more money and try to sell you a $10,000 virtual Airbus 350
i think half of the Halo budget went into Flight Simulator
If we could get out of our plane walk around and enter buildings in this game, and the deaill held up at ground level then you would have a point .....but we can't.
@@dabigbadwolf5081 Halo cost twice as much? that's embarrassing
@@dabigbadwolf5081 MS wasted money on a dead series no one wants to play, not even it's die-hard community. 343 just pocketed the money and shit out a mobile game they made in a few months.
Oké, i am getting back for the Xbox Series X for this. Incredible insane how they did this.
This game is more realistic than any game in the market also I’ve heard that hellblade is using some Flight simulator technology and I hope they use the same cloud technique too
they use unreal 5 already looks sick, point is man this is a satellite image looking at it all essentially zoomed out and static, totally diff thing
mel b I mean in flight simulator duh because your capturing a big area and your in the sky but in hellblade you’ll be in the ground
@@racingace9959 exactly so why would u ask for satellite tech, u are interacting with the environment and all totally diff
mel b -_- you don’t get what I’m saying
I don't think every game needs dependency on cloud stuff
I've watched so many AirForceProud95 vids and going from that to this, my mind is blown.
Not only that but just look at professional flight sim footage...we have come so far,. that "simulator" actually holds up to it's name.
I've been gaming for a looong time becoming somewhat jaded; but the fact that the entire WORLD is in a game is something anyone should be in awe of. The screen shots of this game look like actual photos at lower res.
HAHAH The dust on that HOTAS is so accurate, I had to bust out the duster for mine 2:39
I like how he tosses all the cheap sticks down then gently places the expensive yoke on the bed.
I'm trying to find mine. It is like 15 or more years old. Dont know if it works. Dont know where it is lol. But I used to use it on fsx years ago.
I wish my dad was still here
Way to bring down the room Katy

Turns out you don't even need ray tracing to look next-gen.
@@weaverquest Ray tracing obviously adds realism to light/reflections/shadows/colors accuracy but I think it makes a huge difference when talking about small scale games. Actually Ray tracing would make the cockpit look better but it's not needed to make the landscape look good
There was even reflections off the dials, wow this game looks incredible!
