It´s not a competition, but I´m glad you like my videos. I guess the main difference is that I don´t really do tutorials - I do "Follow Along" videos as a User. Official tutorials are great, but they come from the people who developed the addon and know all the ins and outs. :)
@@MrBerglmir The follow alongs are great. I just follow along and get a nice result, as well as a general understanding. I was getting very frustrated by the official ones because they just go through every single button on outdated version
Many thanks for this. I got TT5 with a recent Humble Bundle and being a limited in my Blender abilities I sought out some way of getting me into this. I subbed. :)
Glad you find my videos somewhat helpful. SPOILERALERT: I know some huge things are coming our way, and I have some ideas on what videos I want to create next. So stay tuned! ;)
@@MrBerglmir can I politely make a suggestion for your video production? If you produce your videos in 1080p max only could you increase the Blender interface size a little? Just so it’s clear what you’re working with. If not, it’s not a deal breaker. Keep up the great work. Excited about the upcoming videos.
Thank you. I am just starting with True Terrain 5 and your video was a great help. Please continue with more videos about it if possible. I would like to see how to finetune a terrain built from height map for some details like flatten an area to place a house on it. Also how to import own materials etc.
Hey Burg, great to see you're still around, I'm missing seeing your work at the Blender Benders, But I can understand why, now that they don't do monthly or weekly challenges. Your epic work is not possible to be done for a daily challenge.
I´m still around sometimes, but yes, I can´t really do daily challenges, as I have done most of my weekly challenges on the weekend. :) But you guys still rock, and I consider you all my Discord Home!
Hey Berglmir....I see you are still going very strong with your in-depth videos of True Terrain...I don't know if you remember me but you are the reason I'm into my career creating graphic and animated designs.....thank you for all your inspiring works......... you sound so serious but comfortably confident.
At this point in the video: ua-cam.com/video/AEa4IuhIn_I/v-deo.html you clicked on something to set your render camera viewpoint. What was that or was there an add-on you relied upon to do this? I noticed new items along the top of the screen that I don't have: AF-S and AF-C, etc.
This is one of my top 3 must have addons - it´s called "Photographer". I think you can find it on BM, but it´s discontinued there - you have to buy it on Gumroad. Worth every penny, and quite frequently updated too. Here is the link to his GR Store: chafouin.gumroad.com/
Absolutely - however, afaik procedural textures, are not working great in the current version (beta), but you can use snow textures for now. I can try and make a follow along video with snowy mountains if you want. Why not? :D
Great video. I can't wait for your deeper dive video. I want to see how you add multiple materials to the cliff as your final product shows. Is TT5 able to use textures and objects which I've gathered throughout the years? TT5 only allows heightmaps to be baked and not a mesh, is that right (i.e. from GAEA)?
Thanks for the feedback! I tried to show how to use multiple layers in this video. Overall I use 4 different textures and mix them. But the best answer to all of our prayers is: YES!! You can now, easily, with the push of a button use other materials, and objects you have in your Asset Library. It opens up so many possibilities, and I will def. do a deep dive on that aspect.
@@MrBerglmir I have 1,000+ materials (texture maps) which I have gathered through the years. Do you know how I can use my own materials within True Terrain 5? Thanks
Whenever I switch into GPU rendering with cycles the material I’ve applied to the terrain turns 100% black, and then when I switch to CPU rendering with cycles it magically reappears and renders out fine. What can I do to fix this and render out with the GPU?
Two points: 1) It saves you time; time is money; thus some of that money you save should go to the creator. 2) you CAN sell your works of art. Where'd you get the idea you can't?
your tutorials are much better then the official ones

Thanks for the video. Are there some good reasons to use this / learn this instead of just using UE5 for example?

@@richod9635 Me too, and it´s incredibly easy to use them in TT5. I will show that in my next video. Hopefully coming up this weekend.
hey bro quick question does TT5 come with water and rivers? and scatter just like TT4?
Right now the version provides Scattering, but no water. I believe that water will be added in a future update

A bit more details than EasyGen ;-)

Good tool to just pass the time, you are not allowed to sell anything created with it, what's the point in paying 99 dollars for it?
Not sure I understand. What do you want to sell?
