A conviction would only have affected their vote if people believed he committed a serious crime and was rightfully punished for it. No one even knows what he was convicted for in this case because it was a show trial. This was the weakest case out of all of them and no one else wanted to bring it to trial. Even the average person who does not follow politics sees right through it.

He was found guilty on all counts of Falsifying Business Records in the First Degree.
He had an affair with Stormey Daniels in 2006. He had his then attorney Michael Cohen pay Daniles $130,000 to keep quiet before the 2016 United States Presidential Election to prevent voters from knowing about the affair. Trump would reimburse Cohen for the payment, but falsified business records by listing the payments as a legal expense when it was not.
Him lying about the paymets is a violation of New York State laws, which he has now found guilty of.
I'm not entirely up to speed either, but from my understanding it had to do with using campaign funds for a hush money scandal.
Guilty of Falsifying Business Records in the First Degree because he tried to cover up an affair he had with Stormey Daniels in 2006 before the 2016 U.S presidential election but listed hush money payments as a legal expense when they were not which is a violation of New York State Law.
