It’s probably me but I have to say my hair has done so much better natural then when it was relaxed and I have had mid back relaxed hair . It grows so much faster without having chemicals blocking your hair follicles . You have to have patience and be committed for it to pay off .

Oh wow, I thought I was the only one whos dad did their hair. My dad relaxed, trimmed and rolled up my hair in those big rollers. Like he was definitely my hair dresser when I was younger and he was very good at it🤣 I dont miss being relaxed at all though

My hair is a nightmare to deal with, without a relaxer. I cut my hair really short about 5 yrs ago.. now My hair is half way down my back with relaxing. Wash once a week, deep condition, roller set and never apply any other heat outside of that, my hair is in good condition. Good luck!❤ Your hair came out nice after the relaxer!! 😀

I don’t blame you Octavia! Do what works for you. I texturized and it’s been the best decision ever! I was natural for 6 years but my hair is a very kinky coily 4A that would take me an hour-1 1/2 to detangle every time. Granted, my hair naturally grows long but imagine punching yourself each time you comb your hair because the hair was so coily. As a millennial with a full career and other responsibilities, I just was tired of my hair being a chore. I now can detangle in 10 minutes and it’s so maneagable. My curl pattern went from an 8 to a 3 so still curly just more wavey. I just got a touch up after 7 months and it’s sooo long. I’m able to retain sooo much more length now because I’m not tugging and pulling so much!

Hairdressers usually advise you not to get braids after getting a relaxer for at least 6 weeks. Just an FYI, might be too much stress on your hair. Also: try finger detangling before detangling with a comb regarding detangling pain. When I learned detangling your hair shouldn't be painful (except ofc if your arms hurt a little), it helped a lot!
I could tell you weren’t feeling the natural hair thing, so I’m not surprised about the relaxer. I’ve been natural for about 12 years and some days I’m honestly just over it, so I can totally relate. Girl I totally feel you on getting a relaxer i transitioned for about 13 months big chopped had a decent size TWA my hair is extremely thick it was crazy five months later I relaxed my hair I couldn’t deal with it at all funny thing is in the five months I was natural my hair didn’t grow one bit five months after relaxing my hair went from ear length to shoulder length.

4C hair here too 🤧. But I never comb my hair dry. It helps with the pain tough. The more its dry the more you'll be in pain
