I think they have them, but they're not 45-70 or anything that large. I'm not sure if any of the commercial companies made them or which one's, but I've seen them before and I don't think they were homemade. They were good quality and looked identical to the handgun/revolver round versions. They sell them in .410 also. I wonder if a 45-70 would chamber and/or shoot in them though. (I don't think so). I think Heizer has a 5.56/.223 version of the Double Tap, but that's about all I can remember at the moment.
In my personal opinion, the grip is too small to hold comfortably. On the other hand, it is not a pistol to shoot continuously. I bet your hands still hurt the next day... Yet another aspect. See the images. It looks like you, the father, is shaking before firing.
You hit the nail on the head. After both first shots, we each anticipated recoil. It took some time to find the sweet spot on the trigger, and that added to the anticipation of the booming recoil. Three was enough, Dad kept at it.
Yeah, it's not as comfortable as a NAA revolver. lol. I wonder if they sell folding grips for these or for the other models/companies. Being single shot though, I don't think the grip really needs to be any bigger. Might not be comfortable to hold/shoot... but at least you don't have to worry about regripping it in between every shot like if it was a semi-auto. (...but then again, being single shot alone has gotta suck even more). They're good quality guns though, they're fun to shoot and they're lethal, so they can save your life in most situations you could ever come across. Just not sure if I would ever carry one with so many much better guns existing in my opinioni.
this really should have a longer barrel, i know they made a 6 inch model in 45 colt this really should have at least 6 or 7 inch in a rifle caliber like this
Now imagine a over under version of this with a both triggers pulled using the rifle rounds 😂
Shew! Now that's one for a true glutton for punishment!

Maybe. For my personal use? I'd keep this length.
