I resonate with a lot of this. I wanted to join the marines, and went to college to become an officer. But as of now a law enforcement pathway seems to have much more opportunities and positives.
BMI has literally no relevance to people who work out. I'm a tall lean guy, swimmer's body, very low body fat, I often get called skinny... and supposedly I'm overweight according to BMI.
In the Army I always failed height and weight. My BMI was way too high. 6'2" and 235 lbs so they would tape test me. I was consistently about 11-12% body fat. I just had a shit load of muscle because my only hobby was body building
@@ElessarEstel The tape test is complete and utter bullshit. If you pass your PFT you should be exempt from this crap. I can understand certain roles like being on a submarine, a pilot, or tanker but you have cases of people being "too fat" even though their BF% is inline with the standards but their physical build fucks them over.
always wanted to join the marines. sadly im 6'9 and a bit over the maximum height. Going corrections, then to my sheriffs department, and hopefully swat.
I attempted to lie about having celiac disease to join the Marines. Got all the way to the medical examine. Come find out I was also allergic to peanuts and found that out in front of the examiners as I started breaking out in hives right in front of them from a meal I had earlier.
I was expecting some medical problems that arose during the enlistment process but the finances are a pretty decent reason too. Don’t get paid shit as an enlisted member.
Same. I'm surprised to hear this. Yes the airforce will make people go thru hoops if they are meeting quota, but the army and marines will take you in a second as long as you don't have any violent offenses
The problem with doing anythign fun in the military is there are too many damned tryhards to compete with. WHat's better is to get into a PMC straight off the bat if you have the connections to do that. I had a friend who did that during the Second Intifada in Israel (this was around 2001). He joined and became a sniper right away and got to work in a target rich environment LOL. The thing about Israel is they will put the volunteers in combat no problem. They'd rather risk you than their own sons and daughters serving conscription. Worked for him!

Going to be like the CoolAid man on those SWAT breaches.
They have a maximum height limit?
The airforce didn't want to spend the extra money in fuel to lift his chonkiness. The budget must've been tight that year.
As someone who’s trying to join the airforce at 6’5” I need to be at about 230. I think he woulda been fine.

Good on you Admin for becoming famous on UA-cam instead and getting to hang with GT doing cool shit all the time hahaha.

He never said being a cop is equivalent to being in the military. Get your cock out of the blender you miserable fuck.
How are all them vaccines treating you?
You're right, it's actually a lot more dangerous, at least during this current era of relative peace.
Who said they were equivalent?
You must be fun at parties.
