"Ashwatthama is dead!"
The portion of the story missing here is about Krishna's action; how deceit can be dharma given the right circumstances. The war was at a stalemate; both sides had taken heavy losses and were exhausted. Drona could not be defeated in battle so Krishna decided to trick him. If he thought his son Ashwatthama was dead, he would lay down his arms and the war would turn in the Pandava's favor. It so happened that there was an elephant in the Pandava's army with the name Ashwatthama and Krishna instructed Bhima to kill it. Then Drona could be deceived without an actual lie by the words "Ashwatthama is dead!" Upon hearing these words, Drona gave up the desire to continue to fight and to continue to live.
This story illustrates Krishna in the role of trickster and how the correct and subtle dharma in this situation was to use deceit in order to break the stalemate of the war.
The real Ashwatthama's rage at the death of his father Drona was the main force that propelled him to slaughter innocent people in the Pandava camp in the middle of the night.
It means that subtle body of ashwatthama is never gona break or he is never gonna get enlightment..

Ashwatthama never intended to kill the children but the Pandavas themselves. He mistook Pandavas' children as Pandavas themselves and killed them.

I don’t agree with Sadhguruji. Child killers have never shown any regret for their actions - how will they suffer?
We may never know the true events of Mahabharat but I do believe that the energies of that time were strong enough which in today’s time may be called supernatural and a select few people who were able to channel those energies.
Someday Sadhguru might say that Mahabharat didn't happen it's the quality of war.

As per sadguru he does not know sanskrit. He also says he is savaymbhu and not reading any scripture. So he should not talk on history like mahabharata. Looks like sadguru is reading Devdutt Pattnaik who also does not have clarity of scriptures.

Saints like Sadhguru, even though they have one defined path for themselves, have knowledge about a wide range of subjects. They have realised the truth and hence they are able to share different perspectives about events and phenomenon. We have 6 Darshan Shastra to achieve whatever we are trying to achieve on here.
I also don't think Sadhguru ever said he is Swayambhu.
Devdutt Patnaik calls himself a 'mythology expert' so you can't expect anything from him.

Very few people fit the description of Ashwatthama who is believed to be still alive and hiding in the Kaliyuga.
Perhaps he bears crooked eyebrows, looks unkempt with long beard, wears funny head gear, draped in garish robes. Deceit & deception personified. Regurgitating unsolicited wisedom and sell it with new flavour everyday. Adulation he receives from the millions accross the globe is his source of credibility. He holds Swiss bank account and generally visits Switzerland under the pretext of World Economic Forum.
Long live Ashwatthama.
Sad guru is quite different. He is accreditated by the UN, UNESCO, EU etc prestigious world bodies. His Save Top Soil campaign has received worldwide support. He raised huge money from the rulers and nobles in the rich gulf countries were there is no Top Soil to save. This noble cause has recently received recognition by the EU with citation despite Zero results to show. That is the power of spirituality blended with politics and served graciously to the people who are rich, famous and powerful.

For a good reason; that is to see divinity in every creation in nature. Biological as well as Non Biological origin. Shiva 🙏 = Pancha Bhuta that is Non Biological.
