Totally agree about Bunny, I really wanted to like it, but I dnf'd after realizing that there were no stakes to me. Everything was described in (in my opinion) horrific detail except for the stuff I cared about. I'm sure that the narration being so specific and wordy, yet also incredibly vague is a literary technique that others may enjoy or there at least would have been a point to it, but I couldn't get into it. I think that maybe if it were Fall I may have been more into the horror aspects and maybe could try to annotate to stay focused on the book, but for now it's a no.
yeah the descriptions and usage of words were putting me to sleep. and then when things started happening i didn’t even realize it bc i was so focused on the writing💀

You’re so funny! I bought a pretty hardcover edition of Dune after seeing the movie because I liked it so much but I haven’t been able to make myself read it and I’m also a READER 😂. Denis is one of the best directors of all time for sure because I know that that book is dense as hell and he’s managed to make the material more approachable without dumbing it down 🙌🏻

I bought the pretty classics edition from Barnes and Noble and tbh I think that's the only reason I got through it lmao. And then I deluded myself into continuing the series in audio books and I about had to listen to it at 0.75x speed because that shit was so dense and confusing
the midnight library was one of the best books i’ve ever read. but a lot of people strongly disagree with that lol. i feel like you have to be at a certain point in your life and/or mental state to enjoy it and really understand it.

I agree with you on Dune. I HATED that book with a passion. I read about halfway through it and just couldn’t keep going.
I’m so surprised you hated dune! It is one of my favorite books of all time, but I can get why some people can’t get behind it

bunny was absolutely awful. ive dnf’d it THRICE 😭 kept picking it up thinking maybe my tastes have changed but every time i was just as bored and cringing as i was the last time. got 65% through and googled the ending (which was exactly as i had predicted) 😭
